    Not just the video quality, but the sound quality is also very good. Nice job!

    Very enjoyable video. Thank you for documenting a line that is a shadow of what it once was. Don't get me wrong, ever since trains started coming down the Sunbury Division once more, traffic has increased. This line is the one I'm most interested in since I grew up in Sunbury. Great job! Keep them coming.

    Epic video!!! Those blue Pan Am units were so cool. Also that SD80MAC & trio of SD60i's!

      +Norfolk Southern ES44AC I agree with you. The SD80MAC and SD60I power is quite common on the 10A / 11A trains between Northumberland and Pittsburgh. That power used to be on the coal trains around here, but since the amount of coal traffic running on this line has fallen off the cliff, the power now runs on the manifests.

      Blame Trump for fall-off of coal trains.

      +Cape Rails Productions Thanks! After all the failed attempts of catching the Pan Am blues in New England I finally have them coming to my door step, haha.

    Nice catch at CP Miller of 14R headin northbound with another in the siding!

      Now CP Miller is now storage for NS. Myself captured many freights at Miller siding when the change of ownership from big blue to NS came. Happy to see NS taking over the Sunbury line at CP Kase. It was sad the only lasting Pennys sentinal on that line at Kase fell in place of the Safetrans setup. Did alot of train chasing up & down rt 147 over the years. Even when CP kept runnin freights on the main line was able to get pictures of the various roadpwr of SOO now and then locals of D&H lightning stripe Geep 38's & the different paint schemes of CP.

    Nice to see those old PRR signals still up and running. Most of them have been replaced around the Pittsburgh area

      The sad thing is after the changeover from the old sentinels to the safetrans system i still like the pennys system!

    For those of you asking, the camera I use is a Sony FDR-AX100. There was a supplemental shot in here from the Canon HG20 as well.

      +Central Penn Rail Productions I live along the buffalo line and I'm glad NS bought those trackage rights from CP because now we get more PAN AM power dower through there

    Dadly many of the Pennsy track signals have replaced with them safetrans signsls on the Buffalo line. At sunbury, the last vestiges of the Penny signsls at Kase was removed in the early 2000's.

    actually the Buffalo Line is used north of Olean, the BPRR uses the Buffalo line to reach Buffalo, as they abandoned their own mainline due to structural issues on it. their mainline meets the Buffalo Line at Machias Junction.

    A bit late on this one, but fantastic video of a line not properly documented very often. I've always had an interest in this route ever since I started going to the Greater Harrisburg area once or twice a year, though because of the volume on the other 4 routes in the immediate area, no real block of significant time ever really would ever get devoted to the Buffalo Line, except of course for the quick drive across the river to get one coming in at Wye or either of the Ferry's. Finally got the chance to do some legitimate chasing on it this past Summer, which after doing so I now tip my hat to you with being so successful with the way these chases panned out, seeing the short 14R we went after did every bit of MAS from South Ferry to Sunbury, winging it the whole way north didn't bode well for us at times either lol. It's a really fun route though, and you definitely depicted it at it's busiest during the days that you went out. One question though, how long were 10/11A running up the south end of the line to Northumberland? Only asking because I remember reading a bunch of almost daily postings on the Buffalo Line Yahoo Group that OS'd those two using the PITL-NBER-BUFL routing to reach Northumberland rather than PITL-BUFL via Rockville before they were momentarily abolished. I always just assumed that they ran that way all the time rather than interchangeably.

    Since NS took over the Sunbury line just a short time ago traffic has been constant.

    MEC 3400 horn is either fouled perfectly so it sounds like a Leslie. Or they changed the tuning on it to be a leslie while coming from Nathan.

      +amtrak hartford I believe he new K5LA's have a very low C chord. But having not seen or heard that many, I really don't know the exact answer.

    Amazing to see Pan Am that far west. I am assuming they have a yard in Binghamton where their PAS trains originate? Is it the newly acquired Sunbury line by NS that allows for the additional Pan Am Southern access?

    • @CentralPennRailProductions
      @CentralPennRailProductions  8 років тому

      +TheGomes412 Pan Am does not have access to NS but rather Norfolk Southern has access to Pan Am in East Deerfield, Massachusetts now. The NS 11R train originates there and it was agreed that Pan Am would pool some of their power for the trip south to Binghamton and Enola, probably because a lot of NS power runs through onto Pan Am to Ayer and other places.

    What was up with all the Pam am railway loco doing on ns

    • @CentralPennRailProductions
      @CentralPennRailProductions  8 років тому

      +Ryan Ryan The train 11R originates in East Deerfield, Massachusetts on Pan Am. Norfolk Southern owns a decent stock of Pan Am and now that they have a direct interchange with them, there was an agreement that some of the Pan Am power would run south on the freight trains, returning on the northbound 14R that originates in Enola Yard.
