Late comment but if you end up seeing, his zone confirms the second swing against an unlocked enemy for 45 damage. It has really good forward momentum and is technically always max unlock punish except for top heavy to finisher light. I'll use it to reaction punish rolls for example, and 45 damage is really high for a reaction roll punish compared to say valient breakthrough for 20.

Tiandi can get 29 damage from any parry because of a bug (at least I think it is) but jiang Jun can get 28 from any Parry because it's intended. *SMH*

Hey freeze, I can’t test it at the moment, but what if for a oos punish, heavy, dodge light, palm strike, light since tiandi can cancel recovery of basic attacks with dodges/dodge attacks.

even though his light parry punish is from the top for some reason a lot of players block it (static guard heroes) even if their guard wasn't on top when they got parried. is there any reason why they're able to?

I'm not mad for you showing off the unlock stuff. The more people know about stupid stuff like this the more likely it will catch the devs attention. At this point in the games life span we shouldn't be having these kind of issues anyway. I have a sneaking suspicion that this is a side effect of making all unlocked attacks the exact same as locked on attacks. Anyway. I didn't know the SB follow up gave a palm for free. So thanks for that.

Freeze, I can't back this up myself (my usual test partner is asleep at this hour) but I've heard that the unlock second light on heavy parry is not blockable, but is dodgeable - similar to Lawbringer's light after a shove. Did you test for only blocks, or also dodges? This could just be bogus, of course.
it works like the shove light of LB.
if your guard was top already, you can dodge-block it on static guard heroes.

Did you see that comp Reddit post where you can forward dash into the top light to block it, like you could with Warden's light after crushing countersrike? I assume this is done on read, in which case, you're left open to a light from another direction or palm strike, but perhaps not.
Fun fact, tiandi out of stamina top lights are faster than his side lights and you get them on gb and heavy parry

Not that it's a regular occurrence, But out of stamina parries against a wall confirm two side heavies.
Heavy after palm strike cannot be parried
I've gone into training and sometimes I'm able to land 2 heavies on a out stamina parry.
Another great vid, pal, thanks ! Am I alone in thinking Tiandi's dodge lights, being (fast) undodgeables, should be treated as chain finishers (so no follow up lights)? Also because he can cancel both his heavy dodges and kick into dodge lights... Oh and I do play Tiandi, so not hating on the char here.
Ivan Vasconcelos maybe but hightier gameplay requires him to have that as a chain starter since it can be used to give tiandi a 3 hit chain.
4:40 You can also do another kick and dodge cancel into a light
That way they think your gonna kick them in the wall and they will always dodge
And of course letting the second kick fly for mind games is a option too

Cristian Duca sure. Light into palm strike. If shugo plans on trading his light before you get your palm strike off, you can dodge to cancel the recovery of your attack. So light, dodge into the direction where shugo’s light is coming from; tiandis guard changes in the direction he dodges. Fast enough and you crushing counter shugos light with your dodge light.
I thing the tiandi dodge is not working as supposed
The light dodge attack: Is not Dodging, at all, if you want to dodge you need to extend the a loot the attack (Inconsistent) the blocking mechanic of the light is on prediction is almost imposible to do it on reaction, if you fail you it will impact you because you can not dodge either. ( my suggestión is make the blocking mechanic work early in the dodge or make the dodge actually dodge something )
The heavy dodge attack: Is not Dodging either because the s are inconsistent whit de side heavys and side light ( it allaways dodge heavy and light coming from the top and all kind of bashes ) the dodge have a guard brake vulnerability from the beginning to the middle of the dodge (Consider that the dodge is super long) my suggestion is make the work from the beginning to the end of the dodge , and the guard brake vulneeability just in the beginning, (like kensei dodge works )
Palm strikes are also a good guardbreak counter
When enemy fall of the ground you can guarantee hit top heavy and top light.

Because they are brain-dead, easy to pull off and hard to counter due to guard switch bug being fixed.

If you throw out of stam opponent and you are very close to them you get heavy light which i think does more damage than a light heavy
Heavy light is less damage. Even if its top heavy + light its 35 + 14 = 49. Light + Heavy is 15 + 37 = 52

You forgot to mention that tiandi basically has an infinite combo with the heavy into kick in a corner 😂
It costs too much stamina to abuse anywhere near infinitely, also, if you take the bait and dodge the kick your dodge out of the corner.

Something I noticed was that Tiandi cannot be GB'd out of the startup of his second heavy. So when you kick someone into a wall, a heavy into heavy or feint should be safe from the GB on wake-up. It's worth a test.
That Crushing Counter in slow motion was smooth AF.
Tiandi’s confirmed punishes aren’t great but since he can end literally any chain with an unreactable 400ms 14 damage chain light you can usually bump up each one of his single-hit punishes by 14 damage. Usually.
Also, the unlock double light bug was patched a while ago, as expected. That’s good; fixes the game. I didn’t realise that Dodge Light into Palm Strike into Palm Strike light was so nearly useless because I didn’t know that the chain light after a dodge light was confirmed. That’s good to know. Now I can just do a Palm Strike Heavy every time and do mixups (except when I use Palm Strike as an opener for a quick confirmed kill hit).
So that’s a powerful ass kick and they won’t give it a wall splat?TF
If For Honor intended to introduce heroes that has 29 dmg (Tiandi) and 30 dmg (JJ) from a heavy parry, then what's the point of nerfing dmg output from Warlord, Nobushi, Orochi and Warden??? (Unless, they want people to buy overpriced marching fire DLC to unlock OP heroes)

@@doc8140 pretty much my guy, i enjoy glad, armusha, and shaman, not cause of spaming them(but they made aras lights slow when chaining light into light) but because of the deflect punishes you can pull of, with shaman even if traded with hyper armor, if played right you can gain your health back, not just from a bite but from other means as well. And cause bladeblockade is cool and glads voice log when getting a skewer from deflect is noice.
Yea I tried all of them and went back to my mains, I play on console so everyone just light spam on these new heroes. And since gear doesn't mean anything anymore other than to look fancy I see no reason to really play them. Still have fun playing Nobushi, Valkyrie, Kensei, and Peacekeeper their new gear gave them so much personality. C:
@@zhantae honestly, everything about them is spammy, I've tried doing a CC on tiandis undodable light, but it's too hard and not even worth it on sides, the top its a bit more relieable but its very risky.
@@xdiscordx3088 It's really easy to Hidden Stance his unblockable but I immediately have to dodge out of HS because his light follow up is faster than my light out of HS and if times right you can also HS his long ass side dodge. Tiandi is very predictable. He just does the same combo over and over again.

Now ill like to see you give Nuxia 20-28 damage lights and see you "adapt". Jiang Jun is a lazy ass character that requires little effort since you can overwhelm your opponents efforts with literally two hits. Nuxia neutral heavy is is 30-32 damage so is shamans and other characters. Meanwhile Jiang Jun does 48 damage total in two chained lights. Sorry to burst your bubble but its not hard to play as Jiang Jun. His damage output makes him a character that takes almost no effort to be successful with.

Tiandi is the only balanced hero out of the Wu Lin (hint: 2 of the other 3 are OP af).
shaolin was the best designed character. Out of the faction that was an afterthought. And nuxia being the laziest designed, spam happy, and easy to learn character. That forces you to play guess which direction the 400ms heading next.
One last thing, it's not characters, but the players that abuse the slightly unbalanced moves.
