I dread to think of what a Raptor sternguard veteran squad is like
Yeah I want to see a named raptor sternguard veteran I feel like I would be pretty safe around him
@@LordCrate-du8zm For a brick he flew pretty good
In my head canon, Lias Issodon was a Sternguard Veteran before ne ascended to Chapter Master, he seems the type as a consummate marksman.
Maleum Caido ?
@@flarys6732 ultramarine
"Their aim is legendary!"
Tabletop: Meh, +4 to hit.
Don't let that put you off from using them, they are surprisingly effective for their cost right now. I run them with tigurius, they are quite tanky and those dev wounds... Yummy
Only on the heavy bolter.
That last artwork of the Iron Hand is so fuckin cool
I guess this explains why Malem Caedo’s melee is mildly shit.
They also believe that if your mag capacity is 30 rounds, you absolutely have to unalive 30 enemies of the mankind using it, and if you need more than a single bolt for a target, either your aim is bad of you're using wrong weapon
Ultramarine: WHAT???? You’ve never heard of the Sternguard??
Carcharodon: *annoyed shark noises*
They would just be neutral
Now the black templars on the other hand......
@@tiredandhungry8088 neutral to what?
@@doom1609 to the opinion on using sternguard
Black templar sternguard is more of a punishment
@@tiredandhungry8088 Ohh. I was just implying that the Carcharodon was annoyed by the Ultramarine’s prissiness
I always found it odd that despite their name, hellfire rounds do acidic damage.
Next the Blageguard Veterans and after the Vanguard Veterans.
> Ranged specialist
> Malum Caedo chainsword goes bbbrrrrr-
You like different ammunition for your sternguard?
How about I erase it from the rules
I love the idea of both Sternguard and Vanguard Veterans. Space Marines so dedicated to and adept at the art of ranged combat and close combat respectively, that they're among the best at each style of fighting in their entire chapter.
Goodly explained!!!
Feet first into hell (Quite Literally)
Guardsman on the Vox: Well if the heretics didn’t know anything about Sternguard veterans.
Nervously looks to the left
A blood soaked Maluem Caedo currently violently vibrating in the corner
Guardsman: They do now!
I thought only Deathwatch has this
Captain Titus in SM1 comes to mind
Meanwhile Malum Caedo losing all his battle brothers making planetfall and missing every shot bc I have skill issue
Missile launcher are exotic weapon?
Less the missle launcher is exotic and rare and more the marine wielding it is.
Marines relegated to wielding heavy weapons are called devastator marines and each chapter has a set amount of certain specialty squads. Granted most chapters have normal tactical squads as the majority but many also have devastator squads functioning as suppressive fire units, artillery support, and infantry armor destroyers.
But they are rarer than tactical squads. There’s a reason why whenever a squad of space marines is portrayed in media, usually only one is wielding a heavy bolter.
The missile worked as a dancer in an admech strip club.
Dragonfire bolts are the best bolter rounds in my opinion.
I get sad thinking about sternguards because I think about Eternal Crusade and how I was so happy to unlock veteran tactical units for my Imperial Fist and Word Bearers characters, only for the game to be closed down a year later.
black templar in the backgrounds making weird noise
And they took my combi-flamer sternguards from me. I shall never forgive.
They’re still in the kit, guy
@@CMTechnica I meant the rules. It was more of a joke, but I don't like how "simplified" my SM army is in 10th edition.
nice
