That's an iconic locomotive 🚂, the 2-8-2 and it's chime whistle are historic, would like to see 4501 and N&W J Class 4-8-4 611 highballing on the NS mains again, if Wick Moorman was still in there they probably would be!🛤👍
@ChaisanN&W1218 your channel is amazing, your photo of a loco is great, keep up the great work, my friend, i subbed your channel Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
I remember this engine well. When I was little in the 70's, the 4501 would roll through about once a year coming north from Chattanooga. I'm not sure where they ended up. Knoxville, maybe?
Can someone give a detailed explanation of the bridge restriction that prevents the passenger rail traffic from going under it? What is the deficiency of the bridge? How much will is cost to repair? Can TVRM afford to get it repaired? I asked people during a recent trip on the Copperhill Special but no one seemed to have an explanation, or a timeline for return of the Summerville Steam Special. Thanks in advance!
Also it wasn’t the responsibility of TVRM to pay for the bridge. Norfolk Southern I believe was responsible for that. That’s what they told me atleast.

You should hire @Distant Singnal, narrate your video sometime. He's a classic VA for multiple railway vids
The echo from the whistle always gets me
Outstanding video and audio!! Please keep them coming!!
Great historical save including the turntable. The 4501 reminds of my first Lionel.

Beyond beautiful steam locomotives are so rare today
You are definitely one of my favorite UA-camrs either you or rediscovering lost railways both you guys produce documentary level content
Thank you so much! That means a lot.
I wish they would paint it back green one time. That was my favorite version of it.
Me too! And I wish they would not have put on that automatic Stoker! 4 501 was built as a hand fired engine, and it should remain that way
@@rudycarlson8245 yep
4501 gotta have one of the best whistles
I know this locomotive very well! Many years ago I was a firefighter and used to get calls to deliver water for her.
Amazing shots of 4501 and that whistle sounds beautiful. One day I could see this in person.
Excellent coverage.
Delighted Thanks 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
An outstanding production! Can't wait to see these fine steamers run in 2024!!
I remember last October I rode behind this beautiful locomotive and doing it again this October
They should put the Princeton back on the ‘01. The V&SW whistle sounds good, but the Princeton is 4501’s true whistle.
I totally agree!
NS should bring back their Mainline Steam Program as long as they get their acts together with PTC!
Nice Coverage
🏵️🎊🇮🇳🎊🏵️
Just rode behind the 4501 on Friday
awesome trip video on this railroad with this steamer
and the doubleheader too
We’ve got something similar in Stettler Alberta. It’s cool!
I thought the shot at 4:35 looked familiar then I realized that’s where the train scene from 42 A Jackie Robinson Story was filmed.
I got a bell from a steam loco from the southern Railway. I net the loco it belonged to was long scrapped

I rode behind her back in the late 80's. Looked better to me green.
4501 is steamed again.
Gas at 2.15 gal. @5:51. I wonder who was President when this was filmed?
Wow. At about 5:55- $2.15 gas. Good times..
Two weeks ago, as of 2 July 23.
I remember when it was $.99 a gallon up here in Wisconsin
Miss the NKP

They more than likely weren’t allowed to say anything since those excursions are starting back this month. First Summerville special is 9/16/2023.

What's the distance between Chattanooga and Summerville by rail
50 miles
Is anyone going after the September 16th double header
I’m going on the 16th
