I mean, it makes sense because the places these tiny vehicles make sense is also not going to have a garage for each occupant(access to a plug) But I think the genius is actually in the centralized "subscription" method which puts more of the battery packs in the manufacturers hands. They can offer charged battery exchange(both mobile and fixed location) instead of building expensive charging stations that are subject to periodic standards changes. They also somewhat can absorb the battery aging costs(which are ridiculously high on full size EVs) with larger economies of scale.
Sorry, I like the idea but for the price I can buy a real car, four passengers seating, higher top speed etc. I ain’t going to pay 15,000 for what would be essentially a 2nd car that is a bit of a novelty. For city driving it is cheaper to call an uber or use a shared car.
