I have a Chet Atkins album where he put bass guitar strings on the E and A strings. It sounds great but this is a much easier way of getting the same effect!
i have on my Boss Gt100 FX Kore a kinda Jazz Fusion Cleanish tone 4 lead which uses a Octaver which is controlled by a LFO according to the picking intensity (ADSR) + an Analog Delay controled by another LFO (from the 8 Assign available) there is also a kinda Analog Chorus on one side (A channel in // processing) ++ a Vibrato on this other side (B channel) to create a wide Trichorus' like algorithm (+ a Room Reverb) .....this patch really kickass ^^^
Great overview. I have had one for maybe a couple years now and haven’t found myself using it often. I ended up getting a seven string and sat in a drawer at that point, then stopped using the seven string as I didn’t find I really needed the low end when there was no bass. I should take it back out and try it again though - it sounds good here and I love how Gilad Hekselman uses it.
Paul Hofreiter that guy is a master at the OC-3. Knows how to play it to get it to track well and everything. I almost bought the seven string version of this guitar when I was shopping but this just sounded better than the other. Sometimes I wish I would’ve gotten it.
Alex Price I was looking at the seven string Eastmans too but the necks are so wide that I couldn’t handle it. They sounded great through (Edit: those were the custom ones that Lou ordered at Guitars N Jazz, not the 805 or 810 seven strings. I forget what the model is called that he ordered in for the store but the neck spacing is the same across all of them I think
@@PaulHofreiter I actually bought this Eastman from Lou at Guitars n Jazz! It was back in Summer 2016. Summit, NJ was a cute little town and I stopped nearby and had some great pizza before heading back home. I remember that I did try a 7 string Eastman that he had there - similar to my guitar but with a dark sunburst finish - not this varnish. I went with this guitar because I honestly think the finish made a big difference in the sound. That 7 string didn't vibrate as well
Really appreciated this demo, and I gotta say, the OC3 actually shaped the way I play guitar. I would love to hear what you think of the new OC5? It has genuine lowest-note-only tracking and doesn't get confused by chords where more than one note falls within the "Poly" mode's range.
Hot diggity damn! Boy! You can play! Works great to replace bass in a small combo. Very cool. I still like having a bassist. But, it’s not like folks are very willing to pay qualified musicians a fair rate for live performances these days. So, this is a nice option and sounds great.
i literally just bought an used Micro Pog last week and the ehx pitch fork plus and boss oc5 are released, f**k me, at least i'm loving the tones of the pog and it tracks really nicely
I’ve been looking at getting one of these for a while hoping that it’d fit in good in a duo setting. I couldn’t find any videos of anyone playing any straight ahead jazz except you thanks for posting the video.
Great video. Enjoyed watching just to hear you play as well. You’ve used this pedal to augment your sound to where it fills in the tonal spectrum for you. I think it sounds great, and seeing how heavy bass gear is, this is a powerful option and opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

HI Alex, you're vids are really useful. I was wondering if you could tell how to make a specific guitar sound. There is a song: ua-cam.com/video/Sm7B_JsWzLQ/v-deo.html im trying to create the lead guitar sound that comes in from the start. Do you have any ideas of what pedals they are using?
Get a Boss DR01 Rhythm Partner with this and you can emulate a rhythm section. Good for practice or low paid gigs. Sorry drummers and bassists. I know you hate this, but the bassist wouldn’t play with the DR01, so he had to go. A person is always better, but the robots are cheaper and a man has to eat.
Brilliant use. I agree with you - by itself the pedal sounds weird but when blended well with the clean tone like you've done, it really helps you sound bigger. If I were as good as you I wouldn't bother paying a bass player either ;)
Hi Alex, no doubt your amazing guitar player. I have some request for you. Pls check “HEY GIRL 3” in you tube, they have the nice back ground. It’s for me to cover it. I hope you will do. Big thanks

It’s the most comfortable guitar I own. It’s big, but that puts the strings exactly where they should be. This and my D28 are the only guitars I play without a strap when I sit down.
