I agree with old dancing granny that it is an obsessed fan mocking your eBay listings at a higher price so that yours will sell faster . . . such a nice fan.
Dave, they could be drop shipping from you. Someone buys theirs for more and then they buy it from you for less and have you ship it to their buyer and they pocked the extra. As far as shipping is concerned be sure to take a look at pirate ship. I have actually seen it cheaper lately and that is crazy.
Shipping to different address is a big no no especially for high value items resulting in no seller protection. Could be same process but they take delivery from Dave and then ship on. The shipping time if high would indicate this is what is going on where they have added Dave's shipping time to their standard time and therefore end up with extended shipping times
I had some people do it to me and it bothered me at first, what I found out about my drop shipper was they shipped to other countries cheaper than eBay Global, personally for me they are filling a niche and helping us sell our items. These are the people who ask a ton of questions about how to pack their item because when they receive the order they just slap a label on top of your label and send it on its way to another country. It's just a reseller like us with a different method of sourcing. Plus they are driving up the cost of items and not lowering the cost.
Sell the comics. You’re a seller not a speculator. Otherwise you’ll have fronted the $600 grading to wait 5 years to potentially see a bigger profit. You’ll probably have even more sales in general in the next 5 years instead of holding the comics for that time length.
You made the right decision on selling ...I sold thousands of premium silver and bronze age comics on eBay 20+ years ago....yes prices on some are much higher but you free up funds to invest or buy and sell other things. I never regretted any sale if I made a profit....
Finally broke down and bought a wireless thermal printer black Friday and got a MUNBYN and love it so far. $84.99 Able to print from my phone. Game changer and time saver
I bought a Jadens 4x6 desktop thermal printer. It's wired but that doesn't bother me, it's small and easily moves because the roll of labels is stored inside the printer. I think it was around $70 on Amazon. I did the package deal with a bunch of label rolls for around $125. Works great.
Even as a comic collector and seller myself ... that 2020 time was just insane. Same as Pokemon and sports cards. So the market is down for now. Sure the values will go up over time ("when in doubt, zoom out") but I can't imagine it booming again like it did. You have plenty of profit in them so get that money. As for a printer, I have a Jadens thermal printer from Amazon that was maybe $70. It can either hold a roll in it, or has an opening in the back to take the straight feed like those fancy Rollos. I bought wired because I don't need wireless. It was super easy setup and I haven't had an issue since.
You said exactly what I was about to write your flipper not a collector And he is a drop shipper It happens to me a lot they copy my ads then probably promote at a higher rate if they do it enough times they’ll make sales. They probably have software to do it I thought about putting my eBay store name in background so it doesn’t happen
That happened to me on one of my listings for a whole set of cutco knives! One of the in ones! Same pics and exact word in description too! I reported it to eBay and they made them take it down!
Check the address if you can of the person who bought your comic book then check the address of the person who copied your listing and see if the address matches
I had this before. On lower value item though. I took it as a lazy seller or someone with no picture taking capability. I did not take down as lose watchers through this. In end contacted ebay and they contacted other person, and pictures were changed
I have found sellers selling hundreds of my items over the years, some even on other websites. I came to the conclusion that it really does not matter, put up the price that you are willing to accept and everything else is free advertising for your item :)
Forgot to mention that one time I found thousands of my items cloned and on another store front independent of eBay in another foreign market. Ultimately it all comes back to your listing. Lots of bots out there.
One last story on this front there was one other time one of my higher value collectible was being sold for about $100 less than mine on another website, the only thing I could figure was money laundering. BTW all of these examples used my titles and pictures verbatim.
The copy is jus th sell similiar feature in ebay. Some do that because it takes really long to put in rite categories & item specifics and then to list, they had to save ur fotos then uploaded. Some copy titles for search ranking as well.
They took the first comic listing down because you sold it. They are drop shipping off of you buying it cheaper and selling it higher. The reason that their picture is different now is because you emailed them and so they changed the picture.
I think it's someone drop shipping as well. There's a lot of people doing that now. Also could be, it's a possibility they have the same item and don't want to take time to take pics?
The question is 50-10,000% worth 5 years? I got the Vretti label printer and if you download the bartender driver for the printer over the one that’s provided then it works great, had scaling issues with the driver on the USB they give you and took me about a week to fix.
I would not like someone doing that to my stuff! If it gets bought for the higher price. They buy from you. They get money a profit for not doing anything but copying your posting. And you have to pack, ship, and have all liability for it. I don’t like anything about that! eBay should not allow anyone to copy a listing that is not theirs! Hopefully yours sell first! Great videos!!
I don’t think I’d hold for 5 years, but I would hold onto those Fantastic Four for another 12-18 months, as Marvel is getting ready to introduce the FF into the MCU.
I've had several ppl use my pictures to sell their items on Mercari & Ebay... pisses me off so I'll message them, ask them to remove my photos or I'll contact Mercari/Ebay... they usually always remove my photos... sooo annoying!
5 years. Sell it, and keep using the money to make more money, keep it moving. Or, invest in the market. But, your best bet is to use the money to buy and sell and bring in more.
It sounds more like the opinion to hold the comics for 5 years is not as a ‘collector’ but as an investor. Your current business strategy is not set up as an investment business, you are a re-selling store. Moving inventory at a regular basis is what your model relies on to keep you profitable. You’d have to change direction, spending habits, and strategy to rely more on investments. The TL: DR I’d sell the comics. It’s what your business is supposed to do.
Dave I agree with most here it’s a drop shipper. I get a few a month but they are for much more mundane items. I don’t care as long as they pay. Comics are like the stock market. I collected for five or six years when I was a kid. I made a ledger eventually and once every few years I would buy a price guide and figure out by hand what it was worth. It was over 10k at one point. The last time I did it barely over 5k. If something gets popular again it would pop. When I had a one of my recent day jobs I would loose track because the bosses would contact me every day and yeah I put up with it for years but this year was enough
I stopped sellin comics in ebay. I had a nice direct edition version and i sold for 50. Buyer swapped for his crappy copy , opened case , sent bak an demanded refund. I got his crap copy. And had to partial refund him in the end. Total bs.
My biggest fear in saving it for another 5 years is that something may happen to it. It gets damaged, lost, etc. Then you are out totally. I would sell it, get your money and reinvest.
If you are going to insure an item you should use a 3rd party like pirateship. The postal insurance is a scam and has never paid us out for anything that was damaged. If it's lost they will pay out but you are way better off using 3rd party insurance!
Yea, he's a another reseller that is buying from you to resell on eBay or another site, done all the time with sellers who don't have a lot of inventory
100% Drop Shipper. What is most likely happening is he is advertising his listing outside of eBay on other websites and places with collectors. At $2000, he'd make a couple hundred dollars without having to have that comic book or ship it. At $2600, he will make $800 without ever having to actually own the comic.
I don't know about drop shipping because he or she would need to change the shipping address to you in order for you to ship to the new drop ship addresses. He most likely is, or possibly setting a more shipping time on his end to possibly purchase yours once, or if, his sells first. He then may wait to received the item from you, then he ships the item over night. I know that seems a bit far fetched, but is it? If he's making a few hundie, well? What is his feedback look like on his shipping? I would personally call eBay to see what they would say about it. Hopefully you would speak to someone who knows what they are talking about when it comes to issues like this. Have a groovy day Dave.
I Sell Comic on ebay and it happens to me some times to which in anoying be careful as higher listed comics people will some times buy them and say they got damaged in delivery to get ebay to refund them and get it for free or they have one and its in bad condition and say you scammed them and sent the bad one in its place, This happened to me once lucky i took pictures of the CGC Certification No. and when they sent me photos i asked them to show me the CGC Certification No in the pics and i never heard from them again or it could be a drop shipper as the image shows the CGC Certification No. in the pictures you can get ebay to remove their listing as its not the item they are selling as you are selling it as their can only be one with that CGC Certification No.
If you hold the comics for 5 years you might make more (be sure to adjust selling price for inflation), however If you sell now you can roll the profits back into your business for the next 5 years and in the long run probably make more off the same initial investment. How many times in 5 years could you reinvest and reprofit in that time?
Haha.... raise your price to just under theirs... then there would be no profit for them. Back in the day I would report this kind of person for using my photos and ebay would remove their listing. I don't think ebay would do that now, but maybe ask?
If it was mine, I'd report them for stealing my photos. Probably low chance of financial loss, just IP theft. You could block them out of spite (and ding their account if they manage to sell your comic...) or just let it go and focus on making money. No wrong options here, in my mind.
Rod is right…they have a higher price, if it sells then buy yours/tell you to ship without receipt. Totally was going to say that…anyone spell “drop shipper”?
Drop shipping. If their listing sells they would buy yours for the lower price and ask you to ship to a different address without an invoice. I'd report to ebay because they are not allowed to use your photos, block the person, and if you get a sale that wants you to ship to a different address, cancel the listing and tell them they need to repurchase with the address they have on file with ebay.
Happened to me a few times in the last few years, I contacted the seller asking him to stop using my pictures and he did, he didnt explained anything at all, he only ended the listing
Kind of surprised you’ve never heard of drop shipping. It’s frowned upon but eBay lets people do it. They mark it up, when their listing sells they buy it off you and profit the difference.
You can drop ship someone else product but you are running risks to your store in the process. Also unless your pictures are copy written someone can use them and copy your listing it’s not illegal and it’s not against policy if they can deliver the product. I do beleive someone watched your videos on comics and decided to do this to your store.
Reselling your item. they buy it and list it for higher. ive seen this a few times. Its easy to do that for items like this that have rare availability. I never understood that because how much do you actually make. same thing with drop shippers.
Take it as a compliment! You take better pictures than him so he stole yours 😂. It’s not a good idea on his end since his actual comics may have slightly different wear/quirks. But his problem!
So I'm super confused... if the expression is DIBBS, what exactly is Dibbed it? Wouldn't it be Dibbsed it? I just thought there was an S in there. Where did the S go? Maybe I'm missing something?? ✌️💜
If at all possible make sure you are not selling to the person that is copying your comic listings. That is so uncool of them if they are actually posting a listing that they do not have yet, with your photos, hoping to buy it from you.
He figures if it doesn't sell he only lost 30 cents on a listing fee. If he lucks out and someone buys it. Then he will buy one from you or someone else online for as cheap as possible and he might make a thousand dollars if he's lucky.
Somebody is drop shipping your products. Somebody was doing the same thing with my Pokémon cards that I had listed. I caught onto it. I canceled all their orders and I let them know that I did not appreciate what they were doing. They asked me what did I care as long as my item sold, I said because you’re basically scalping my prices
Check with your customers if they've been approached to do a review on a different site with them pretending to be the 'seller'. A simple hijack of a verified sale.
Could the person have two accounts. Account 1 purchased the item from you. Account 2 lists same item and sells it for more....somewhat like a drop ship.
He is definitely dropshipping. I assume he is promoting his "clone" listings at a much higher rate than yours. He hopes that someone will directly click on his promoted "ad" listing and not look at comps. He will then buy from you and request you not include an invoice so it can be sent directly to his customer.
I feel like no UA-camr can have an opinion on ebay promotions. They don't know how tough it is without promoting. UA-camrs pay for their promotions too in the form of time making UA-cam videos.
he's also dropshipping your Oh Snaps
I agree with old dancing granny that it is an obsessed fan mocking your eBay listings at a higher price so that yours will sell faster . . . such a nice fan.

In five years, it’ll be the same story. “ hold for another five years.”
The money you get for today you can turned/flipped a multitude of times to cover any amount you'd sit on for a potential increase.
I had some people do it to me and it bothered me at first, what I found out about my drop shipper was they shipped to other countries cheaper than eBay Global, personally for me they are filling a niche and helping us sell our items. I have an arkscan printer . Got it off Amazon in 2019 and have had zero problems … it was $189 and I love it
You made the right decision on selling ...I sold thousands of premium silver and bronze age comics on eBay 20+ years ago....yes prices on some are much higher but you free up funds to invest or buy and sell other things. I never regretted any sale if I made a profit....
Something to keep in mind, comics always dip December through February.
I think the more expensive any item is, causes greed in some people, more likely to get screwed with expensive items. That Stinks!!
Even as a comic collector and seller myself ... that 2020 time was just insane. Same as Pokemon and sports cards. So the market is down for now. Calling "dibs" to claim purchases is fun and adds meaning to the site's name. Great marketing!
Love this!!!
I have bought 3 different cheap printers ($60-80) and have returned all of them, including Nelco. Rollo is on its way.
You said exactly what I was about to write your flipper not a collector
And he is a drop shipper
It happens to me a lot they copy my ads then probably promote at a higher rate
if they do it enough times they’ll make sales. They probably have software to do it
I thought about putting my eBay store name in background so it doesn’t happen
I love my Polono label printer! It's been chugging along for two years straight and has never given me any trouble!
That happened to me on one of my listings for a whole set of cutco knives! One of the in ones! Same pics and exact word in description too! I reported it to eBay and they made them take it down!
The wireless Rollo is awesome and label compatibility hasn’t been an issue.
$80 for a wireless JADEN thermal printer, has worked very well for me.
Check the address if you can of the person who bought your comic book then check the address of the person who copied your listing and see if the address matches
Sometimes UA-camrs will have a link to save 10% or so on Rollo printers... I believe you were describing the Time/Value concept of money.
I've been using a Munbyn printer for almost a year with no issues. I think I paid about $70 on Ebay and it came with 500 labels.
I have been using munbyn for a couple of years now with no problems.
Hey Dave I bought one of eBay 2 years ago and works no problem it’s just a normal thermal printer $99. 🇦🇺👍
Julian Bearded Thrift Machine has a lot cost printer and I bought one like his. I'm in the midst of installing it. It takes flat labels.
I had this before. On lower value item though. I took it as a lazy seller or someone with no picture taking capability. I did not take down as lose watchers through this. In end contacted ebay and they contacted other person, and pictures were changed

The corded rollo is the best dave, just do it
The copy is jus th sell similiar feature in ebay.
I immediately thought of drop shipping. If you change your listing, you will lose that advantage provided they are honest.
I think it's someone drop shipping as well. There's a lot of people doing that now. Also could be, it's a possibility they have the same item and don't want to take time to take pics?

USPS is driving me nuts as a buyer - package sat at distro in city of drop off for 4 days. Now it's been sitting at my local distro for 4 days.
Beeprt and Polano have worked flawlessly. 😊
I would not like someone doing that to my stuff! If it gets bought for the higher price. They buy from you. They get money a profit for not doing anything but copying your posting. Sounds like “reselling”
I don’t think I’d hold for 5 years, but I would hold onto those Fantastic Four for another 12-18 months, as Marvel is getting ready to introduce the FF into the MCU.
The sad thing is that that “scammer” drop shipper is a viewer.
I've had several ppl use my pictures to sell their items on Mercari & Ebay... pisses me off so I'll message them, ask them to remove my photos or I'll contact Mercari/Ebay... they usually always remove my photos... sooo annoying!
Happens all the time. They clone your store. Its no problem. You get what you want and they make a few bucks.
Also the post office works for us so they need to slap a smile on their faces and do their job.
5 years. Sell it, and keep using the money to make more money, keep it moving. Or, invest in the market. But, your best bet is to use the money to buy and sell and bring in more.
Dave ive had my IDPRT For 5 years. No issues. Wired I think i got it for $80 around christmas
Sell everything and sell it now. Tomorrow is never promised.
It sounds more like the opinion to hold the comics for 5 years is not as a ‘collector’ but as an investor. I’ve never heard of such a thing! That’s ridiculous! I’m so sorry that someone is doing that to you!
Me and a friend did a Bronco stadium puzzle with all the people and it wasn't so bad to do.
I stopped sellin comics in ebay. I had a nice direct edition version and i sold for 50. Buyer swapped for his crappy copy , opened case , sent bak an demanded refund. I got his crap copy. And had to partial refund him in the end. Total bs.

It would be “Preferable” if that person just kept their comments to themselves.
They are a dropshipper. You can report them. They are not allowed to use your photos.
as people are saying they are drop shipping ... they are hoping there listing sells buy yours and make more money

Happens to me with games enough. its a drop shipping thing, But its mostly Amazon people selling Ebay items
Yea, he's a another reseller that is buying from you to resell on eBay or another site, done all the time with sellers who don't have a lot of inventory
I thought my Rollo broke also, but it just needed cleaned and now it’s working fine
100% Drop Shipper. What is most likely happening is he is advertising his listing outside of eBay on other websites and places with collectors. I would contact ebay
Don’t send it til u get the money
I would contact eBay immediately Dave!
Either drop shipper or sell similar but kept your photos. The latter is less likely because of the grading though.
Did I miss a video that you showed your comic books after grading?
New Rollo equals write off and a peace of mind!
If you hold the comics for 5 years you might make more (be sure to adjust selling price for inflation), however If you sell now you can roll the profits back into your business for the next 5 years and in the long run probably make more off the same initial investment. How many times in 5 years could you reinvest and reprofit in that time?
I'd notify Ebay about this it's sort of a snarky thing to do use your images and make folks think it's you.....
Haha.... raise your price to just under theirs... then there would be no profit for them. Back in the day I would report this kind of person for using my photos and ebay would remove their listing. I don't think ebay would do that now, but maybe ask?
The shoe thing is real for ADHD folks, always wear some type of shoe inside or I’ll think it’s nap time. Lol
If it was mine, I'd report them for stealing my photos. Probably low chance of financial loss, just IP theft. You could block them out of spite (and ding their account if they manage to sell your comic...) or just let it go and focus on making money. No wrong options here, in my mind.
You should buy the other listings and when they don’t ship…
Drop shipping, they buy his, he buys yours and he makes money.
Rod is right…they have a higher price, if it sells then buy yours/tell you to ship without receipt. Totally was going to say that…anyone spell “drop shipper”?
I believe they are planning to drop ship.
Drop shipping. If their listing sells they would buy yours for the lower price and ask you to ship to a different address without an invoice. I'd report to ebay because they are not allowed to use your photos, block the person, and if you get a sale that wants you to ship to a different address, cancel the listing and tell them they need to repurchase with the address they have on file with ebay.
buy the Rollo. Invest in yourself, in your business. If it was a camera, you'd spend a grand in a second.
Happened to me a few times in the last few years, I contacted the seller asking him to stop using my pictures and he did, he didnt explained anything at all, he only ended the listing
I would have sold also for $1k. Smart move
Kind of surprised you’ve never heard of drop shipping. It’s frowned upon but eBay lets people do it. They mark it up, when their listing sells they buy it off you and profit the difference.

Jaden wireless printer. Works well and easy set up.
Nelko..... man that shit is ass but it gets the job done 😂😂🔥
Take it as a compliment! You take better pictures than him so he stole yours 😂.
It’s not a good idea on his end since his actual comics may have slightly different wear/quirks. But his problem!
id just report those listing as fraudulent

the copy cat isnt scamming you but rather using your pics to scam others, report them right away
@@adammonahan687 think youre correct, Im used to scammers on Facebook comic book groups taking pics off of eBay
its possible that if they can sell theirs - they will then buy yours and flip it
I would buy the more expensive one it seems like it would be better quality
Nope sitting for 5yrs is too much time
Could the person have two accounts. Account 1 purchased the item from you. Account 2 lists same item and sells it for more....somewhat like a drop ship.
Someone else already said but jadens thermal printer works great for me. Mine’s Bluetooth
