  • Until 18 February the gallery Perrotin in New York presents an exhibition of paintings by Hans Hartung. Hans Hartung (1904-1989) was a German-French painter and graphic artist. He is considered one of the pioneers of the art movement of Informel. The show takes over all three floors of Perrotin’s New York space with works from the 1970s, a seminal period for the artist marked by experimentation with tools, shapes and colors. Titled Revenge, the exhibition seeks to redress Hartung’s 1975 exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which left the German-French painter underappreciated in the United States. Revenge recreates a section of the Met exhibition with paintings that were on view in 1975.

@@vernissagetv You made a beautiful video. When you have time do watch the Motherwell video on UA-cam...Storming the Citadel. You'll never look at a abstract work in the same way again. He's the Boss when it comes to wisdom, etc.

Thank you! I've already had a quick look at the Motherwell video and will watch it in full this weekend. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

@@vernissagetv That creative language - creative weapon as Motherwell refers to can be used with any medium. The surrealists methodology performed very well in avant-garde filmmakers. Federico Fellini to name one. Enjoy.
