Floating at 6’3” 240-250, I can attest this is the best fitting boat I’ve been in. The design of the hull is everything I’d hoped for from Prijon, a big step up from displacement hulls I first learned on, but nothing too grabby. I do think the hip pads need to foam shims behind them for most people, otherwise just not as secure as I like. Thigh braces were fine after adjustment, you definitely don’t need them rotated out and all flimsy like that, once you pull the bulkhead back to get your knees up in that pocket, it fits better to rotate them out a decent ways, which only makes it easy to get in and out of the kayak. At 6’3”, I can sit with both my knees up and out of the cockpit!?! That’s incredible! The ONLY downside of that, is I needed to order a bigger skirt for IR, that XXL, which I believe only comes with a Lucky Charm right now. But my old Mountain Surf skirt has gotten a little tighter over the midriff the past few years anyways… ;D Thanks for your thoughts on the Beast!
I picked up the Beast back in June and have loved it so far. I found the IR Royale XL fits perfectly. I really like the thigh hooks. When adjusted, they are really comfortable, but engaging despite the flex. I find the new prx seat extremely comfortable, but worry about durability in the long run. I just enjoy the plastic mostly. The new track could use some work, doesn't really hold a water bottle/throw rope well, but the old style typically broke in my Cocaine, Cali, and Curve Creek fairly quickly. Overall, they did a great job with this boat.
@@WadeHarrison Reglisse in St Crepin France is the one I will go to. It is in the Southern French Alps. I am based in the North Wales and as far as I know we don’t have a dealer in the UK.
I did a review of the drysuit I will drop something on the vest by the end the year but I can tell you it’s the best vest on the market today. I left a link above 👆🏻 where to order one if interested.
I have a Beast and it is one of the most flexible boats I’ve ever paddled. The first batch to the US might have been different but the Beast I received is not like other Prijons. I know someone who has already cracked their Beast and Prijon said there is nothing they can do because it was on class V. I’m pretty sketched out to take it on anything too big because I’m worried that it will cave in.
That’s crazy where you get it from? I guess it’s like anything there can be bad batches out there but I personally have not heard anything like that about Prijon. But it’s possible when these first dropped maybe they were trying to figure out the lightest they could go on the plastic? And the ones they were sending over here they dropped more plastic in. I would be curious to weigh it next to one these because this one felt like a dam tank. I did not feel any flex in the plastic but the thighhooks well that’s another story.
Great review Wade thanks! I saw a Pike on the water recently that the guy had put a Dagger seat into instead, it looked perfect! What's your take on the Guardian vest?
@jameswalsh1690 it does help. I have put a Dagger seat in a few Prijons and it really stiffens up the hull (especially if it’s the generation of seat before this one). My current Curve Creek has a Dagger Ergo seat in it and it absolutely makes it better.
@@WadeHarrison I am one of the few people who did not like the ReactR. This is mainly about how it fits with my knackered body. It is obviously a very capable boat.
How did those slabby front sideways work out? Forever nostalgic for my Hurricane, so this looks very very tempting (other than the gRapHIc dEsIGn iS mY PAssIoN stickers and thigh braces but it's a Prijon - it's going to have something quirky)
I felt if you go into a hole and are facing left or right it goes that way and those flat walls make it very difficult to get back on track. But once you figure them out and how to use them to your advantage it reminds me of the rEactR wave defectors up there you know when to engage them and when not to.
How many pesos bro? One thing I'd love to to see a comparison on in your vids is the US MSRP on the models. Maybe I've missed where you've mentioned iit...? Seems relevant for followers. 🤷♂
Yeah I try to not mention price on anything because as you know they fluctuate constantly. I always put easy to find links to dealers you can click and find out in like 3 seconds. But when it comes to whitewater kayaks safe to say at this point will be 1200-1800$ on any new kayak and that can vary dramatically when buying used.
@@WadeHarrison The MSRP should technically never fluctauate....Manufacturers set the MSRP and MAP prices. There are MAP breaks during sale times designated by the manufacturers but technically the MSRP and MAP pricing should be honored. I think it relevant but its your channel :)

Cool to see some additional angles besides POV! Nice work as always, thanks Wade!
Haha so true
I’ve been paddling the Beast since April and I’m super happy with it. What’s cool is that almost all parts are produced in Germany.
Yes I can see that. So just the Ratchets and Ratchet Straps are not made locally those are made in China. I know because I use to order them.
I hope to get in a demo when I get to France next spring. It looks interesting.

How do you feel this compares to the Reactr?
The reactr is better in every aspect except plastic durability
I’m 185, OG, scorch M/L, ReactR, Stoke or this for class V to V+ creeks, thanks so much, rocking a 242 now, but need something more in IV + V, V+

What river is this?
Russell Fork River in Va/Ky USA the upper and gorge section.
I’m 185, react-R med or large for class IV,V,V* creeks? Thanks for answering my questions
Definitely the medium
Cool review. Thoughts for paddlers in the 150 -160 lb size?
Will be on the bottom side this one is like a medium large but it’s not crazy big.

Beast vs Reactor vs Indra 🤔
