I feel like portuguese songs don't translate well to Eurovision, because most of these are massive successes in house. Not only that, most of these songs have beautifully written and impactful lyrics - and if not that, they are cheeky or ironic. For example, until 1974 we lived under a dictatorship and some of those songs were revolutionary in themselves because they surprisingly got through censorship despite their "shocking" lyrics - «Desfolhada» sent everyone into a tailspin because of the lyric 'Quem faz um filho fá-lo por gosto' meaning roughly 'those who make a child, make it out of pleasure'. Poetry is very important for most of our artists and very valued in Portugal. People not being able to understand the lyrics and its context often doesn't let them appreciate the true value of the songs. Nevertheless, I would say that most Portuguese people would agree that the early 2000's were crap.
Do something original? Lol 2019 was original yet didn't qualify! Gotta say your relying on the 10 seconds of music, the person who edited the whole thing picked the wrong parts of songs to show. I recommend you listening to some of the tracks for the full 3minutes then making judgement. Post that video Funny, the Suzy song you loved 'your fav so far', failed to qualify! So what does that say...
Forget it. Portugal doesn't have your "type" of music/noise. Sorry...and, by the way, I have nothing against your poor musical taste , but please try something more original. Take care.

So, for you a good song is a fast one or some uptempo shit. Nice 😂
The girl who sang in 1993 was 16 years old
Música Portuguesa só para quem tem bom gosto grandes poemas
I have a hard time getting into Portugal's ESC songs too. The only ones I truly love are 1982 and 2022 (I also like 1996, 2009, 1973, 2019, and 2009)
telemoveis is amazing
The girls in 1993 have This years 16 years

Portugal's songs are boring.
Only for boring people.
Eurovision songs you mean. We are not going to put rock or metal in this kind of contest
