Hey man just found your channel and i love all you Pressure washing content appreciate you putting out all this information for beginners like me... Thanks from SC
Hey man i was able to get sodium metasilicate from a chem distributor ( I am in Canada ) 50 lb bag for $84 after taxes try buying from industrial chem companies get wayyyy better rates. Been trying to get my hands on some cleansol it's near impossible where I'm at sadly.... Love your videos though nice to see you're educating yourself by taking courses keep up the great work!!
Thanks for the video zay. I'm doing more decks now and it's helpful to see how you clean them. Especially the top of those rails. Those have been a little awkward!
Hey Zay awesome videos, what do you do for a stained wood deck with a lot of organic growth on it. I tried using SH, but it was stripping the stain. Keep grinding man
Hey did you ever drop the part two staining video! Also thank you for the knowledge I am a member of your course and I appreciate everything you do. You cant find this type of knowledge at the prices you offer! Thank you!
Zay Hey Brother, what would you Charge at a flat rate to pressure wash a whole sub division of Apts? All Apts have a breeze way also .There are 32 buildings in total
hey Zay!! cool video do you charge seperatley for the cleaning and staining or do you package it all in as a whole wood restoration. Im having doubts about pricing can you help me out?
Have you tried sodium percarbonate on wood? I know there are a bunch that can be used, just asking out of curiosity. Thank you for another informative vid Zay!
Zay, thanks for this video and sharing your knowledge. Looks like you’ve been hanging onto it for a year or so. 😊. Do you also use sodium percarbonate as well instead of the metasilicate? I have a chemistry background and if you care, 😊the pronunciation is meta-SIL-I-cate. Thanks, again.
Hey Zay. You should be able to purchase sodium metasilicate raw in large bags like you have oxalic. I buy it here in New Zealand way cheaper than that kind of price
Prewet all wood and surrounding area Apply sodium Metasilicate 4ozs per gallon in warm water with pump sprayer or 12v Dwell 5-10mins - do not let it dry Rinse with the grain inch by inch 6-12” away with 800-1200psi (Jrod 2510 tip) Wet wood and surrounding area Apply Oxalic acid 4-8ozs per gallon of warm water in separate pump sprayer Dwell for 10-20 mins Rinse off 2 boards at a time Done - I’m a Wood Restoration Professional I do this everyday of the season and there’s 2 better products above Sodium Metasilicate that make it even easier with the best results. But only pros use them. And for the record Everett (Wizard of Wood) used Sodium Hypochlorite (sh, bleach) worst Sodium Percarbonate (eco friendly) good Sodium Metasilicate (better) Sodium Hydroxide (Best)
@@Swschrader Sodium Hydroxide is only for pros/experts. It’s literally liquid fire and anything it touches will be stripped of paint or damaged. If you are going to go with the top 2 then it’s definitely Sodium Metasilicate as #1 and Eco-Friendly Sodium Percarbonate for #2. Both of these solutions must be neutralized/brightened after with Oxalic Acid. However if you/client can afford it, use GreenOx Renew. It’s 100% Eco-Friendly and also very easy to use as it’s one step only with no neutralizing step after.
@@arpropertyservices2957 thanks! What if you don’t have access to warm water on site do you pre mix batches before? Do you ever mix your own chemicals to make a Cleansol comp ie sodium hydroxide/tetrasodium edta or you prefer the results of the other choices.
@@Swschrader So I always premix all and all above are usually good for 30 days+. Sodium percarbonate is the only one that is good for about 60-90 mins after mixing. I also have an actual power washer that can make hot water. I premix in 5gallon pails and store them. I also buy bulk 25kg bags of each chem. Cleansol is great but more for oxidation on Metal - specifically aluminum. Great for gutters, soffits and aluminum siding. My tests on wood with cleansol bc weren’t as satisfying Vs meta/ox or hydroxide/ox blends. Plus cleansol bc is relatively cheap. It’s like $29.99 a gal in 🇨🇦 then mixed 4:1 and then down streamed for most cases.
FYI: If you used 4 cups of Cleansol BC for 2.5 gallons of water, you mixed it WAY too strong! That stuff is extremely concentrated. Instructions on the bottle are to first "dilute 4-1 to make product ready to use." That's 4 gallons of water to one gallon of BC. THEN a strong batch would be to make a 10-1 batch for "heavy soil." With 16 cups in a gallon, your mixture should have been more around 1 cup of Cleansol BC.
Cool...what about pool bleach? A 10% solution. (concentrate is ~ 5% or 6%) At $2 to $3 per gallon. 2 cups per gallon of water. Especially if light sanding and restraining outside wood. Could use for 3rd coat areas or final spray ... for more even staining (color). Just a thought. More time than money. OR, use first ... (kills alge et al). Then see how well your better/more expensive chemicals work on pre cleaned wood. Good for you ... having your own business. That's what people need. More choices. Competition with competitive prices. (Prices a "worker" can increase/decrease as needed/desired to feed his family). Not a corporation who dictates every price a "worker" can charge. You control who gets $25 off ... who gets charged $25 more. (Off a base price you call the shots on.) You and customer may both be in a position to get the job done for $25 less than usual. Or, either or. But, YOUR decision to give someone a break (and make it up somewhere else) vs walk away from a potential offer/job. No one above you making that decision for you. Wishing you ... your family well.

That’s absolutely amazing!
Will Cleansol Bc, and Oxalic Acid Hurt decks that are stained or painted ?
Awesome Video Thanks

Do you rinse off the oxalic or spray and let it stay?
Hey Zay awesome videos, what do you do for a stained wood deck with a lot of organic growth on it. I tried using SH, but it was stripping the stain. Keep grinding man
Proud of you man! Did you use a semi transparent or solid stain for this deck? Or other?
Semi transparent, you can see it in the part 2 video
Hey did you ever drop the part two staining video! Also thank you for the knowledge I am a member of your course and I appreciate everything you do. You cant find this type of knowledge at the prices you offer! Thank you!
this is awesome literally going tomorrow to wash and stain a deck
Ok, first time deck cleaner here! So which cleaner did you say worked best? And how hard is if rinsed with a rinsed with a regular old water hose?
Great info!!!
What ryobi sprayer are you using
What degree soft wash nozzle are you using and where did you acquire yours from? Look for recommendations.
Im redoing a stained deck next week, would you consider doing sodium percarbonate and oxaylic acid? or go with the SH and oxaylic acid after?
That looks fantastic
hey zay how long did you leave the oxalic sitting on the deck for before you rinsed it?
Zay Hey Brother, what would you Charge at a flat rate to pressure wash a whole sub division of Apts? All Apts have a breeze way also .There are 32 buildings in total
Thanks for the video! Could you provide a link for the Ryobi sprayer that you use? I cannot seem to find one like that.
What would have been the mix ratio for each chemical if you were to use your xjet?
Could u use a back spray to spray or is ot easier with bucket and Ryobi power washer??
what's the ratio you do sm & oxalic acid?
Very valuable info thank you!
Any tips suggestion on washing cedar wood? Or this process can work the same on cedar?
With decks i worry about using too much pressure or not enough.
Excellent video! Thank you
Do you think pressure washing would remove all the paint on a deck? It’s pretty flakey already but some still sticks.
Sanding
thanks for the content, I'm right down the road from ya!
How long did you let each product sit for?? That deck came out sick!!
Good stuff! 👍🏻
hey Zay!! cool video do you charge seperatley for the cleaning and staining or do you package it all in as a whole wood restoration. Im having doubts about pricing can you help me out?
What quimicals are u using and how to mix it with down stream, where I can buy them ?
So which one do. You prefer?
To be honest the results were kinda equal to me but I like cleansol
Do you rinse the acid off after or leave it?
Rinse
What percent of sh do you recommend using on decks?
Can you wash a roof with that Ryobi unit?
Great job
Thanks Zay.

Heya Shaun. Where bouts do ya buy the metasilicate from? I'm in Whangarei NZ, I'm keen to give this a go and give my deck a revamp
@@tepouogle969 I get mine from envirochem in auckland. They order it in for me
