    Another great video Mike. FYI when you go to wind up the spring again to put the zip ties on put the gear that goes next to the main gear in. Then put a screw driver in that gear so it doesnt move. Then you can wind the gear up. Then you will have to remove that screw driver to allow the spring to go tight into the zip ties. Keep up the great work. I agree with you that this isnt the quality of work that Seth Thomas normally does.

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  Рік тому

      I didn't even think of adding the gear because I was thinking of just getting the spring back in and keep it from hanging up on the stops. I will check that out next time. Funny thing, I watch Seth Thomas and I think he cleans the clock before he makes the videos, lol. The movement is always so shiny.

    That Key is Huge. Pretty Loud For Such A Small Clock.

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  Рік тому

      You want a huge key for easy winding on this clock. With the door shut, the clock is a bit quieter, but you can adjust the hammer for a lighter gong. Thanks so much for stopping by Bat.

    Mike, I just acquired a clock identical to yours, except for the dial and wood finish. On mine the latch on the brass/glass door is broken. Could you post some pics of how it is made, so that I can repair mine properly. Mine has Seth Thomas on the Dial and 9-28-53 on the label so it is probably a newer version. Thanks for the pics. Ron

      @justmike57  Рік тому +1

      Hey, Ron. Below my video I have my email address. Shot me an email and I will send you those pictures. I do believe Seth Thomas also used this brand for their clocks and not sure it that is because they might have been a cheaper clock and didn't want to dirty their name incase the clock movement was a fail or what. Thanks for stopping in my friend.

    You would not know this has a pendulum in the back unless you hear the tick-talk. How many days will it run on a wind?

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  Рік тому +1

      Most these older clocks are an 8 day clock. I think this is a cool factor on these clocks for as loud as they tick. Thanks for watching Bob.

    Mike I have one of the A200-018 and I am having trouble getting the count snail to strike the right time. The snail is very weird looking any suggestion?

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  8 місяців тому

      The lever that drops onto the snail, should drop onto the snail about a 1/4 inch or so from the rising part of the snail when it starts to strike.. The best way is to move the snail around to strike the 12 o'clock hour. Then when the hands move to the 12:30, the lever should be hovering above the 1:00 area of strike. You would have to lift the snail up a little and move it one tooth on the gear that sets next to the snail if you need to adjust it.

    Hello! i have the same clock mechanizim i'm trying to fix, but the Pendolum seems to be sliping after 3-4 ticks, Any recommendations for a fix would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  4 місяці тому

      I am not sure what you mean by Sliping. If you mean the pendulum is stopping, The clock might need cleaned and or fresh oil on each of the pivots, both sides of the movement. Also helps to put a little oil on the paddles from the pendulum to the first gear so the gear doesn't drag on the pallets.

  • @Iseekoutthetruth

    That's A lot of gears. Loud Clock.

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  Рік тому

      The amount of gears are the same unless the clock plays a tune. Some times it gets to be mind boggling, but I get-er-done. Thank for watching Bat.

    Another thing you might want to do is replace the mainsprings with weaker ones, they're way to strong in this movement

    • @justmike57
      @justmike57  Рік тому

      It might be an idea, but would rather have what came with the clock. Also, less money to put into the clock the better. You might be surprised how much I spend in parts and supplies.
