The spear showing him the person he kills soul is a cool touch to his character. That way he sees what chaos influenced ppl are thinking which would strengthen his conviction to defeat them and also would teach him some mercy if he sees the person he killed isn't just a pawn of chaos or another powerful entity but maybe just had an ideological difference showing him that not everyone he fights is just purely bad and deserving of death.
He might teamed up with Russ to invade nurgles realm and rescue Isha from the plague god , we know that the yellow king is building a masive army in a poked dimension and not only he dissapeard the same day as Russ but he literaly has sister spear that Russ uses . Why he would need an army ? Why would he dissapear the exact same time as Russ . Idk if russ sad it but he entered the warp to find the tree of life , which is more then likely Isha , and ofc Valdor would help Russ to heal the emperor because " his loyalty to the emperor is absolute "

Mentally yes they cannot be corrupted but physically they can be controlled by chaos. Horus did iust that during the seige of terra when the emperor sanginius dorn and a retenue of custodes borded the vengful spirit Horus took control of the custodes and forced the emperor to kill them
@@Judge_of_Anubis05no don’t think that’s accurate. Last I recall the emperor obtained so much power to defeat Horus that it killed the custodians around him and almost turned him into a god
@boarlord4012 yes and no. before the Emperor embraced that power and even before the fight Horus psychically attacked the custodes and got them to attack the Emperor but it was only thier bodies that they had no control over thier minds and souls were still not corrupted. So technically there is a chance they can be physically corrupted but the inference is it'd take the unified power of all 4 chaos gods to do it since horus was empowered by all 4.

Its still Russ's fault. He was all too eager to raze Prospero, and prob wouldve done so even without Valdor's influence. The space wolves have become so much more honourable and likeable after Russ was gone.
If he is alive (which I find hard to believe he’s not) it would also make him one of the most ancient beings in existence, definitely amongst the imperium. He fought in the unification wars and if you take his “first of the ten thousand” literally, he could very well be THE first Custodes. The fact that Valdor battled Abandon during siege of Terra and Abbadon survived only because of some Chaos juice is beyond my understanding...
