I did what ou said more than one time, I showed his work to profesionals also and they said he's different.
    1. His style is not so predictable.
    2. His songs are heavier and more straight forward!
    3. His wide vibratos, string skipping tecniques are some of the tecniques he uses that I've never heard from YJM.
    And so on....

Just because someone sounds similar to someone else on guitar does not make them a rip-off artist. All the famous guitarists got their inspiration from somewhere. For instance, Kirk Hammett was trained by Satriani. And neo-classical guitarists, even Ygnwie, got their inspiration from classic guitarists that came out hundreds of years ago, like Vivaldi. They just sped-up what they did. Besides, there's a difference between a solo artist and someone who plays in a band. They're ALL good.

he sounds like yngwie but if u see the theory he use is way different than yngwie... id say the only thing he is a copy of yngwie is the hair and the way he dresses BUT when yngwie got famous nirifumi was already there playing...sooo we can say they both came to the market at the same time so none of them r copies of nobody..

Many people fail to know the meaning behind notes, not only young kids. Some "adults" or teenagers do it more often, but here is an good example of people who fail to understand notes : Dragonforce,
Also, People ( age 1 to *infinity number* ) can play with feelings, Take a look at kids at age 9 playing piano, they have feelings no matter what, its just natural as an human being, so u can program a robot to play, u can never program it to make good music as an true composer.

Music is a form of expression no matter what the composer's intents were at the moment he composed a song. Even the most random-sounding shredding passages involve a lot of hard work. And, in my opinion, hard work IS expression.
When it comes to music, I believe most of the expression manifests itself during the actual writing of a said piece, rather than the mere performance.

Hey muster, I'm a white american male and I have several japanese and chinese heroes. Liu Bei, Takeda Shingen and Kurosawa Akira for instance. And if you want to talk music I love what the japanese are doing for metal. The Sex Machineguns, Onmyouza and Concerto Moon (who Shima plays with). Let's not forget Galneryus and Syu, my guitar hero. But I see what you're saying. Bands like the ones I mentioned would be huge over here if it wasn't for the culture and language gap.

Stupid haters. Who cares if the sound is similar to Yngwie, it's NOT exactly the same as some of you say. Shima is an awesome guitarist and songwriter no matter how you look at it. If you said the same thing about every band/guitarist who sounded like Yngwie, how many 'original' guitarist would there be in the neo-classical genre?? Yngwie did indeed create this type of stuff - he helped found a GENRE, so of course those who come after him are going to sound like him!

People who think he's not like Yngwie need a reality check. Norifumi Shima himself has stated that he looks up to Yngwie as his primary influence.

  • @KNVBKing
    @KNVBKing 14 років тому

P.S. That is probably the most popular hairstyle in metal, and Yngwie certainly didn't invent it either. Are you going to bash every single metal band member who has a similar hair style, including Ynwie himself?? Shut up and go listen to Yngwie if you're so obsessed with him, and let those of us who enjoy Shima's music enjoy it in peace.

You can program a robot to do the most technical playing in the world, that doesn't mean there's any kind of emotion in it. While there are many technical songs that still carry meaning behind it, there are also many that do not. Young kids who become very proficient at playing an instrument are good examples of this; they can perform a technical song flawlessly, but they really don't understand what the meaning is behind the notes.

Malmsteen is a pioneer and has developed the metal guitar to the highest levels, but his playing never goes outside of the box (fortunately he has a big box with lots of tecniques). Unfortunately it also seems in the last few years that he has lost his feeling of the guitar!
Shima is developing Malmsteen's style even further!

Why are you guys insulting this guy for? It's not like he's the one saying he's better than Yngwie! He obviously never called this sub-genre his own 'cause then Yngwie's song "Liar" would've been dedicated to this guy, and not John Norum. So why don't you guys show some respect. Oh, and you guys must have forgotten...that's 80's rock fashion NOT Yngwie's!
