this song was playing in my car on way home from hospital after being told my son was going to be stillborn.Cried like i didnt know i could then had to act brave for my wife and kids.This song helped me through a lot of the pain i had inside due to heartbreak and loss.God bless you jbj i salute you and yours.

Every single time I hear this song, i cry... 23 years ago I lost my grandmother. I was 14 years old but she meant the world for me, she was my everything, my rock, the other part of my soul. 3 days before she died, we moved from our old house where generations lived. That alone was very difficult for her. She lost her husband when she was only 32 years old. She cared for the farm and her 2 young boys. She never remarried because she always said that she loved my grandfather too much. Every single day she visited his grave just around the corner of our house, every single day she brought him flowers. And then, we moved, she had to say goodbye for a second time.
After she died, everything changed... It's been such a long time and I still miss her every single day. The song describes my life and loss word by word but I believe she guides me every single day. I'll hope one day we meet again.

I'm 73, a survivor of 31 months of combat in Nam, 5 divorces, raised 3 kids by myself, 2 girls and a son. For the last 5 years of mom's life I was her care giver at home, the place I grew up in. I got up one morning and asked mom what she wanted for breakfast, she said one biscuit and some sausage . I made it and when she was done eating I started to wash the dishes. A strange feeling hit my neck like a sledge hammer. I turned and mom was rolling her eyes back in her head. No mouth to mouth helped, no chest CPR helped. To this very day I can only remeber calling my older brother and saying mom's gone. Had a VA shrink tell me my mind couldn't deal with anymore close to the heart pain. I miss mom so much, such a sweet Scots/Irish lady. Guess I had to finally let mom go.

The emotion in this song is so genuine. I've been a BJ fan for well over 30 years now ... since "Runaway" ... and although I do like some current music, too, it is so hard to find music that brings up the same depth of emotion the BJ songs bring up. No matter how many times I listen to this, the emotion is still there. I have so much respect for this band!!!!

I lost my loved brother in 2013. I am a different person from that day. It took me 6 years to listen to music again. Now, every music reminds me my brother. This is one of them because I will never let my brother go as long as I live.

And every night she prayed that the angels would make her dad alive again and wonder why they haven't done so yet? Because she said she wanted to hug her dad. I've always considered "These Days" was the best album from this band, but I never really liked this song a lot... that all changed the 24th of June of 2011 when my grandmother passed away. It's interesting how the music we know gets different meanings due to the things we go through in our lives. Now I'm a 24 year old guy but I cry like a child everytime I hear this song. Bon Jovi is the only band that can make me cry with their songs.
