    Prewet all wood and surrounding area
    Apply sodium Metasilicate 4ozs per gallon in warm water with pump sprayer or 12v
    Dwell 5-10mins - do not let it dry
    Rinse with the grain inch by inch 6-12” away with 800-1200psi (Jrod 2510 tip)
    Wet wood and surrounding area
    Apply Oxalic acid 4-8ozs per gallon of warm water in separate pump sprayer
    Dwell for 10-20 mins
    Rinse off 2 boards at a time
    Done - I’m a Wood Restoration Professional
    I do this everyday of the season and there’s 2 better products above Sodium Metasilicate that make it even easier with the best results. But only pros use them.
    And for the record Everett (Wizard of Wood) used
    Sodium Hypochlorite (sh, bleach) worst
    Sodium Percarbonate (eco friendly) good
    Sodium Metasilicate (better)
    Sodium Hydroxide (Best)

      What are the two best ..sodium hydroxide and? Thanks @arpropertyservices2957

    • @arpropertyservices2957
      @arpropertyservices2957 2 роки тому +1

      @@Swschrader Sodium Hydroxide is only for pros/experts. It’s literally liquid fire and anything it touches will be stripped of paint or damaged.
      If you are going to go with the top 2 then it’s definitely Sodium Metasilicate as #1 and Eco-Friendly Sodium Percarbonate for #2. Both of these solutions must be neutralized/brightened after with Oxalic Acid.
      However if you/client can afford it, use GreenOx Renew. It’s 100% Eco-Friendly and also very easy to use as it’s one step only with no neutralizing step after.

    • @Swschrader
      @Swschrader 2 роки тому

      @@arpropertyservices2957 thanks! What if you don’t have access to warm water on site do you pre mix batches before? Do you ever mix your own chemicals to make a Cleansol comp ie sodium hydroxide/tetrasodium edta or you prefer the results of the other choices.

    • @arpropertyservices2957
      @arpropertyservices2957 2 роки тому +1

      @@Swschrader So I always premix all and all above are usually good for 30 days+. Sodium percarbonate is the only one that is good for about 60-90 mins after mixing. I also have an actual power washer that can make hot water. I premix in 5gallon pails and store them. I also buy bulk 25kg bags of each chem. Cleansol is great but more for oxidation on Metal - specifically aluminum. Great for gutters, soffits and aluminum siding. My tests on wood with cleansol bc weren’t as satisfying Vs meta/ox or hydroxide/ox blends. Plus cleansol bc is relatively cheap. It’s like $29.99 a gal in 🇨🇦 then mixed 4:1 and then down streamed for most cases.

    FYI: If you used 4 cups of Cleansol BC for 2.5 gallons of water, you mixed it WAY too strong! That stuff is extremely concentrated. Instructions on the bottle are to first "dilute 4-1 to make product ready to use." That's 4 gallons of water to one gallon of BC. THEN a strong batch would be to make a 10-1 batch for "heavy soil." With 16 cups in a gallon, your mixture should have been more around 1 cup of Cleansol BC.

    Cool...what about pool bleach? A 10% solution. (concentrate is ~ 5% or 6%) At $2 to $3 per gallon. 2 cups per gallon of water.
    Especially if light sanding and restraining outside wood. Could use for 3rd coat areas or final spray ... for more even staining (color). Just a thought.
    More time than money. OR, use first ... (kills alge et al). Then see how well your better/more expensive chemicals work on pre cleaned wood.
    Good for you ... having your own business. That's what people need. More choices. Competition with competitive prices. (Prices a "worker" can increase/decrease as needed/desired to feed his family). Not a corporation who dictates every price a "worker" can charge.
    You control who gets $25 off ... who gets charged $25 more. (Off a base price you call the shots on.)
    You and customer may both be in a position to get the job done for $25 less than usual. Or, either or.
    But, YOUR decision to give someone a break (and make it up somewhere else) vs walk away from a potential offer/job. No one above you making that decision for you.
    Wishing you ... your family well.
