I can appreciate the effort that has gone into this video. A very good demonstration 👍🏻 looks great.
Thank you very much
I really like the box joint jig it’s something I’ve been wanting to try myself for so long. I’ve used bed slats for a lot of projects they’re a really good source of material and the round over made the box even better. Not sure I’m a fan of the dark brown stain I think it looked better without so maybe just a wax would’ve worked.
2 questions my black and white friend....
1. Why did you cut the lid like that, and not all the way through?
2. Why did you do finger joints if you were staining it and camnot see them? Was it purely for strength?
Really like it, and i love the wood-shavings-as-packaging idea! Thanks for the video.
Pretty box! I've just got myself a 6 mil groove cutter blade that I think will be perfect for finger joints! My family will be sick of all the boxes ...
Great video, thanks for sharing. That finger- or box joint jig looks quite easy to make. I should try it. You mentioned the joint was a little bit too much of a tight fit. What can be done to make it a little less tight? Congratulations on reaching the 50K subscriber milestone.
A great way to personalise a gift Matt, although it means a lot of repetitive cuts I really like the look of the thin finger joints and it gives a huge glue area of course !
That Clarke planer thicknesser you have seems to be a very effective tool, how are you finding it now after a good few months use ? It seems a good compromise between capacity and storage space.
Always like a box joint jig video - reminds me I need to do this, and this was the clearest and easiest to follow yet. I think I finally understand 😂
Hi love your videos. Just a quick question do you have heating in the workshop?
A nice gift there Matt. I like the way you cut the lid, first time I've seen it done that way and it makes a lot of sense 👍
Thank you. I have tried a few ways and like this the best
Nice box, don't like that finish one bit though.
Nice smelling wine thanks to shavings. The Freud blades are very good value. I have one in my tracksaw at the moment cuts really well, made in Italy not far east. 👍🏻
I will have to get a tracksaw one
Nice wee project. What setting or adjustment dictates the tightness of the fingers joints?
The size of the pin.
Lovely box personally I would have left it au natural
Thank you
Stunning box, Matt! Really beautiful work! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you very much
Very nice box Matt. I think you could do with making a zero clearance throat plate for your table saw , lot safer. Geoff
I don't understand the title.
Some people are hard to buy for. This is a gift for such a person.
Hi Matt, what a lovely gift, a brilliant piece of work who wouldn't be happy with that bottle and presentation box. Neat finger joints and a good finish on the wood. Once again you have turned unwanted wood in to some thing great. As always a great video, Take care
Hi Matt, that is certainly a very good gift idea, and who ever gets the box will be extremely lucky, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
Great techniques shown, only thing I would mention is the sawdust and glue trick isn't great when using a stain as the glue cant be stained, as you can see on the finger joints where it was rubbed in there is lighter patch. paint may have been better in this situation.
Hi Matt, another great job. Thank you.
Thank you
Nice project Matt, I’ll certainly be giving this one a go myself! Thanks!
Thank you
was my birthday last week and my Mrs always says I'm hard to buy for. Looking forward to this arriving in the post - I love Primitivo. Good choice 😀
She better get In the workshop ready for next year
I like Freud blades - I think the original company was Italian and I’m sure they paint them Ferrari red so they go faster
Haha yes I think your right
Like that, I think you have just solved my Christmas challenge for next year. 😂
Thank you. I think we all have at least one hard to buy for person
What a lovely gift and made from an old bed,who would guess, very well done Matt 👍
Thank you
Nice one Matt! I truly like the round over bit and the color does look nice!
Thank you
Excellent work Matt really enjoyed the video.
Thank you very much
Excellent work 👍👍
Thank you
Keep the wine and just send the box 😅
I'm happy with that
Another useful product. Thanks
Thank you
@@Badgerworkshop I don't know if you have already done it, but a basic educational course on woodwork and simple hand tools, restoring furniture etc for beginners, something like your recipe chanel, might be a useful idea. You are very good at teaching. A list of instructions in the notes or even a book to accompany the series could enhance it.
Nice job Matt
Thank you
Great project
Thank you
