I love you guys. I am a graphic artist and I work in a high pressure job designing bank cards for a French company. The job is total stress, but luckily, I get to "listen" to UA-cam in my headphones all day. This week, I have been totally under the weather and generally feeling like pure hell. Listening to your clips totally got me through this awful week. The genuine, lovable spirit that you both bring to your videos is such a "feel good" trip. Thank you thank you thank you. Love from Philadelphia USA.
Your videos just get better and better - the editing, the camera angles, the food. Yet you still manage to keep the humor and quirkiness - so Kyde and Eric. It's always a treat to watch one of these long vids. Guess I have to hit that Patreon page.
AHHHHHH !!!.....the long awaited Part-4 of your tour to vietnam,,,,,,,im a bit late to the show , but pretty excited to have you two swagger round Nam and show me the sights, sounds, smells & your insightful K&E experiences of part-4...soo stoked for the adventures & culinary surprises that awaits....!! i really hope there's a part 5,6,7 :)
23:23 - Since you did not decide, she put everything in: mung-bean (green), soy-bean (white), peanut (gray), sesame (black), corn (yellow), taro (purple). Normally, we eat just one or each of them separately - if we can stomach all. 25:50 - You are eating at a Chinese restaurant. You are eating firstly “bánh bao - Tai Pao in Chinese”, then eating Chinese noodle soup which consists of sliced pork meat, wonton, wheat noodle, chive, green onion, etc... 42:00 - Kyde is eating “Mì Quảng” which is rice noodle soup originated from Quảng Ngải in central of Vietnam.
The date on your snacks doesn't mean the day it expiers . It said the day it was made, and the " HSD: 3 tháng" means it is good in 3 months after the producing day.
Great video, my wife and I are starting from Hanoi and travelling to Ho Chi Minh so this video was a good insight. You looked like you had a good time. I enjoyed the food with you I think, and Eric, thanks for explaining the complicated money even though I'm British I did get it. Thanks to you both.
+llanbradach Awesome, we are super jealous you will be making the trek all the way from Hanoi to HMC! We will certainly be returning someday to do it ourselves! Enjoy! -E
It wasn't that much of a cheap holiday for us, not when you take into consideration the air fare and hotel bills, after being there I understand that Ho Chi Minh was Saigon, I now refer to it as Saigon. Thank you for your blunt comment.
Hallo, it's great to know that you travelled to my country :). Hope you two enjoyed it. Next time, if you guys travel to Vietnam, I would be very happy if I could help you with some information about the local food and habits :). Welcome and thanks a lot :)
OMG, POOR KYDE with the spiders while going potty! I totally feel you on that. Blech! D: (though I would be lying if I said I didn't giggle a little bit, but I am absolutely terrified of spiders as well).
Your spider pooping problem had me thinking about this bridge in Vietnam that always reeked so bad when my father and I crossed it on motorbike. Like a high traffic road bridge. My father told me that people poop from off the bridge, and I thought he was joking. But then one day we actually came across a man with his pants pulled down sitting on the bridge rail. Those alpine coasters have an automated brake system so even if you don't brake those cars are supposed to keep you from breaking a certain speed limit. I once stayed at an open home where a stray cat always wandered through. Like the homeowner doesn't own the cat or anything and cat just does whatever it wants. I always tried to pet it, but then it attacked me. I cried like a baby and never bothered it again.
nice saucony shoes kyde! I have a pair in blue and lime green and I wear them to work in . Im a line cook and they're the most comfortable lightweight shoes I've ever worn.
25:45 that white cake is called Banh Bao. As we know pizza tastes best when you have it right after it's taken out of brick oven. That cake tastes best right after it's taken out of its steamy pot. It's cooked by steaming it in a huge boiling pot for about an hour. It's normally served in the morning.
at 55:25 "Cicarones" are probably actually "Shrimp Crackers". They're little discs of shrimp and flour dried and compressed discs that expand to a huge size when deepfried.
I absolutely love your videos! I'm very into the culture of Japan and have been for a couple of years now. I really hope in the future I can do what you guys are doing now traveling around different parts of the country! You guys are sooooooo lucky! Can't wait to see more of your videos later in the future :) ♡
Tami Hz We never check a bag. Here is a rather old video of what Kyde brought on our 13 month trip around Asia. ua-cam.com/video/fc-CAxAnAmk/v-deo.html -Eric
YEAH!!!! A new video! and I'm kind of mad my phone didn't notify me the second it came up... But I feel like by now, you guys should put a "last time in Kyde and Eric adventures trough Vietnam..." because I feel like i'm loosing track of it :(
For a second there I thought that the thing in the banana leaf in the bbq place was a "tamal" (a Mexican dish made savory or sweet made with a corn base dough and its cooked in a leaf, it can be a banana leaf or a corn leaf / it depends on the region) And with all the Mexican food theme in the video it didn't seem out of place...
Ricardo Llamas yea, the space between each Vietnam video is wider than I expected it to be, but it's just how it all landed. You can always go back and watch the last episode again! Haha. -Eric
Awesome video Kyde & Eric! I know how much work you had to put in to film & edit this. I actually started making travel videos as well while I was abroad this summer in Europe! Anyways, just stopping by to say great job, keep it up!
Wow look at you, probably the quickest response I've ever seen haha. But you two totally deserve it, who does most of the editing? Also if you get a chance I'd really love your feedback on some of my videos I'm always trying to improve!
Well good work dude. It's always such a process putting together a quality video. I swear for every 3-5 min video I made it took 2-4 hours of editing to put together. I can't even imagine the amount of work your putting in to make these masterpieces!
your videos bring me happiness every time. Thank you for always sharing your travels with us. And Damn it, those dumplings, I really wanna taste them Dx
At 13:11 that is the city of Lien Khuong. My cousin's coffee shop is about 50 yards ahead of you at that moment. A little bit further down is another one of my cousin's house which is the sister of the coffee shop owner. There is an airport directly in front of the camera when you recorded the circular road.
Had a big smile @ 22.10. When your sitting in your room partially showered and then, just to top it off, the sound of them cutting tiles with a grinder next door ;>) Pure $6 a night Vietnam ;>)
Nothing like another Vietnam video! Don't worry Kyde, i'd be in the same boat as you if I saw two spiders and then a grasshopper decided to jump on my pants. I would have been gone, pants or no pants! lol
All of the food looked so good! Now I'm hungry. I swear every time I watch one of your videos I end up starving. Sunscreen expires and loses effectiveness. Since the soda was expired, i would guess that the sunscreen probably was as well.
you shouldnt put anything on the sun burns, especially oils, because although it might feel somewhat better, it makes the burn deeper and it will heal longer.
Okay, I really need to go see the Crazy House before I go totally blind. Every time I watch this I'm just so charmed by the whole thing, it's just so weird and awesome.
Kyde you lost a sock, You had to poop in spidery bushes, You had no hot water, and you and Eric got roasted. Considering what you went through. Your hair looked AWESOME.
💞❤️Love Ms. Kyde and Mr. Erick👫🌹 Always feel better when watching U2 and Interesting Videos. Eric Is So Cute & Funny whole hearted man... And Kyde Is So So Cute& Funny and ...Innocent 🐣
To Square Fenix: you asking Eric How he was being treated in foreign countries ... Am sure he was treated "Good" "Decent" in Vietnam. Vietnamese People are Mostly Very Very Nice& Friendly People. They Love Foreigners, Really💐
Enjoyed your video like always, started to watch ur RTW again, one question.. do u go geocaching? Ur missing somethings on ur videos to make a little better, they r great as they r,just be awesome to see bloppers or outakes ,also including ur visits names(hotels, etc) n include them in the video like ur city name visits..n if u eat something nice to know the name of food,if known..great job, take care.
Kyde and Eric Are Too Cute 🎉🎈💐 And your Video Series Episodes Getting Better and Better. Love Vietnam 👈🏼 Thank You So much For Sharing🙏 P.S. But Stay Away from Street (Cooked) Food that Been Sat in The Open Air Without Any kind of Covers I Would Think😝
Have you guys ever been on the luge? I mean if you liked the rollercoaster thing you'd love that as well, not sure if they have them anywhere else but theyre pretty common in New Zealand.
I love your videos so much!!!!! If you have a chance to come to the States, and still love Viet food, come to California in Orange County- esp in Little Saigon in garden grove !!!! I'd love to show you guys around !:)
How did I find this video? I thought ýou guys posted this video earlier this morning. I was watching the vietnam episodes again and noticed part 4 was out.
Another great vid!!! Love all the food....I think the pink pork thing wrapped in the banana leaf your suppose to eat raw,it's like a cured pork I think......did it taste sour???
25:00 the Pork bun is a popular Chinese snack call Salapao. It's the best. The stuffed Tofu Kyde had earlier, usually steamed. The first time I saw it fried. You guys made me war to just packed up and leave!!! 41:00 That is Ox tail. Yummy!
Ha ha ha. Also, the meat thingy wrapped in banana leafs at the BBQ rip off place is called NAM in Thais. Usually comes longer but it's one of my favorite Laos/Isaanish food. Goes great with beer or Hong Tong. I hope to see you guys on the road one of these days for food fest.
street vendors or shop owners in Vietnam normally charge foreigners the "foreigners' price". a typical pork rice should cost arounnd 30k to 40k VND but they probably will charge foreigners 50k to 80k.
I've got a question, it may seem shallow but do you think you get treated better as humans in other countries like vietnam, because you're caucasian and taller than them? Like they get curious, become friendlier and you got those discounts because of race. It's something many don't dare to talk about but I think it's something you might give more insight into.
ATRAPS Haha, well, yea, it takes a very long time. I spend about two weeks on a video of this length. It kind of depends on the footage, sometimes I can edit things really fast if they don't require much attention, but then if there are lots of cuts and stuff I can easily dump an hour into a minute of footage. -Eric
1:09 Plate of fruit for breakfast at the hotel? Other than the orange/tangerine looking things that stuff looks like it's from another planet. Did you get breakfast on the Starship Enterprise?
Kyde and Eric Ya dragonfruit and whatever from the 7th moon of Jupiter? Lemme guess, next episode "We eat Venusian sand worm larvae and drink Romulan ale!" If you guys ever do a kickstarter to get into outer space, I'll totally fund it. Just send me a postcard from somewhere in the Andromeda galaxy. (Or take me with you. I'm familiar with the native customs....:-P)
expiration dates aren't definitive. They are when the food loses optimal taste. You can eat something past its expiration date and be fine. Like, for example, soda. Although that depends ENTIRELY on where and how the food was made.
I love you guys. I am a graphic artist and I work in a high pressure job designing bank cards for a French company. The job is total stress, but luckily, I get to "listen" to UA-cam in my headphones all day. This week, I have been totally under the weather and generally feeling like pure hell. Deborah Barger Haha, you have a fantastic point. -Eric
You two are awesome, never change.
aletoledo1 We will try! -Eric

I've got a question, it may seem shallow but do you think you get treated better as humans in other countries like vietnam, because you're caucasian and taller than them?
Like they get curious, become friendlier and you got those discounts because of race. It's something many don't dare to talk about but I think it's something you might give more insight into.
how long does it take to edit these videos? From my experience, it took me 2 hours to edit a 10 min video.
-Eric
Great video!
sslcfc Thanks! -Eric
what you saw laying out to dry in the sun is raw coffee .

This house reminds me of Antoni Gaudí house in Spain. His work resembles that house. The weirdness.
Oh neat, hope we can visit that one too! -E
1:09 Plate of fruit for breakfast at the hotel? Other than the orange/tangerine looking things that stuff looks like it's from another planet. Did you get breakfast on the Starship Enterprise?
Joe Blow Haha, just dragonfruit or whatever. Good stuff! -Eric
At 1:05:24 did Kyde say "Doumo"(どうも!) to the tiger girl after she said "thank you"? Wow it's so Japanese! But maybe I heard wrong.
emimura No, she said whatever "thank you" is in Vietnamese, which I have since forgotten. -Eric
Kyde and Eric Thank you Eric! Cảm ơn!
expiration dates aren't definitive. They are when the food loses optimal taste. You can eat something past its expiration date and be fine. Like, for example, soda. Although that depends ENTIRELY on where and how the food was made.
