Memories of one of my brothers, a submariner for many years during the Cold War. Thank you, brother, for all your years of Naval service to our country. Voices are beautiful...credit, also, to the pianist. Well done to all! Wonderful arrangements!
Dear Lord .please protect my Nephew James and His shipmates that are serving the US COAST AS THEY PATROL THE WATERS AS THEY RISK THEIR LIVES WHILE PROTECTING OTHERS OTHERS FROM HARM 🙏 AMEN
Ya know, I'm an old "fosil". But I tear up when I hear this Beautiful rendition of the Navy Hymn and the Battle Hymn of the Republic. One of, if not THE best, renditions of these old standards that I have seen and heard. God Bless the USNA Men's and Women's Glee Club!
And ya know what, Mike? I'm an old "fosil" too, and so do I because this IS a beautiful rendition. Truth be told hard to tell if I like this one or the one (all politics aside) from Trumps inauguration. The fireworks that were METICULOUSLY selected and timed for that rendition were of nothing I have ever witnessed before. A quote from that video's comments: "Man I was there and let me tell you that no one could prevent the shedding of a tear, it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen and heard. Never have I been more proud to be a citizen of these United States of America 🇺🇸" Just search Battle Hymn of the Republic Trump, and then skip ahead to 58 seconds. Merica!
@@chrisa9373 Thanks for the tip fosil Chrisa. I'll have to check it out. And by doggies, I'm also proud to be a Citizen of these United States of America!
Many thanks for standing with us Australia. We NEED you as much as you need us. So happy to know your son survived Afghanistan. I've been there. It's a beautiful country and wonderful/innocent kind, in general people, BUT I'm haunted by my experiences there. I PRAY your son, and our allied soldiers, never know my nightmares. They probably will though. Spent 3 years of my life over there and despair that those people will never know REAL freedom. What a waste. PLEASE embrace/be kind to your son. He HAS seem the worst of humanity, no doubt. Thanks for your peoples/government alliance with the U.S. though. Really.
Two hymns that bring me to tears but for different reasons. My dad was in the Royal Navy for 24 years starting in 1941. We sang Eternal Father at his funeral, I wept the whole time, unfortunately I was at the front, on my own as I was due to give some scripture readings and a eulogy, I could see the pain in my wife's eyes as she sat in the congregation. The battle hymn we sang in my school choir in the UK, in the 1960s, it just moved me immensely then and still does.
I sit here on Veterans Day with tears in my eyes as well. you might want to know that the arrangement of the battle hymn Is directly from a mormon tabernacle long play record that I inherited is the inherited from my parents. God-bless you! He does bless me every day…
Thank you so much for posting this. Beautiful music. Australia, my uncle was stationed in the Pacific during WWII. First he went to Australia for training. He had nothing to say about Australia except good of things.
as a u.s. navy viet nam veteran my chest swells with pride when I hear this. However I am so afraid of the direction our nation is now headed. I am concerned what this country is going to be like when my grand children are my age.
When I hear the Battle Hymn of The Republic I think of the stubborn valour of the Army of The Potomac....constantly kicked to the ground by Bobbie Lee and the Army of Northern Virginia, they would get back up, brush off their uniforms and attack again and again till Appomattox Courthouse....that is why they are more remembered than the more successful Armies of The Tennessee and The Cumberland....
Everytime I hear the Navy Hymn I think of USS Cumberland's final fight at Hampton Roads....rammed by CSS Virginia, she continued to fire her guns under her battle Ensign till the water flowed over them as she sank....
There are at least four very important verses to "eternal father". Why does the naval academy leave the job only half finished by singing 2 verses instead of 4? Considering the time, energy and money invested, why miss the opportunity?
Bravo/brava…..but I’m sorry some music is written for certain voices range and testifies upper register and female voices above alto are distracting for this one …sorry it’s just the truth
I'm a liberal. Also a Vietnam vet, military college graduate, and retired major in the US Army reserves. I, and most of my liberal friends, also enjoy patriotic and good religious music. No one is trying to outlaw those songs.

My father’s sub-chaser was torpedoed in WW II by a German submarine. He was killed along with 134 others. “Eternal Father” is greatly appreciated.

In memory of my deceased husband John who served in the Navy for four years! 🙏✝️♍️🎄🇺🇸😍
Best choral version ever .......
Goosebumps .....,
Gasp..........
Wow, this was superb! And just with a piano to accompany and what looks like a pretty low-keyed venue. Bravo Zulu, USNA Men and Women!
We in Australia stand with you. My son has just returned from Afghanistan after training an Afghan unit . He has served with American Pacific Command.
His service was not in vain, he is a true soldier and deserves the best of accolades for his service in spite of our current DC politicos.

It was good that you so honored your Father. I feel your pain, Sir.
I agree it’s the Navy hymn that is very moving.

For the Navy, this is our song of faith and worship.... The seminal song for the US Army seems to be "Mansions of the Lord"...
Beautiful
I hear a beautiful, Soprano voice. Everyone, is wonderful.
My deer, are listening.

It's all wonderful, but 6:29-7:13 is fantastic!

Mis ojos pondré.en los fieles de la tierra para que estén conmigo.bendiciones.
Too bad all references to Christ and the Holy Trinity were removed as were written in the original hymn.
Felicidades bendiciones

This is an English hymn!😼
I am sick
Hope the liberals do not outlaw patriotic or religious songs!
I don't think they can get that far.
They can't stop everyone from singing.
Guess what, us libs love patriotic and when appropriate, religious songs! Find something else to try to beat us up on.

Screw 'em if they can't take a joke.
