    I love videos like this as someone new to trails and hiking. Being able to see it ahead of time and measure it against my comfort level is useful. Thanks

    Thank you for showing this trail. Beautiful, but I’m a chicken, so I took it off my list.

    Very nicely done---this is the best video of the trail I've seen. Thanks for creating it.

    Magical views of a magical place. I have done a couple of trails in Zion some years ago but on my more recent trips the valley floor is more my level. My age has caught up with me somewhat and the exposure that once I so much enjoyed now is a source of trepidation. I am thrilled to find your channel and hope to explore, through your lens, some of the paths that are now beyond me. Have a great Christmas.

    I just did this last week! The view at the end was amazing. If anyone who's afraid of heights out there is wondering: it really wasn't bad at all :)

      I read where this is “easy”, but from watching this footage, that’s a lie. Drop off points to certain death all along this trail. I don’t think I’ll be able to do this. It was on my list, but my fear of heights is crippling. :(

    • @deanmcmurph9234
      @deanmcmurph9234 3 роки тому +1

      @@kristiecain3242 I have a crippling fear of heights and I did it (meaning I get paralyzed and dizzy if I see a steep drop off). I only went on this one because like you said an article I read said it was “easy” but the park actually rates it as moderate. I was nervous the whole time but it was not absolutely terrifying and there are only a few non-railed drop off areas, and one where you kind of have to squeeze past. That said, you can probably do it!

      @@deanmcmurph9234 thanks! Maybe I’ll go back and try it on our next trip out there. Gorgeous park! We cycled up and down Zion. Absolutely breathtaking.

    The music is beautiful in this... makes the breathtaking views of your video even more wonderful. Thank you for the upload! Such a shame it doesn't have more thumbs up... Come on people 7k views and only 57 thumbs. :( Show the love for the creator. Great steady camera work, music that compliments and fantastic editing....

    Great to see the full trail. I was there in January but only made it as far as the first set of railings before the vertigo set in. Looking at the rest of the trail it’s really fortunate I didn’t try to push on through. No way I would have made it back.

      Paul Barnard 30 years ago my spouse and I gorilla hiked Grandfather Mountain. Climbed handmade ladders up the rock face. Got to the top and looked around and FROZE. I dropped to my arse and scooted across the rock croping into the woodline. Several other hikers watching me with no problem at all. We still laugh about that. I would have to hang out with you and let the other folks go by on this one. Lol

    Thank you so much for this video!! We’re going this spring, and I’m terrified of heights. I never know until I’m there but I’m trying to figure out what I might be able to do. This looks pretty okay! Thank you for sharing!!

    Thank you so much for this video. It is the first video I have seen of the Canyon Overlook Trail. Although it is a short, easy trail, it looks packed with great views and an interesting trail also. I will be there in 3 weeks!

    Thanks, great video! I love Zion but I have a fear of heights that makes me freeze in my track's. Ive tried to do this hike twice farther each time. Your video is going to help me conker my fear.

      Keep trying! I've had an inherent fear of height since childhood. I went from not able to make it across the bridge on this hike to conquering Angel's Landing in a matter of years. You can do it! Hope you've been able to make some progress!

    This trail is not too difficult (about the same as the Mist Trail on the way to Vernal) unless you are petrified by heights, and ends with a beautiful view of the valley. I’m not an avid hiker and prefer driving up to vantage points like at the South Rim. It looks scarier in the video than in real life.I stopped to do it on my way to see Antelope Canyon, and was glad I did! Just be ready to slow down and turn into the parking lot on the right side just as you exit the first long tunnel going east. It’s easy to miss if you don’t. Thanks for the video to encourage people to check out this great hike!

      other than the very narrow, wet spot which I turned around at 10:25 or so, it looks very doable. But that one spot was my Waterloo.

      therealestsista it’s not anywhere near as scary as it looks. Me and my 13 year old granddaughter did this trail in July and we had no trouble and I am 59. Lots of kids younger than her and people older than me were in the trail. It was one of our favorites!

    I got to the 10:30 spot on the video and turn back . Too narrow and wet , not complaining but I sure wish I could've finished.I turned around on Walters Wiggles cuz it was too icey too.

    I saw many places where there are no railings near the edge. Are there any alternative routes? I did see some trails branching off of the route you took. Is this trail ok to walk in the rain/snow?

    • @NirmalMakadia

      I'm not sure if there are any alternate routes. There are a couple of narrow spots where you have to be careful when it's wet.

    Curious as to what time of day this was shot and how long in real time from start to finish...I wouldn't want to negotiate this hike in the dark!!

    • @NirmalMakadia
      @NirmalMakadia  4 роки тому

      This was shot between 1pm and 2pm MDT. This was shot in real time. So took me about ~22 minutes to the end (one way). I don't consider myself fit and I stop a few times to capture the surrounding on the hike.
