  • The room that these windows look into used to be the back porch but the previous owners closed it in to add an extra room onto the house. Now the windows don’t make sense and I don’t like looking into other rooms - so this is my temporary fix! #shorts #diyproject #homedesign

Can’t understand why so many people want wood stain. Wood is casual and rather old fashioned these days. I was definitely pro black. Put when I saw this one I began to waver. I kind of like 1:4 or half round trim, esp 1/4. Like the pained white because it is same look as panel. Don’t care if looks intentional, like that they match in style: homemade, modernist,, never noticed base boards. It’s a bit of extra work, but so was the white sheet. It’s hard for me to give my thinish black frame, but thinks it’s because it’s how I always frame my art, but I can’t get that 1/4round white outta my head. Kitchen art should be free and wild. Go for it. You can always go black , easy and cheap if you tire of the white. Wood blah brown.

It has a history of the family who originally built the house. Off from the very large living room at the back with beautiful big fireplace was what used to be a large outdoor porch. It had been enclosed with brick and big beautiful windows almost like what you could call a sun porch. The windows in the living room had been left in tact and so you could look from those back windows to that beautiful enclosed room that is now used for breakfast dining. I remember thinking how beautiful and cozy it looked! I definitely loved the look!❤️

I love an open concept, so I would probably like having those windows, or even opening that space up completely. My kitchen being closed off from my living room is actually one of the things I don’t like about my house now. I went from the living room kitchen and dining room being all open in one large space to the house I’m in now where the kitchen is only semi open to the dining room area. But the saving grace is my dining area and living room are open space for the most part.

Your furniture are good with them. Some people like to just look at the texture. You might try painting the side edges white. It'll give a little depth, but you it's not obnoxious.
Later if you need a change, you could always paint something on them, etc.
I'd put greenery in vase on table. Maybe use sage vase (s) on your shelves and put a a small piece of the orange foliage from the
    Vase on table.

pick a color u love in the room, like the chairs, and just get half round with the lip in the vynal trim from home improvment store. scuff it and take a sample if the color to paint counter. those leafs in the vase almost match the chairs too. you can measure and angle cut to make a simple frame, one that you can slip on an enjoy or take off and repaint if decore changes. of you can give the kids construction paper and have them tear into bits and modepodge around the edges to make an abstract frame.
