Yes, it's a one-take. And the only mics are the one in the guitar and the lapel mic. Ren said in an interview that they worked like crazy in post to compensate for all the irregularities in the sound

It’s amazing a beautiful song, which gives incredible insight into med life / half life.
Sam (videographer) said that part one took 183 attempts before they got it right. Part 2 was written during the "C" word, so Ren wasn't able to make a live video for it like parts 1 and 3 due to quarantine. The official lyric video is the way to go.
The 183 number I think was said in jest during the Black Pegasus interview…but he said in other more recent interviews, or maybe in Wolf Johnson’s behind the scenes of MG3 it was 120 ish. Either way, it’s not just talent, but also unrelenting determination to get it right, that makes him so amazing.
@itsayswithoutgoing9571 The number is a little fuzzy as Sam said 183 and Ren said in a different interview 137. So it's over 100 for sure.

I'm sure someone's told you already, but the good version of pt. 2 is the "Official Lyric Video".
That's the word I've been reaching for for ages with him. Dynamic. The control he has over all aspects of his performance is just that. His voice is dynamic, the way he constructs songs is dynamic, the way he puts together vocal styles changes is dynamic, the way he and Sam put together videos is dynamic. His choice of words and framing and timing, it's all so dynamic which makes it all so damned interesting. You don't ever get bored when listening to or watching him.
I've never encountered an artist who is across such a wide range of talents with such character and style and capability.
You should also do reaction to Money Game Part 2 and 3. Those will leave you speechless :)

A really interesting example of Ren singing creatively can be heard in’Heretic’. He’s used his studio to create the track but its unusual and fantastic to listen to.
Money game part 2 is amazing and money game part 3 is artistically outstanding.
I know how much you enjoy live performances... and if you wanna see what Ren can do in a live setting... Check out his band, The Big Push and pretty much any of their street performances (busking) One of my favorites is I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/ Hip-Hop. But they are all good. There is a reason it's called the Ren Rabbit Hole. Also as others have said... the work he does with Chinchilla both videos and busking are amazing. Here's to seeing more Ren on here!!!

Also to get more of Ren's singing voice all you need to do is react to Ren and his band The Big Push. They have multiple covers on YT that are 🔥but you can also find original songs written by Ren and the other band members. If you want to listen to a chill intimate cover of "Englishman In New York" by Sting then you'll love Ren's live recording with 2 of his other band mates singing and playing on a sofa with there dog running around 💕🤩. There's so much to choose from and all of it is brilliant INCLUDING the bands original tunes. ✌

"Bold!" You said it, lady. That, and the genuine intensity in his play and presentation is what distincts Ren from most contemporary artists,
not only in music, and is, complete with the congenial camera work of Sam Perry Falvey, what helps their productions to this rare level.
The only other artist-pairing at that level coming to mind, at least to mine, in producing memorable high-level music videos of meaningful content
are Till Lindemann and Zoran Bihac. Both of which seasoned pros, now in their sixties, in what they are doing.
Both of Ren's and Sam's trilogies, The Tales of Jenny, Screech and Violet and Money Game Part 1, 2 and 3, have a lot of a Peter Greenaway
feel to them, reminding me of films like "The Cook, The Thief and his Wife" or "Prosperos Books" by said film director.

I felt like the Money Game trilogy is an excellent example of film trilogy building.
The first is a small, more personal setting and story. The second expands the world involved and looks at a more macrocosmic view.
The third applies a personal story directly to the newly expanded world, bringing it full circle.
Fun trivia detail: when he takes away the guitar to put eyes on the hood, he stepped on it in one of the takes, leaving a little divot. You
can see the divot on the same guitar in the later video, A tale of Jenny and Screech.

Ren my guy your live music videos are so good. I can't listen to your studio version stuff. What a unique artiest you are. You know you're talented when fans. Would rather hear your live than recorded in the studio.
Ren is a diamond in the rough. He can do what he wants and chooses to do good with his talent. Maybe odd comparison but I see tons of similarly with him and The Warning. Different music but same perfectionism and intentions with there art.

For me Ren was portraying the global elites tormenting the hostage (the citizens of all countries). Through the elite's actions they opened the eyes of the world citizens and they stopped the elites from totally destroying all of us. Love his music and videos 👍
