  • How to decrease temperature on the attic. Roof turbine vents.
The temperature on the attic in one of my projects was getting off the charts on summer time, so we were looking for ways to decrease it. With installation of Air Vent roof turbines from Lowe's we were able to decrease temperature from 118 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
The video is about the tip, but not the tutorial for installation.

If your attic floor is not fully sealed you are just cooling it with your house air. These turbines simply sucking inside air through all gaps to the attic and then dumping it outside. And it is even worse for your energy bills.

On this project the attic floor is sealed meticulously. But I will disagree. If we are talking overall about the event you mentioning - first of all the hot air always goes up, so turbines will be pulling it out first. In houses in hot climates there is no way on summer time the turbines will pull so much hot air cooling off attic that the temperature there gets closer to house indoor temperature. When it's 110 on the attic and HVAC is in supersonic mode sweating trying to keep 74 inside, it will be odd to assume that Roof Turbines is pulling anything from the indoor of the house if attic floor is not well insulated, they got work to do in attic space first.
