Yeah, you are totally right. I used this image as it's the cover of The Great Works, and wanted to have Cawl and an Astartes together in a picture.
If Cawl and Bile don't end up working together, I'm gunna be so upset. Just imagine what they could create!

@@InquisitorJoshua Bile is the only one who successfully cloned a perfect primarch. Cawl seemingly is trying to clone the emperor. I wonder how the Proteus Protocol would play into this.
It’s gonna happen, remember that in one of the books the emperor told cawl that he would end up doing something that seems counter to the saving of the imperium, but would actually help save it, who better to bring back someone like Ferrus manus than the twin efforts of geniuses

I find the theory that he is actually Omegon really interesting, but I guess that is because I'm hoping for more Alpha Legion love.

Omegon (or a clone of omegon, with omegon just still out there), could work. had that same unpainted armor. the other world cawl just made 20 clones instead of one, which just dillutes the soul.
While I don't personally believe that Alpha Primus is a "clone" of the emperor per se, I think he is an attempt by cawl to somewhat reverse-engineer the emperor's powers by mashing together as many gene-seeds as he dared to. AP's age and powers may indicate that he was initially working on an army of mini-primarchs or big E's before scaling it back to something more realistic.

its stated pretty directly by primus himself that hes not, hes simply a space marine that cawl went too far with, i think the closest thing he comes to is cawls attempt to create something like a primarch, he rammed so many gifts into primus that it almost destroyed primus, he lives in permanent agony. But hes still a space marine, with gene seed and the rest, which is shown then bile cuts him open and takes his gene seed.
I would love to see it go in a direction like this, just to see how far GW is willing to push things.

yeah, this is like what i was trying to get at with my comment too. its an aspiration to create something at that level, but a crude "current day" 40k implementation. impossible to actually achive, for the hands at work are lesser and the knowledge required is lost, but Cawls best effort nonetheless.
At 4:22 that would have to be melanin instead of melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone related to sleep, melanins are a variety of pigments animals(mostly) use for protection from stuff like UV light.

Black armor, pale, prefers sneaky. Moves quietly enough for wearing armor, 10k old. Seems to me, all these fit Sharrowkyn, who would have been found with the Magna. Would make sense to me it would be him, since he hasn't re-emerged into the 40k universe
5 tons isn't actually that super powered compared to all the other numbers tossed around. IRL humans could accomplish that as well either during an intense muscle breakage event, or the use of powered tools. What makes a marine special is being able to do that consecutively and with ease.
Yeah, you're right, all things considered, moving 5 tons in this Galaxy is barely anything compared to the crazy deats of strength that some things can achieve.
Though, it doesn't sound like much, 5 tons is anywhere between 4500kg and 5000kg depending on which measurement system is being used.
The current world record for a Deadlift is by Hafthor Bjornsson who pulled 501kg. The Deadlift is one of the heaviest yet most mechanically efficient lifts a human can perform.
So even an Astartes struggling to lift a 5000kg Deadlift would still be insanely impressive, however you are definitely right in that they are able to move that amount of weight with ease, consistentlly, and also with a tactical mind set towards a specific outcome.

The marine in the thumbnail image isn't Alpha Primus. Its a primaris marine from Scythes of the Emperor chapter, probably Tetrarch Felix.
It’s not felix since felix is a ultramarine, not a scythe.
It’s one of the new scythes of the emperor if I remember correctly. This one’s a primaris marine which the original scythes during the book weren’t iirc.
Felix is an ultramarine and wears gravis armour with a boltstorm gauntlet, cape and iron halo

He used every primarchs gene seeds to reverse engineer the emperor.
I really like this idea. Reverse engineering the Emperor rather than cloning seems somewhat less heretical XD
I'm curious about something. Assuming that Belisarius Cawl was telling the truth, there should be no reason for Alpha Primus to be feeling pain. However, I have a theory that perhaps Primus feels the pain of his dead brothers who died during the failed creation process that eventually paved the way for his successful creation. This wouldn't be the wildest of theories since he is a powerful psyker. Another possibility is that he has some kind of unique warp-based ability. Or, perhaps Cawl added some traitor gene-seed that belonged to Angron. We know that before he got the Butcher's Nails put in him, Angron could absorb the pain and negative emotions of others. I wouldn't be surprised if Cawl tried to make his own Proto Primarch and you could explain it away that Primus doesn't know how to control this ability which could explain why he still feels pain.
This works very well. Especially with the empath ability of Angron. If some how Primus was linked to his previous brothers that died during the fail creation process it would make sense.
And thinking back to the Mirror, maybe those 20 Astartes in his place weren't an alternate reality where Cawl made 20 of him, each with their own different gene-father, but instead a representation of all the failed attempts that came before him?
@@InquisitorJoshua The discussion about the possibility of Cawl creating his own Proto-Primarch or something different altogether is quite fascinating. The idea of him playing God or should i say the Emperor is not entirely impossible, given his knowledge and skills. It is possible that he could be working towards creating a being that is not necessarily a Primarch, but not a Primaris either. Maybe something more akin to a Custodian, given that he is not at the same level as a Primarch, at least not yet. However, this new being could still be a force to be reckoned with, and could possibly even surpass the abilities of any Space Marine or Primaris.
It is also interesting to consider the gene-seed of this new being. It could have both loyalist and traitor gene-seed, since we know that Cawl is not content with sticking to the status quo. He wants to push his research as far as possible, and creating a being with both loyalist and traitor gene-seed could be just the thing to do that.
I do wonder, however, if Games Workshop ever plans to elaborate on Primus and reveal more information about this mysterious being. It's possible that this will remain a closely guarded secret.
@@EternalDaybreak I think one of the best attributes of Alpha Primus, is that he is such a blank slate. Almost anything can be done with him, his very creation allows him to go in whatever direction GW want.
One of the only things he is not, is Xenos. And hell, I wouldn't be shock if Cawl turned around and said he added some alien DNA in there just for the kicks and giggles.

He's a unique being that could become even more powerful in the future by honing his skills. This gives GW a unique opportunity to use him in any form in the future. Personally, I would like him to remain Loyalist if they are planning on committing to large changes or events for him.
I do wonder if Cawl intends to make more beings like him. We all know that Cawl is never content with just one of something and will likely create more. Or, perhaps, Alpha Primus was designed in such a way that he can be enhanced even further. This would explain why, so far, there is only one of his kind. It would make sense since Cawl shares the Emperor's original plan of bringing about an age of scientific discovery and a new Golden age where knowledge is available to everyone. Cawl wants to bring about a new era of scientific understanding, and perhaps Alpha Primus is a template for that. If the theories are true and he is around 10,000 years old or somewhere near that point, then he can already live much longer than any Astartes. We know Astartes can get quite old, but if we use Dante as an example (assuming it's not stress and just old age getting to him), then Primus could live much longer. It's quite interesting to speculate about."
I think youre on to something with suggesting that AP is inspired by the emperor, but i have to stop short there. yes he has all of the primarch DNA and yes he is constant pain like big E, but while Cawl is just short of a heretech, he is loyal to the omnissiah, and i really doubt his ego would go that far.
which is NOT to diminish that his ego WOULD go so far as to make a being out of the 20 primarchs seed, note not 18 primarch, and add in a bit of himself. i think he stops short at that level of hubris though, personally.

You're right though, Cawl currently just isn't capable of making an Emperor Clone, I still fully believe he would try, and has probably considered it on several occasions, but he is likely a long way off actually trying.
All the same, it would be very interesting to see what his goal with Alpha Primus is. I currently like the idea of him trying to make a new body for The Emperor, though when or how they would try to bring that into the story is anyones guess.
Honestly, I like the fact that The Emperor is a mystery. Bringing him into the setting at full power again would mean huge changes.

40k has some very rare moments of an expression of love, and this is one of the top ones 🥹
he is actually one of the primarchs maybe 2nd or 11th. captured alive by the wolf himself . and when cawl was asked to improve the space marines the custodes handed him over to cawl to use as a base and to study . hence he being over 10000 years old .
he was in stasis in the custodes vaults on tera before that . hence being awaken 10000 years ago when taken out of the vault and handed over and his mind wiped .
This isn't possible as in the Genefather book Bile says that Primus is made with Cawls genes
@@gregoryking6776 an astartes is also MADE with his genefathers genes . and we all know that an astartes is just a mordified human but the word MADE is still used in refering to astardes
so that does not mean that when MADE is used to refer to primus they are not refering to modifying him . remember we are dealing with GW and they leave loopholes like this that can be changed in the future

A veteran space marine with 100-200+ years of training and battle experience should already match or surpass a new Primaris or Thunder Warrior? Also there was a time a custode and a group of primaris were slaughtered by Black Templars just like the Space Wolves did to Grey Knights. Over some disagreement or political reasons?
What if alpha primus is cawls version of the angel of destruction.. primarch 0 without wings.. but way more sane and controlled.
It would be interesting to see then if Alpha Primus would later be revealed as considerably stronger than he already is.
The Angel could wipe out cities in seconds, so maybe if Cawl was able to save Alpha Primus's sanity, but by reducing his power, that could work. And if anyone has the blueprints, it would be Cawl.

he isnt, hes explicitly a creation of cawl, cawl wanted to create a primarch esque marine and went too far with primus, not everything needs to tie back to the primarchs, its more interesting for primus to be his own person, a twisted creation who knows what cawl did to him, and hates him for it. Calw states that he loves primus as a son, which wouldnt be the case if he was a primarch, already created by someone else.@@cordellej

We know cawl built primus's body and attatched a soul to it, and as we know with regards to ferrus manus and sanguinius, promarchs souls exist without their bodies, so its a good probability that the soul that was badly attatched to alpha primus is one of the fallen

I don't think I really agree with any points raised in this video that say Primus is anything more than the Primaris version of Leetu, however it does have me interested to see if they *do* do anything with him. None of the feats given really exceed Primaris capability and the passage that's read literally outright states him to be 8 feet tall, which is pretty baseline for an Astartes. When he's regarded as being huge, with all the other information this really just sounds like he's an exceptionally bulky Astartes. When the alternate reality shows 20 Astartes in place of Primus, all that explicitly says is that "real" Cawl accomplished with one Astartes something that took his alternate counterpart twenty separate attempts; like if the Emperor had made Sanguinius out the gate and stopped there instead of wanting 20 Primarch sons.
Furthermore, his feats of psyker ability aboslutely do NOT even come close to matching the feats of psykers like Mephiston and Tigurius. Mephiston is (quite literally) warp-god levels of powerful when it comes to psychic ability, and both he and Tigurius have either intimidated or beaten back the Tyranid Hivemind respectively in psychic battles. If you do genuinely believe Primus is more psychically powerful than both of these Librarians, please cite his feat and the source outside of "he is stated to be." Primus impresses Bile, Mephiston impresses Tzeentch, Sanguinius, and the Dark Angel of Baal. They are not equals in any sense.
I want to re-iterate though that I am more than happy with being disproven despite the tone I write with, so if there is any evidence for Primus actually being incredibly powerful beyond his author merely telling us he is without showing us, I want to be informed. I'm just not swayed by "A few (admittedly exceptional) people *say* he's cool." It just reeks of a writer wanting their creation to be the coolest toy in the toybox to me as is right now.
You are defintiely right. The "bulky" nature of Alpha Primus rather than being taller than 8 feet seems to be what was implied, especially with sneaking through the ship quote.
The Psyker part is admittedly not the best sourced, and I leaned heavily on the Authors statements, which isn't the best way to go around it, but with 40k being so famously viewed from the perspective of an "unreliable narrator", I decided to roll with it for the entertainment factor.
I have a lot to improve on when it comes to my research and conveying my thoughts, and hope to be able to produce higher quality videos as I go.

Funny how everyone is talking about possibilities of who that is. But in the book genefather. I can do one better. At one poiny cawl is put on trial about his STC contructs and how he replicated the same outcome using the dame method of each template. Meaning he made the same thing using same formula that operates how the template was created for. Without using the template itself. He later talks about how he needs to travel to a planet that goes back in time. So now you have a primaris marine who is known as prime, with a being that can replicate STC templates without actually studying them. Who wants to travel back in time to save humanity. Prime being a powerful alpha unknown psycher with no name. Traveling back in time before mankind made marines. Ill just say it. Belisarius Cawl is the Omnisiah and Primus is the Emperor.
Could Alpha Primus be one of the 2 lost Primarchs? Just a thought..
It's a very popular theory. Did think about doing a video on it, but there is just so little information about the Lost Primarchs that I'm not sure it could be interesting enough.

That's the thing, Cawl definitely made an attempt, just didn't really work out. Though the day Alpha Primus meets a Primarch will be very interesting, if it should happen.

Wrong primus is an emperor clone. And in gene father cawl plans to go back in time with prime before humanity. Cawl is the Omnisiah and prime is the emperor

Primus isn't some clone or failed primarch, he is Cawl's literal own son.

Alpha Primaris is still considerably less than a Primarch because the Magnificant gland Cawl made is a recreation of only the right half of the Immortis gland Big E created for the Primarchs (also called the God Maker) AND Big E went into the Warp on Moloch and corralled 23 minor Warp gods to put into the Primarchs. Alpha Primaris is better compared with Custodes.
I actually do agree with this. The Primarchs would more than likely stomp Alpha Primus, though I wouldn't be surprised if he put up a fight. Stranger things have happened!
And though I am making speculation about Alpha Primus being a Big E clone, I definitely don't want to go so far as saying Cawl succeeded, not even in terms of making a Primarch.
Though the fact that his soul doesn't seem "attatched" does make me wonder if Cawl was able to find some kind of Warp gods/entities to do this, but even that seems like a long shot.
Alpha Primus compared to a Custodes is much more of a "fair" fight, possibly. Though the Custodes would then have to contend with his Pysker powers, and at that point a Sister of Silence wouldn't be missed.
@@InquisitorJoshua I tell you, Cawl is definitely one of the more intriguing characters in this story, he has so much potential to bring progress & change to the story..... like the idea of Cawl or his research becoming available to Bile is terrifying or, what if he found out about the intact AND updating STC database on board the Ark Mechanicus Sperenza or, suppose while searching for Noctolith he interacts with the Necrons more and the Silent King decides he needs Cawl to work on reversing bio-transference-
just a few possibilities of the character.

Cool video, but to improve please get to the point. We know what astartes are, I clicked on this video especially to figure out who the guy in the thumbnail is and 3 minutes in your still talking about astartes. I skip ahead until I find at 8 minutes you finally get into the topic of the video. This is how you lose viewers. If your going to introduce astartes, make it quick because a newbie to warhammer most likely will not click on this video when they dont even know what a primarch is. Its important to understand what your title is and who is going to catch it, so as an extension of my previous statement, your going to get more knowledgeable 40k fans to click on this video if not someone who understands what astartes are.
Ill say it again but I dont need an 8 minute introduction into astartes when I know them already. This would cut down the video length from almost 18 minutes to about 10-11 minutes, the length of your typical Majorkill video. Speaking of... Majorkill is great with these kinds of things try to look at how he does his videos. I sure do wish his videos were a little but longer on some days but he reciprocates information he learns very well to us viewers.

Yes, I actually completely agree with you. I wasn't really 100% sure where I wanted to go with this video and how to present a video for a new starting channel. Also really had no idea what kind of person would click the video. Worried that if they were new to 40k, they would have no idea what I was talking about. Evidently, I misjudged and and now have a much clearer idea of who my audience is!
Luetin09, Majorkill, and Sandman of Terra are my inspirations for how I intended to present these videos, so went for a sort of middle ground.

Honestly, I think GW is seeing how well they are doing and going to continue hard with the lore. There is so much I want to research and learn, hald the reason I decided to start making videos was because I wanted to help myself consolidate the information XD

Yes, you are correct, this is not Alpha Primus, this is indeed an Astartes from Scythes of the Emperor.
However, there are no pictures or artwork of Alpha Primus out there, and with how heavily featured Alpha Primus is in The Great Works, I felt it acceptable to use the cover of the book for this video.
I wanted to include both Belisarius Cawl and Alpha Primus (any faceless Astartes would do) in the thumbnail, which is also how I came to this choice.
I hope this small confusion wasn't enough to put you off from enjoying the video.

You didn't even bring up the subject of the video until halfway through. You gave some books quotes and then randomly at the end throw out one theory but provide ZERO evidence to it or how it would even be possible.
You are correct, I didn't get down to the details of the video until about half way through. I am still new to this whole thing, and figuring out the steps, as well as how I will present the content. Thankfully this is a community of reasonable understanding people, who are able to present positive and constructive feedback (mostly).
