Wow, thank you guys! Since 1993 I have been wondering why the song was making such a powerful effects on me by seemingly simple (but somewhat weird!) chords, but now I can see that its power is in the "details" of the sound! I'm simply one more time amazed by genuis of DM!

I went to Ministry of Sound Listening Party for SOFAD, I remember at the time that the one track that stood out to me was Walking In My Shoes. Good review Vaughn 👍

In The last part there are actually 3 guitars layered:
    1: riff
    2: harmonics
3: slide from A on the second fret of third string till the 12th fret on the same string (this one with a whawha)

Very interesting, Sir. Thank you for doing this for us.
One of my favourite Depeche songs (and perhaps their last good Maxi-Single).
I always loved a cool triple rhythm. This will make me appreciate the guitar riff.

Wow! I like it, well I know the kind of guitar 🎸 Martin gore uses it was a Gretch?(I don't know if I'm saying that right), to me the vibe (on that guitar)it sounds kinda Bluesy (in a way), now I know why... thank you 😊.

First of all, I have to say that, like many others, I only found out years later how hard the work on the album must have been. And also that the band almost wore itself out. I was shocked at first when I heard I feel you...aargh e guitars? :-) But I quickly recognized the quality of the song and I've loved it ever since. Greets from germany 😊

When they play IFY live, the guitar parts have also additional layers played from tape. Some month ago they had a guitar malfunction on the MM tour: ua-cam.com/video/KNjnaTO03dg/v-deo.html

There 's no wah wah in the chorus, it's a Leslie speaker. It is conventionally used with organs, but gives a great sound to pretty much everything, although it's easy to overdo it; and it wasn't a keyboard what passed through it, but a guitar. DM used the Leslie quite a lot on SOFAD, particularly on pianos.
A thorough analysis should have mentioned the importance of the Zoom 9010 processor which was used to process a lot of the guitars, raher than real amps, like the scooped 1 kHz in the background. Neither there was any mention of the acoustic slide parts (maybe a dobro), but I guess that's what you get with a good professional but who's not that familiar with the album. Anyway, it's an interesting watch for the average fan.
(I also found a bit funnny you said the guitar sounded more "country" with the Gretsch, since the Telecaster IS the standard for the country sound, but you can be excused for not being aware of that)

3.29 in tune but not in a standard 4 40 plus a bit due to the experimental nature of Depeche Mode do you think it was done or purpose or accident. I have the most brilliant idea, lets ask (standby for Fan Boy Sirens) ALAN WILDER! 😀
