    I would LOVE an open-world detective game that takes place in one of the regime-controlled cities, where you play as someone working for the regime, solving cases and hunting down people and maybe even Replikas who have gone against the regime. That would be incredible, AND it would satiate my love for Blade Runner too lmao.

    I don't think Storches and Stars are proper combat units. Their designation is "security technician" and while height has use in crowd control, too large size is a hindrance in combat against enemies who shoot back. I'd say Kolibris' shortness would fit that as well.

    • @Cristiferbeast
      @Cristiferbeast  Рік тому +47

      That could be a fair assumption, seeing as we don't really play anywhere near the front lines it wouldn't be a surprise if the units used in actual combat are completely different

    • @thespectator5259
      @thespectator5259 Рік тому +47

      Yeah. The whole "Protektor" class of Replikas are more for *internal security* than anything. Something like a mix of a Stasi like national police force and the "poster girls" for the Nation's propaganda machine.
      Although I'm sure there are more proper Replika infantry soldier types (like the SAPR variant of the MYNH Replikas), Elster units likely see a lot of front-line combat with the Empire. As the lore file indicates, aside from their pioneer technician designation, they can pull double duty as combat engineers. She can be used like normal infantry in a pinch, build fortifications, and make things go boom. She's not big enough to be an easy target nor need a lot of resources to upkeep her, but she's also strong/tall enough to not get pushed around in a potential melee and can handle pretty much all firearms/portable explosives. She's quiet and receptive to orders, but is independent enough to function with a broken chain of command.

    By far the creepiest regular enemy in the game. Do you think the beakhead is just a result of the corruption? It's clearly a reference to the creature they're based off, so I'm guessing there's no way it's a corrupted type of standard equipment they're given - it's just an out and out physical mutation that they have to use to fight with.

    I always assumed the beak manifested as some sort of leg attached in place of the head, much like the creature in the Nowhere with all the arms and legs. Very interesting. Part of me wishes the corrupted units were available in higher rez or clearer art work so we could understand better what they look like, but the stylization and the glitchy aura surrounding them makes them that much more infatuatingly creepy.

    I have noticed a curious detail, there is a parallel between the first thing we see when leaving the Penrose for the first time when we walk through the snowy landscape in first person and what we always see in the final part. If you look closely, you can see at the end a kind of entrance formed by structures of elongated Hyperrectangles just like in the final part where you always find Adler, as well as many other elongated Hyperrectangles scattered around the stage. It seems a symbolic representation of how we start from what could be limbo or purgatory to end up descending right into what could be considered the entrance to the depths of hell.

    I just finished Signalis and I wanted to ask, was there ever a real infection on Sierpinski outside of Arianne's loop?

    • @Cristiferbeast
      @Cristiferbeast  Рік тому +5

      The game isn’t fully understood yet,
      However alot of evidence points to (and thus I believe) that yes many things are real

    • @Lucas-st1xq
      @Lucas-st1xq Рік тому

      not an infection but a corruption through the bioresonance. Its implied that its not actually Ariane, but the Elster units that are so instable due to Ariane's memories that their bioresonance went nuts, to the point of corrupting others.I believe the corruption in other places ocurred because of the other Elster units that died while searching for Ariane

    • @izperehoda
      @izperehoda Рік тому +3

      Probably not? There isn't a 100% correct explanation of the plot, but imo it's all hallucinations. Sierpinski might not even exist. The "infection" is likely created by Arianne's fear of her progressing cancer.

    • @Cristiferbeast
      @Cristiferbeast  Рік тому +2

      @@izperehoda there is evidence that exists that goes against dream theory
      Primarily details that wouldn’t be known by any of the 3 possible dreamers that are consistent,
      Lack of connotational importance in many rooms (suggesting they are pointless to the dreamers and wouldn’t exist, think opposite of silent hill)
      Normal existence can and does work for many explanations

    • @izperehoda
      @izperehoda Рік тому +4

      @@Cristiferbeast I personally prefer the dream theory because it has some kind of bitter irony. Basically, in the beginning the player thinks that this some generic "zombie infection" plot that they have to uncover. And then the game hits you with: There are no zombies, no infection, no meaty apocalypse that you have to prevent. Just a slightly special person and a semi-sentient replika that are slowly decaying on a ship, constantly suffereing. Completely abandoned by their country because they are simply a disposable crew on a disposable vessel.
      Oh and also it explains the constant jumps between different times and places, and other things that don't make sense "realistically".

      @Cristiferbeast  Рік тому +2

      So with some units it was super easy (eule-standard enemy, klbr-screen distortion, ara-vent girl) but Star and STCR was hard,
      to figure it out i used 2 sources
      1-STCRs call, and beak like appearence would not make sense for a STAR to have
      2-STCR vs STAR hp, STCR should by logical sense have the highest HP.
      but i can see how it would easy to flip them

    Can you please do a video explaining just the actual story itself next please
    Like in your opinion what happened ? Where is the Penrose in the game ? We start off on the surface of Penrose and go down the hatch but then end of game the Penrose is in the red desert

    • @Cristiferbeast
      @Cristiferbeast  Рік тому +7

      The story isn’t fully understood yet,
      There are lots of theories, however none that I’ve seen could explain every detail. As most theories priority is explaining the game based of opinions rather then using evidence to craft an explanation,
      Due to this I currently can’t explain the story objectively, but the moment I can. I promise I will!

    • @AWesker28
      @AWesker28 Рік тому +4

      @@Cristiferbeast The story will never have a clear answer, as it is presented in such a way that it is ambiguous and confusing in certain aspects, in such a way that the player only reaches the conclusion that there are several possible paths but none of them ends up being the correct one. Like for example what I already said about the corpse found in the cryosleep capsule after the false ending, which is really just one of the many attempts the protagonist made to get to where Ariane is, the fact is that this corpse could be perfectly the result of the ends of Memory and Promise, since in both cases the protagonist ends in the same way, dying next to the Cryosleep capsule. Although at the end of the memory we do not see how the brightness of the protagonist's eyes disappears, as if it happens in the false ending and in the end of the Promise, implying that she dies, so it could be interpreted that really only she fell asleep from exhaustion in the memory ending and that the artifact ending could be an extension of what we see in this ending as someone said. But these are just theories and there is nothing to confirm what really happened. The only thing that can be more or less clarified is how the protagonist and Ariane ended up in the Penrose, how they ended up crashing and how the Leng facilities that were built years later gradually ended up sinking due to the effects of the Bioresonance of Ariane's memories. who plunged into a deep cryosleep in the Penrose that crashed years ago, that roughly is the most basic timeline we can have more or less clear
