What I love about her is that she's not afraid to make music that is not instantly accessible, it can take many listens to get into a song but when you do it's like discovering a hidden gem. Hope that makes sense.
Discovered the Viagra Boys a couple of weeks ago. Loved them immediately but was bored after a few listens. Catchy but no depth. PJ's songs often take a dozen listens to get but then you can listen to them hundreds of times without getting bored.
It's a weird relationship that I have with PJ's music. I don't go out of my way to seek it out, but when I come across it, I stay awhile and let it resonate with me. ❤
Same....it's like I'm not sure if I'm into it or not, but I have to stay and see what happens, then I click on the next one...then repeat with the same feelings. I'm always glad I stayed, but I'm not sure why. Maybe because it's always a unique journey.
never in my days did I think that woman in the pink jumpsuit at glastonbury (I was there) could be the same woman who wrote "Sheila na gig" (a song I still adore) and this...madness, you are a true talent, do whatever you want, I want to listen!
I just remembered why I don't read youtube comments also that I should probably call my little brother listen to him waffle shite for the next hour and pretend to be supportive and stuff
@BlackThyme Thank you. I love the new set of songs. It's great to discover her progress as an artist. After England Shakes and Hope Street she has given us another glimpse into her genius. Cheers
@@jeffersonjefferson2883 me too! i admit that i wasn't over the top with my admiration for Hope, unlike her genius with all her previous album, i'm in love with this album. it sounds like she's having fun again, even we she's not smiling, it still sounds like she's enjoying herself more on this album than Hope, which i love

Polly Jean is authentic, on stage she sings each time as if she does sing each song for the first time like it's no copy but the living original, so amazing! Love this original woman Angel!
Love when she wears singer songwriter openly and intimately, as if she is ever not the power performer who has been singer songwriter from the first angry chords of Dry. PJ Harvey inspires. This song is lilting and beautiful, even with the hard moments of childhood “life lessons” in the drawings her Lonesome Tonight crosses English bogs and shallow streams as Hank Williams crossed swamps and muddy rivers in his lonesome blues. This is to say she is in the pantheon with greats of song and verse.
So nice to see everyone getting into Orlam/I Inside Old Year Dying. It's like a magical kingdom that few people knows about. Yet, here we all are... Polly is a truly genius! This is some next level work. Everytime I start to listen to this album I kinda lost my sense of reality. That is the peak of what music can make us feel. Thank you Polly, we love you. 💝
A rough diamond, a fine pearl, a dazzling treasure... Polly is a landscape in perpetual renewal, whose voice so pure and so right bewitches and enchants us. She's a goldsmith that i can't wait to see on stage ! ❤️
Yes, I agree PJ Harvey is the real Queen of England! She has so much tone in so many vocal ranges. It’s amazing! She can sing high she can sing deep and Low she’s absolutely brilliant! Love you, PJ Harvey always❤❤❤❤
Just stunning. I feel that this one is a standout on the new album and even across her last several records. The vocals are so haunting, even hair raising and the storytelling is gorgeously vivid.
The storytelling element of her music is something I feel strongly engaged with. Not many musicians today have the poetic talent combined with musical talent that she has. She is a rare diamond.
as for me, this is the most stunning and beautiful song on this album - even if I don't understand all levels of the lyrics (not a native speaker), her voice and singing touch me quite deeply ....brilliant PJ

Here is a song to be heard through all the coldest, loneliest nights... Words of an unnamed man and poet left here...
Just discovering her hauntingly beautiful sound now, nearing age 70. Her music gently tugs at your soul, searching for a tiny opening. It seeps in slowly, giving us time to absorb its complexity...
Sheffield Leadmill, 1991 was the first time I saw Polly after “Dry” was released. The trio were so loud and the crowd were in awe of the little lady’s power and presence 👍 14 times since I’ve seen her, through each phase and she’s developed into some kind of folk storyteller. Still love the woman though, prefer the late nineties to early noughties, Stories from the city is still in my all time top ten albums 😊
I've been listening since I was Seventeen, when she released her debut, and she is still as compelling and downright amazing as the first time I heard her.She seems to be on the edge of something limitless.....
really good song. Have a lot of respect for PJ continuing to put out albums, over and over. This song especially shows she's all about the quality. really neat video production too.
Idk what it is about this woman, about Polly Mf Harvey but she is beautiful soul and all. Her voice is encapsulating. Like a piece of my soul is swaying back and forth with her singing and the band she plays with with whoever she collaborates with. I got rid of me on vinyl for Christmas and the shirt with the rid of me cover on it and it probably captures alot of attention. Maybe i can get at least one person to check her out. I think she writes music for music And not for awards. Doesn’t seem like the type of person for all that. And that is an artist.
PJ Harvey ça fait longtemps que je ne la suivais plus que de loin , et la le rapprochement se fait , elle a réussi à se réinventer. C est magique. Comment a t elle fait ? 😊

I know what you mean. I’ve dismissed songs before remembering they aren’t pop songs. Takes a wee while to seep in
well put

There are things and colors and feelings that can not be caught in other ways..and it's not simply music..
It sounds very 'In Rainbows' by Radiohead. I love it!
PJ Harvey est la meilleure artiste féminine de ce siècle.

True master at her craft. I love you Polly Jean.
Human voice is the most amazing instrument.

me too. i totally agree with what you've expressed here. PJ is truly genius
Please don’t do ‘whatever you want’ someone needs to have a word with her about that!
I just remembered why I don't read youtube comments also that I should probably call my little brother listen to him waffle shite for the next hour and pretend to be supportive and stuff
@@BowserLucaTheThirdlmao, same. The weird nonsense some people manage to write sometimes is just too much
Well said ❤
ethereal folk artistry
I can only hope that this younger generation can grow to see how impactful her art has been.
Polly is a brilliant artist...Please don't ever stop experiments. We are right with you. Cheers

Polly has a voice that sends delightful shivers up my spine. Such a tremendous artist.
The Scots call the scary kind a "grue" - I guess Polly has "grews". I have the Pollygrews 💙

Incredible soundscapes in this album, very psychedelic

She's an pure and original; so serious, artificial and intimate. Never forget as i seen the first time on stage❤
Nothing outstanding other than simplicity and beauty of emotion. Probably the reason why I can’t leave... Xxx
This is pure magic! Thank you Polly, love you insanely ❤
I am so grateful for her work❤️🙏🏼
stunning photos
Seems as if she releases these magnificent pieces right when I needed to hear it the most and it gives my soul a loving hug.
other-wordly good.
Thank you, it's wonderful, haunting and visually beautiful.
What a beautiful soul.
This song danced in my soul directly and stays there, thanks, Polly J. and Band❤
I love this. Sounds like it could fit into Let England Shake. Well done Polly. You ARE amazing.
Beautiful genius
Masterpiece.
Phenomenal track. Can't wait to see her again live. 3rd time should be quite the charm with songs of this caliber!
Genius .xxx.
always relevant and challenging
most important artist of our time
without a doubt
This is so beautiful and seeing the process notes and gorgeous illustrations enriches an already profound experience.
So many of Polly's songs are wonderful.
Her band are damn good too.
What a combination.
Like the artwork, will give the album a good listen to later today. Got a nice bottle of red for the occasion.
It gets better and better with each listen. I like it a lot.

nice use of synth...very TASTY tune. Righteous song to turn against the tide of muck. Crew gets back pats.
Eldritch, ethereal, from a different dimension. This has to be the best album of 2023.
The Album is beautiful, thanks and a shout out to Factory Records, located in Costa Mesa Ca
so good ::hearts:: gotta reach the 3 min frontier :)
So much more deep and heartfelt than many modern vocalists, not heard much of her before, liked and subbed :)
Glad to see that Elvis has finally entered your wordle Polly. Well done ! We love it, me and my dad !!!

Love ya PJ! Keep making music!
