It wasn’t Buffy. Andrew made the story up just to play with Angel and Spike’s emotions for fun. After season 7, Buffy had several “decoys” around the world so bad guys couldn’t pinpoint or target her. This was one such decoy.
For me the Angel and Spike deall with Buffy that she someone have is so stuppid. They like babies that someone stoll theirs toy.. Like Angel and Cordy storyline and Spike and Buffy..
@ejmcguinness6875 I knew it.. I thought it was my imagination. She really was secretly in love with Spike, but I am not sure she knew it or even if she did she didn't want to admit it to herself. ❤❤

its kinda dumb how angel thinks spike has no chance with buffy or anything yet spike is the true love of her life, being what she really is and him loving the woman inside truly whilst angel only romantised the warrior/slash dynamic of the two and aswell as projecting his doomness in a way where she is the key to solving it and them being destined or whatever when that ain;'t true when in fact he only loves that feeling and dynamic but not really the woman inside, she told Angel he was her boyfriend in her heart and she said i love you and don't argue it cause the creators intended to be that way, Angel is just an ass
