I can't believe it!! I lived in Santa Cruz for decades and drove by this house quite often. I always wondered about it until now. I live on a small island about 70 miles away from Africa and now I know. Thanks once again Kendall, I don't know how you do it, but you're amazing!
We have family in Santa Cruz so we would see it when we'd go to visit and knew there had to be a story about it. Glad our curiosity helped someone else who's always wondered about it too. Thanks for watching!
Hey Kenddall it definitely is a small world. I was born in Fresno we moved around a few years until we moved to Watsonville almost fifty years ago where I grew up. I vaguely remember the house but didn't know any of its history. It sits west of highway one and just north of the Santa Cruz Monterey county line. I even had friends that worked at the Chevron station that you can see in the background.
Wow what a beautiful house. I'll have to look out for it next time I'm out that way. Praying some rich person can restore it to its former glory!! Especially with such a beautiful history of helping others! Maybe the house can be that again. ❤ Lords knows our state needs it.
I grew up next to some of the Hiraharas and one of them used to babysit me. Thx for featuring so many of these treasures, I love your channel. I subscribed when I saw your casa de fruta video, and I love following you Kendal.❤
Thanks for the update. Ive driven past it nearly every day for 25 years. I knew there was an active preservation group for awhile, but wondered what was happening.
With a rich history that the house holds; it should be restired immediatdly, and possibly converted to a museum of interned Jspanese Americans; and by no means left to decay. Come on wealthy locals; step up to the plate!
I love passing by this house every time I take a beach trip and I’m shocked this video was posted just yesterday to confirm it’s still standing strong
Yes, it sure seems to be very fragile, but its obviously been through some tough times. Thanks for watching.

Their house looks Haunted
Definitely has that look.

That would be a great use of it.
I was born and raised in Watsonville and I grew up hearing stories about how this house is haunted now I know the story behind it
