Back in Priest days, Ripper had a somewhat goofy stage presence that wasn't optimal. Now he's so confident and charismatic - and his vocal performance is as good as it was back then. Man, that's good. I'd love to have a HQ recording of this. Wow.
RIPPER OWENS kicks ass on the two studio and two live albums with PRIEST... Its a damn shame the won't print his music now and left it out of the box set...he was good enough at the audition and caried the torch very well yet he is being treated like this now..WHAT THE HELL is their damn problem ..RIPPER kicks ass

I was introduced to Judas Priest with the Jugulator album, which I loved. I checked out the rest of their stuff, but it didn't really click the same way with me. I thought Jugulator and the "Ripper" years were their peak. I only discovered afterwards the "Ripper" years were the considered the dark years of Priest, that even they are trying to more or less delete from their history. They own the masters from those albums but refuse to re-release them in physical or digital formats. It's a shame...
Ripper still has it vocally. Too bad the recording was auto-level which drowned out whatever wasn't the loudest (vocal or instrument). It kinda ruined it.
Judas Priest definitely picked the right guy for these songs. Ripper Owens excels at anything he sings.

100% agree. I think he had a confidence issue IMHO. You see him on stage with KK's Priest now, he's matured *so* much in terms of stage presence!
I am a big priest fan and Tim has still got it, fantastic vocal.
