I so hope that this game gets a sequel or that we get other games in this new universe. Books, comic books, an animated series? Anything will do. I also hope we get a lot of fanfiction. :)
The closest to a good spin off take I've seen was The Owl of the Dersert by Anon1313 on Archiveofourown. It's longer than most of the fanfic on the site, but still short. Hopefully longer stories will show up, and if they don't...well I could try to take a crack at it.
What if the end product became an FPS-Horror (think of FEAR 1) for example where we could be playing as a Nation gestalt's soldier to unravel all the shenanigans that is going on with time and space corruption. Or play as an soldier fighting against the Nation and likely find out the random time and space distortion and need to put an end to it like in Dead Space / Killzone
MOOOOORE LOOOOOORE. IMO as this game is full of tragedy, it's quite possible that neither factions are "right" and "just" in any way... Heck, maybe even a disaster or something was what pushed the lass who later became the Empress to develop reps... the idea of churning out tens of thousands of sentient workers would not doubt get a lot of pushback...
I always took the state of the war to be settling into more of a cold war, from the context we're given. The Empire's fleet lacks the strength to attempt to retake any worlds or decisively engage the Nation's fleet and have any chance of winning, hence the change to siege tactics. Likewise, the Nation is attempting to recover and rebuild some of its strength after their (relatively) recent gains and advancements.
I feel like one detail you overlooked was the Penrose program. In the description of the Elster model it states that the original template the model was based on was destroyed on Vineta and that they had to use an older template from the Penrose program. This could implicate the Eusan empire in the creation of the Penrose program if all the replika templates predate the revolution. It certainly wouldn't make sense that the revolutionaries developed a model specifically for the Penrose program and then decided to just use a different one.
I wonder sometimes how the imperial soldiers and eusan national soldiers uniforms and weapons look respectively, think it'd be interesting to see how they look. Edit: I also think I'd rather live under the empire's rule rather than under the rule of a more totalitarian nation such as the Eusan People's Nation (Assumed name of the nation)
The Army's name is Volksarmee, so Folk's or People's Army, so the nation's name would seem pretty accurate. I think the school uniforms would be a close reference to whats used on the field, on the basis of them actually using uniforms and humanoids to fight wars on both sides, but judging by the Replika superstructures I do think the nation is stuck with the two leg two arm bozos. At some point of the game, a combat (anti-tank) version of the heavy miner (the one with the power suit, the mini boss fight) is revealed on the notes if you ever cared to read them, alongside other ones detailing different and modified variants of the Replikas. I would, indeed, also live under Imperial rule. The Imperial blockade is a testiment of the Empire's power over the Eusan Nation, and as also mentioned before, they were once a part of the Empire. I wonder if there are any intergalactic sanctions going on though. The blockade is comparable to whats going down in Azerbaijan-Armenia right now.
@@wir_superise7414We know that the Empire and the Nation seem to have some level of diplomacy, in a news article in rot-front I think it mentions how the Empire apparently destroyed a vessel from Eusan that was enroute to Veneta. It mentions that this would further destroy diplomacy between the two nations. Speaking of Veneta, Fight for veneta's true freedom. Reclaim the homeworld.

Perhaps the empire was fighting something truly awful and just needed bodies for the meat grinder. Why throw out something like that once you have it?

i feel like We have to wait to DLC or Signalis 2 to get more lore as now it is simply not enough to acknowledge.
Amazing video, thanks
Would love to see Sequel take place in the empire

Jesus christ I have been on a binge for Signalis content on this channel. Thanks for this!
i swear that the premier countdown music invokes existential dread better than any Lovecraftian inspired story
