Very good build! I wondered why you only have around 90 Followers. The Video was really good, I enjoyed it, espacially the Paint-Job. Keep up the work!
You should look into x99, e5 2640 v3 exactly with Turbo Boost Unlock mod, it runs 3.4ghz on all 8 cores/16threads, competes with old ryzen like ryzen 2600 or intel i5 8400. Not that much price difference in this build.
I've looked into them before, not the e5 2640 v3 specifically, but I've used the e5 2690 v3 and such. They are really good options, but IMO, at least in Canada / USA, Ryzen CPUs, and motherboards have gotten so cheap that those x99 combos are kind of irreverent. This might be different if you're in a different location (UK, Australia), but IMO, not in Canada. Price for E5 2640 V3 Combo = ~100$ Price for Ryzen 5 2600/1600 Combo = ~140$ IMO, the 40$ to get onto a more upgradable platform is really worth it, and another thing to consider, is the cooler prices, if you're getting a cheap cooler off Aliexpress, then this part is irrelevant, but as soon as you want to get a slightly nice cooler, it's gonna cost 10-20$ more than getting a nice AM4 Cooler. (AVG X99 aesthetic cooler price: 40$ vs AVG AM4 aesthetic cooler price: 20$) So in the end, you're not really saving all too much. It's not a bad option by any means, and the performance is more than good for a budget build, but I'd only really recommend building with X99 if u plan to get the cheapest (yet decent) build possible, 0 aesthetics, all performance. Otherwise, go AMD, you won't regret it.
@Pawntech oof, man i live here in the ph, and we have our own version of ali, like lazada where we get prices exactly from taobao. An e5 2640 v3 cost like 6usd and a machinist x99 motherboard is like 30 usd a 4 pipe heatsink also cost 6usd so its around 50usd here for a whole x99 platform.
50$ USD is hella good, tho gotta factor in ram [16gb] about 70$ USD total - 20$ for the ram - which converts to 100$ CAD, it's definitely worth looking into if you can get the CPU for cheap, but at least for now, with the prices where they are, Ryzen is my go to pick for about 500$ builds. If it's under 350$ then saving those few bucks with X99 would definitely allow for a nice budget rig within the cheap budget. Great chip, just meh pricing (when factoring in the whole combo - CPU, Motherboard RAM, and Cooler)
100% agree, as said in the video, i'd highly recommend getting the e3 1230 v2 (or better), but since i got the i5 3470 in a decent combo deal i just decided to used it.
for about 200$ i don't think it's possible [ note: prices are in CAD, if u had 200$ USD, then, maybe, but with 200$ CAD, about 150$ USD, it's gonna be hard ] if upwards of 300-350$, then yes, outright performance is worse, but you'd get an upgrade path etc which is good for the future. But this was mainly a challenge for myself to see if i can build a cheap but working PC for light 1080p gaming, rather than the most optimal gaming PC
Depends on the budget, for under 50$, get a rx 470/570/480/580, or a 1060 6GB if u have more to spend, smth like a 1070, 1660 [all models], or a 5600xt would be a good pick for around 100$ or less those GPUs should be a decent pairing with the i5, and I wouldn't really recommend getting anything better (since the platform is quite old)
@@lessan135 any brand should work, just get smth with the colours u like. Also try to get the paint + primer, 2 in 1, usually this is only what u need, tho sometimes it's good to add on a protective spray over the paint.

@@Rayu25Demon ye makes sense, i totally agree with your opinion as well, if u can afford the mini pc, ill do wonders. Especially now, considering the wide range of available e-gpu setups to get better FPS down the line, but with a limited budget, imo this is still a decent build for entry level gaming - anyways thanks for watching and commenting ur opinion!
@Pawntech apu are not good options for new PC games, eGPUs are expensive and running at x4 pcie lanes only. For me, mini PCs are good for a retro emulation setup.
@@Rayu25Demon depends what you plan to do, I like both APUs and Mini desktop solutions cause they work for a wide range of people. APUs are a good placeholder for people that can't afford a better GPU right away, but are still enough to play basic/light games at reasonable frame rates. Mini PC's are also a good option, perform pretty well for the price, and consume not a lot of power. While eGPU's are kinda expensive, they are getting cheaper with more and more companies making ways to add on a GPU. Even at x4 lanes it's still better than most iGPUs and would still perform decently for lots of people out there. Realistically, it depends on what you do, some people would choose an APU type system, others would choose a Mini PC solution, both are good, but none are perfect.
