The grille, it probably hurts those who don’t like it more, because this is the Flagship of #BMWM, an undeniable fact when you look at its history! But I’ve had quite the different run up to driving this car. I got to see it before the launch, and thus looked at it with fresh eyes and no outside opinions. And for me as a big AMG fan, the more aggressive look appealed to me. It reminded me of the old 328, the modern 328 hommage, or the epic CSL Hommage concept.
Back then that #W M3 was in Green, then I got to see a stealthy matte grey when I visited the M Town set to film the ad for the performance wheels, this made me more of a believer. The M3 touring I saw in secret finished it off!!
And finally today, the big drive. I’ve already driven both the M4 and this M3, and as a spoiler I can tell you, they’ve both smashed my expectations to pieces!
M have worked hard on the new M3, but it gets lost in the controversial grille, and the similar performance on paper: not to mention the X3m not helping with it’s lacklustre introduction using the same engine.
But looking inside as we will today, everything is from scratch. New engine, 8 speed ZF gearbox, suspension, exhaust system, rigidity measure... Tonnes has been done to make these cars as good as they are, l no stone left unturned, so where on paper performance seems similar it’s the drive that really shows us more! Today we’re going to do a deep dive and check out every detail and then burn some rubber M Town style in the new M3 comp!

Saw the photos of the grill, I covered my eyes. Dropped in to a BMW dealership today, saw the M4 in frosted grey and man, it really does work for me.

2 series is the best modern drivers car by BMW! I'd rather have an M2 comp or even a 21 M240i than any old school M car! Performance overall is much better, and certainly more reliable as well!
Just one note for editing, could you make the sound of the transition from car to car a bit lower as it is quite loud in comparison to your voice.

All black satin or glossy with carbon package exterior is the one to go, and as the previous gen, the M3 is the better looking one especially because of the rear stance

A lot of people are surprized that M3 has the same face as M4... while this has been the case also for E90 and F80. For F80, maybe that was not very obvious, but for E90 getting that E92 beautiful front end, was awesome. Another funny thing, when they facelifted the E92, both E90 and E92 M3s actually kept the non facelift face. Good call. The coupe facelift ruined the front end.
Great review. I was super into the dark colors but this dravit grey like shade is awesome too. RBR and Raz needs to have 10x the subscribers he has. Ridiculously good and so much better than any other major reviewers out there.

First off, RBR is one of my favorite channels. The best in-depth reviews, that pay homage to a vehicle's past that led to the current incarnation. Your reviews give the audience the most up close and personal experience and this BMW M3 Competition video clinched it for me. I hope to get one within six months. Did I miss the mention of the exterior color of this car? I really like the spec. I'm thinking Oxide Grey Metalic and Kyalami Orange/Black. I happen to love the new grill, a key feature that is bringing me back to BMW. Love the aggressive front. Great videos from a true enthusiast.

The thing is, this M3 won’t sound much better than that C63, to my mind the battle is yet to start!

@@RemoveBeforeRace how is it possible the 'facelifted' Giulia can still make the same great sound? Sorry but this M3 and the next C63 (45) won't match driving feel and goosebumps for me. Try to do the M3 acceleration with the windows open and see what's left from the sound.

@@peterhammer6915 i didn't as you probably knew. I have driven the F80 before I made my choice and even that car was a massive disappoinment. The C63s was a closer call but the alfa just was the car for me. (After having a 5-series for a couple of years ) you don't have to be a scientist to figure out on this video the new G80 is just as quiet. I don't want one but that doesn't mean someone else can't enjoy it and like it. Buy for yourself, that's my advice.

0:00 looks fantastic 😌👌 but redesign that bonnet and it’s the best looking car of the year. But to be completely honest, that new grill has “grown” on me (more like I’ve gotten use to it) however, it only works in certain colours

Yeah it has grown on me. But not where I really like it but more like I grown to accept the fact that being not the best looking thing. But the more I look at it the rest of the car looks really off to me..not bad looking but really not we'll put together. The wheels being different sizes., The fact that side skirts don't look great on the car and looks too high of the ground. The wheel arches are too huge . Like it just bugs me too much and I hate looking at that car. Especially the m4 I think looks horrible. The m3 looks way better but I wouldn't wanna look at it for long. Cuz I see the previous m3 and boy does that make this new look hideous
with that grill, i thought the best colour is the matt grey but look at this whitish colour, look from your rear view mirror, you just wanna get out of d way. really aggresive look. u just know it s not a 320D behind you

Raz, how does this compare to the 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio?
Similar feeling of speed and agility, surprised considering this is heavier. Alfa more rabid, but the M3 is a better package.
I think the M car is the better “car” while the alfa is more fun to drive, excited to see the nurb times

Thanks, in Singapore, the M3 competition is listed a US$75k higher (cars are precious here) than the Alfa GQV and I do not see a justification for that price gap. Although, BMW’s badge value, especially in Asia, is undeniable.

I much prefer my Quadrifoglio, best decision I made late last year and glad I never picked this M3 up.
@@ExLondoner I have 1200 miles on my new Giulia Ti Sport awd and it’s the best driving C-class sedan in this price class bar none. I’m saving for a QV.
@@lotsofcurveslover had the ti sport and spent 6 grand on upgrades but it was still no match for the quadrifoglio that I currently own.
