I love so many of Wild Child’s songs, but haven’t heard them all. I was driving and didn’t want to risk looking at my phone, so I asked Siri to shuffle Wild Child’s songs. This one was one of the first to play, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the name! I moved to Reno recently, and feel so far from those I love. It really feels like the biggest little city. So many people and somehow so little and lonely too. This song will always be special to me now, because it names this city that is now my home, and I drive on the streets the songwriters wrote about, and I feel like this band is singing right to me. So beautiful.
Late night Driving long past the sunrise I know you're feeling it too There's no end to this road But it's alright I know my home is with you I can't say why I'm acting this way Oh darling who knows why I called I knew you weren't awake Late nights on the road Didn't hear your call Damn I hope you'd catch me when I fall I know your mind goes running wild But I'm always at your door You treat like a child cos I've run before But when they dim those city lights Could search the whole world round Always know my heart is in your hometown Ghost town I can just feel the calm down This whiskey helps when it hurts Nine miles On the road south of Reno Still see your face at each turn Sometimes These long nights ease my trouble mind Help me forget about the pretty things I left behind Late nights on the road Didn't hear your call Damn I hope you'd catch me when I fall I know your mind goes running wild But I'm always at your door You treat like a child cos I've run before But when they dim those city lights Could search the whole world round Always know my heart is in your hometown Late nights on the road Didn't hear your call Damn I hope you'd catch me when I fall I know your mind goes running wild But I'm always at your door You treat like a child cos I've run before But when they dim those city lights Could search the whole world round Always know my heart is in your hometown Late night Driving long past the sunrise I know you're feeling it too
my only child a ten year old daughter is in Reno and I am going to be longhauling frieght God only knows what is next. She's been by my side before she was even born. So thank you.
+sarah h I'm talking about this Audiotree Live version, not the album version. They usually put all of their sessions up to buy on their site (along with bandcamp, itunes, etc) but since this wasn't recorded in their studio, they must have only recorded the video.

Late night
Driving long past the sunrise
I know you're feeling it too
There's no end to this road
But it's alright
I know my home is with you
I can't say why I'm acting this way
Oh darling who knows why I called
I knew you weren't awake
Late nights on the road
Didn't hear your call
Damn I hope you'd catch me when I fall
I know your mind goes running wild
But I'm always at your door
You treat like a child cos I've run before
But when they dim those city lights
Could search the whole world round
Always know my heart is in your hometown
Ghost town
I can just feel the calm down
This whiskey helps when it hurts
Nine miles
On the road south of Reno
Still see your face at each turn
Sometimes
These long nights ease my trouble mind
Help me forget about the pretty things I left behind
Late nights on the road
Didn't hear your call
Damn I hope you'd catch me when I fall
I know your mind goes running wild
But I'm always at your door
You treat like a child cos I've run before
But when they dim those city lights
Could search the whole world round
Always know my heart is in your hometown
Late nights on the road
Didn't hear your call
Damn I hope you'd catch me when I fall
I know your mind goes running wild
But I'm always at your door
You treat like a child cos I've run before
But when they dim those city lights
Could search the whole world round
Always know my heart is in your hometown
Late night
Driving long past the sunrise
I know you're feeling it too

All of a sudden this played in the background. I wish we worked out. I will forget you.
Who are the fourteen people that have the audacity to dislike this?
As logan sz.. my home town..
Its all gone
I love your music. But I have to admit I like the live versions more. If you'd bring out some live album that would be awsome :)
Kelsey Wilson, where is your so happy and beautiful smile?
I might be missing it, but was this song ever released anywhere to buy, or was that not possible since you weren't in the studio?
It's on the new album Fools

I named my guitar after kelsey.
@I O Uhm... Kelsey.
Marry me Kelsey? And sing to me everyday?
She does not smile here
That's pretty observant about her smiling. She does usually have this sweet smile when she sings.
Kelsey is so gorgeous her voice makes my heart melt
