It should be mentioned that two very different versions of the R 1200R are shown in this video. The ones with the exhaust on the right side have the liquid cooled „LC“ boxer and the ones with the exhaust on the left side are aircooled. Concerning sound, There is quite a difference between these engines.
guys i am looking for purchasing the bos exhaust for my R1200 R 2016, but i can't find this "short" version, as i shows to the video. Can anyone help me with this???????
Did you get any help on that? I've searched around for the same exhaust and can't find the exact one. I liked that DomatoR as well but same thing - found some from that company but not the one in the video. Frustrating.
They actually sound better without a can - a 2.5' stubby pipe will cost $60 at your local muffler shop - It'll produce better sound - the existing cat provides enough back pressure so no performance drop off apart from a small amount of initial tourque on take off.
That might be so with the early R1200R's and certainly for the R1150R, but the K53 engine (liquid cooled) is horrendously loud without a muffler. Even my SC Project without the db killer is far too loud for the street.
There is no exhaust on the planet that makes a boxer engine sound good, and I love the platform.

The little Dominator sounds best for me .
The Boss can gets my vote.
Man the Akra and BOS are sweet.
This does the Arrow dirty lol - sounds so different on a r1250r irl
All BM's have a small sweet spot where they sound great - the rest of the noise is pure sewing machine.
1:25 Which is this exhaust? Which BOS model?
I’m surprised this bike doesn’t sound as good as the R9T- why is that??
Same engine right ?
no the r9t has the older air cooled engine, the new r1200r has a luquid cooled one.
Actually the r9t has the oil cooled engine (same as the r1200gs k25), while the r1200r has a water cooled engine (as the r1200gs k50).
Stock exaust sounds really good, so what's the point of paying 1000 euro for something thats already good....?
yesssss

I wish people would stop talking about backpressure when it comes to exhausts
Akra is truely the best for this bike
Remap reqd for full system
with Remus it sounds like a 4 Zylinder, best is Bos and then Akra....
BOS is Boss
Stock sounds best to me.
Boss 👍
Thanks for this.
I thought it was the exhaust listening at the first can. But as all of the cans sound poor its not the cans but the bikes.
Thanks but no thanks to all of them if this is what they really sound like in real life.
Remus
full exhaust?? 😂😂🤦🏻♂️
HOW CAN ANYONE SAY BOSS? Sounds like a baby farting. Akro is the goods.
