Awesome Content Guys! I got into PC building last year after being down and out after Cancer surgery. I have learned so much from watching you guys thanks for what you do!
my first gaming PC was the Aurora R3, had i7-2600k, 8gb ram, 2xGTX460s 1gb/ea in SLi, AIO....upgraded to a EVGA GTX680 FTW 4gb, played everything I threw at it no problems, this case will always have a special place in my heart :) GG
I have the Alienware Area 51 R2 unit with the now famous and much desired Triad Case! LOVE this system! I've gone all-in with Alienware, with the AW768 RGB Mechanical Keyboard, the AW959 RGB Gaming Mouse with weight system, and an Alienware RGB Mousepad to round it all off! I have built every PC I have ever owned since 1990, except this one, and I am SO glad I got this bad boy! Looks fantastic and man can this beast do some serious gaming and number crunching!
@TIMEtoRIDE900 the 2 have no correlation. Netflix just runs really slow on DVRs provided by Satillite TV. If you have a smart TV use the app that is built into the TV instead of running off your satellite box. It should run a lot better on there. If you don't have a smart TV. I would get a Roku or a Amazon fire stick to watch Netflix on. Hope this helps.
This is a very calm Alienware case because I believe they were acquired by Dell in 2006 technical and started changing their designs in the years just before 2010. Seem to be fully integrated in the Dell cog machine in 2009ish perhaps. Anything after 2008 is very much a different Alienware as far as design of the chassis. Anything from late 90s to 2008 should have more of the OG Alienware aesthetic.
I own this computer and still use it - upgraded video card, HD, memory, and now want to upgrade the venting system!!! Would love info on how to purchase and modernize these machines.
Remember owning two of these. I was tempted on upgrading one of the two back when the RX500's were competing with Nvidia's 10 series of cards. Never did so sadly, but I did have fun swapping around parts and combining the ALX case with the 4930k model. With some modification that could improve airflow, these are quite some big cases that could be decent.
I got two old school Alienware sleepers myself / Area 51 X58 wartime edition chrome and black and the aroura r2 alx with the fins at the top that open to vent the air ... they air really cool to look at but you need to mod the cases for better air flow
That case is still my main rig :) with a 10700k and a 6800xt I made a pcb a while back that replaces that dell board and removes the need for their software. It converts all RGB zones to a single argb header & takes over front bay & motherboard IO light control. I love how strong/well it's build, and the no screw opening. Nowadays cases are thin metal sheets. (+ the childhood nostalgia)
In Cyberpunk FSR 2.0 was enable, the 700 series are not getting supported with FSR 2.0 only FSR 1.0. 🙂 The only way is to disable FSR and play nativ on 720p / low settings for around 35 FPS avarage.
Bought one of these back in mid 2013, got it for dirt cheap and it was my entry to computer gaming, thing was solid as, sadly I sold it around 2015 when I decided to build a new computer in an even older shell, the case was so unique, really regret selling it.
I had this Pc. It was pretty decent. I eventually decided to build my own and have ever since. I bought mine in 2012 with a i7-2600 and GTX 560 Ti. Then I upgraded to a GTX 970.
I just bought one for 150, the r1 with an i7 930 and radeon hd 6950 with 18gb ram in triple sets. 20 bucks on a ssd, 15 for a xeon, 6 for artic silver. 99 for an amd rx 580 8gb. A11 bios to get the xeon going and i even got the bluetooth working in windows 10 with some lenovo drivers i found... it's pretty well maxed out, with about a 12% cpu bottleneck that I'll work out with some good old oc'ng. Good enough for me, i just enjoy the case and the nostalgia.
@@Hairybarryy kinda just tweaked the microcode got rid of all the i7s and then replaced them with xeons for cpu support using microcode from a gigabyte ud3 bios then injected micro code for rebar onto the motherboard since anything ivybridge and up can use the rebar mod then tweaked nvidia drivers with nvidia profile inspector to add rebar to the 2080ti in newer games with all the mods done on a software level I get up to 20% more performance but the lack of AVX2 kinda makes it marginal gains in some titles like battlefield 5
@Joseph Dias that's awesome I bought one that came with a 4930k and attempted to put in a 1680 v2 without the mod and it wouldn't boot. I'm going to give this a shot this afternoon when I have time. Thanks again
I actually still use this computer to this day, the gpu (gtx 690) died on me so I bought a 1650 but the cpu stil runs today, it's alot slower than before but it gets the job done. The computer is really great, because everything else still runs perfectly fine

I got one these pc it’s 13 years old. died and resurrected 8 times, I’m still using it. Only thing is CPU at its end, games are getting out of its league but learned a lot about pc from it.
I just got one for free with an i7 4820k and a 560ti 2gb 8gb ram and a 500gb hdd, sadly no side pannel and the top usb port door is missing but still such a beast
slap a 960, 970, 980 or respectively a 470 or 480, and you'd still have a decent enough gaming system, but alas this is not the case. BUT that is one dope ass case
I think 2012 was still original alienware before it sold to Dell? You may have mentioned this already as I am typing this only a few min in to the video.
4th gen i7 (even 3rd and 2nd) was a beast. You could upgrade to an RX 5700 XT without bottle-necking that 10 year old cpu! Very surprised a single fan AIO kept it cool. That's when you know it's OC time! Edit: I should say without bottle-necking much.
Hey toasty bro's I watched a video called, "why are people buying this 469 gaming pc?" I bought it, and it brought me to the tjj snake instead of tjj halo do you know if I can upgrade to a RX580 im trying to get rid of the GT 1030?
You could go on pc part picker and check the motherboard compatibility, but make sure you know what it is. You're gonna have to mess with screws though
I'll never understand how Alienware PCs don't constantly over-heat: there appears to be no space for inbound air at the front and the chassis is stuffed full of aluminium grille's, brackets and god knows what else.
Hi dear friends. I also want to buy aurora r4 motherboard I can't get clear information about it plz tell me can i upgrade to 4th gen without updating bios
I sold one of these I got for free in 2017. The Motherboard was almost dead and it had a Alma-like ghost. Even dead, I sold it for 200 if only for the case.
I do t think the seller made any money from shipping. That box looks heavy and bulky. I sold my old Acer X34P monitor last year on ebay, and it cost 120.00 to ship it. Shipping prices are absolutely ridiculous.
yes it can take up to a 2080ti I gave my old r4 to my brother last week with 2080ti and a bios mod to run the 1680v2 oced to 4.4 all core with rebar it can still hang but number 1 cooling for the case is terrible only 1 intake and 1 exhaust fan and number 2 the best cpus for it have the raw power for new games they just lack av2 instruction sets so you miss out on alot of performance due to that but in cinebench the 1680v2 with heavy oc is between a 2700x and 3700x
