Me, myself and AI - DeepMind: The Podcast (S2, Ep7)

AI doesn’t just exist in the lab, it’s already solving a range of problems in the real world. In this episode, Hannah encounters a realistic recreation of her voice by WaveNet, the voice synthesising system that powers the Google Assistant and helps people with speech difficulties and illnesses regain their voices. Hannah also discovers how ‘deepfake’ technology can be used to improve weather forecasting and how DeepMind researchers are collaborating with Liverpool Football Club, aiming to take sports to the next level.

also, im not impressed by a starcraft bot. i think the perfect minecraft bot would be a much harder challenge. why is deepmind ignoring minecraft? its the more popular game, and actually contains creativity. plus, the perfect minecraft bot could be a viable commercial item. i dont like that no one is acknowledging that minecraft, the harder challenge, is unsolved. deepmind likes to pretend that games have been solved with the latest accomplishments, but they have not been, and minecraft is an open challenge that is being ignored, it would seem to me. how about a 'player of games' that can play any modern pc game? then ill be impressed. :| :|

@@billyf3346 I have no idea why you think minecraft is so difficult for an AI... Starcraft 2 is way harder. Also minecraft doesn't have a competitive scene so how could you even test its performance?
