I think Obito's fire involves him not using much chakra as he's using his kamui to expand the flame of his fire. Madara probably uses more chakra than Obito as he has more chakra and chakra control for such a huge fire. So in short, Madara has better chakra control, Obito uses kamui to expand his techniques.
