For the mikitaka part, I feel like Rohan would also be too proud to use heaven's door on him. He wanted him to admit if he was lying or not, similar to the dice game with josuke. He could have easily found the truth about josuke cheating with heaven's door, but he didnt

10:20 - Not to mention that Polpo even states that there's a possibility of Giorno having managed to not need to relight the lighter at all. So people have been able to pass the test without gaining a Stand. It's probably not a very high percentage but still an existing one.
@@spectralspooky leaky seems like a very loyal follower of a moral code of respect between the organization, and a determination to what he think is needed to do, i really think he would get a stand if he got the arrow but i think he got lucky or got into the polpo gang before the hard test, be mindful, polpo already has all positions covered so it makes sense that now is wheeding out scum from the newcomers
@@spectralspooky It's a simple test though, just put the lighter in a oxygen-filled room and keep an eye on it. The thing is many wishing to be gangsters may just put it out or (rightfully) not trust a mob boss to keep his word, believing he was tricking them. It serves as both a loyalty test AND a stand-chance test, either or being a good thing for being part of that gang.
And even said the test could be easily passed by either you already knew the police very well or you just bribe them, it's not actually that hard it's just that Giorno assumef the cops were already tasked in knowing about the test that's what brought him the trouble
I think a lot of people don't understand the term "blind". It's always portrayed in media as the utmost extreme of no vision whatsoever, but there are plenty of people who are Legally Blind, in which case their vision is so bad they can practically not see, the perfect example being that she held the image right up to her eyes
Not only blindness but also other disabilities. Like assuming a physical disability must be visible, or that a person must have issues all the time (for example: using a wheelchair but being able to walk).
8:02 what are you talking about? Kira was very clearly using his face to block star platinum’s punch’s! Might I say, it was a very impressive strategy on his part
I’d also say for Kars that he respected things that he couldn’t do himself, like he respected the flower for being able to do photosynthesis and the dog for I guess being able to smell better. Whatever it was the point is that they could do things he couldn’t, so he respected them. But when he became the ultimate life form, he could do everything they did but 10x better, so he didn’t have anymore respect for them.
That's pretty much it, yeah. The entire point of Kars' journey is that he wants to become perfect (biologically). As a Pillar Man, he knows that he is more powerful than other lifeforms, but Kars also knows that he still isn't a perfect being. So Kars protected the flowers and the dog because he wasn't sure if he was better than them yet. But after becoming the Ultimate Lifeform, Kars knew for a fact that he IS better than all of them, and asserted that blatantly.

10:01 To add a little more to that answear, you don't *need* to gain a stand to pass Polpo's test. Renember that the main goal of the test is to not let the fire of the lighter die in 24 hours, then there's three options: A) The lighter never turns off, you've proven you are a responsible and smart person and you deserve to join the mafia, Polpo wins B) The lighter is turned off but you've gained a stand and you've managed to defeat Black Sabath, you've proven that you are a strong and smart person that deserves to join the mafia, Polpo wins. C) You either get killed by the arrow or by BS, you've proven that you are irresponsible, weak and a dumbass and thus you are unworthy of joining the mafia, Polpo wins
If I may digress, the vast majority of the people who took Polpo’s test and gained a stand as a result of re-lighting the lighter don’t actually “defeat” black sabbath. The goal of that stand is to have black sabbath pierce the victim with the arrow to give them a stand (or kill them if they are not strong enough for it) after they re-light the lighter. Presumably in the normal instance it would de-manifest after successfully doing this. Giorno and Koichi were really only able to defeat black sabbath before it could pierce them due to them having stands already and thus they could both see it and have a method to attack it. Also, I think the first outcome where the lighter never goes out and you never get a stand is moreso a secondary test to see if you understand the corruption of the police force and know the appropriate way to bribe them, presumably through the body check by the guards before you leave the prison. In that case you don’t really need a stand to assist you in the organisation (In Polpo’s view).
Idk if you'd have to fight Black Sabbath in order to pass, considering that it'd be nearly impossible for any brand new stand user to be able to defeat it, especially if their ability isn't good for it ( for instance I can't imagine pretty much anyone in La Squadra aside from maybe Ghiaccio to beat it as first time stand users)
I don't think you had to beat Black Sabbath. Presumably, most of the people who pass Polpo's test got stabbed by the arrow and after gaining a Stand, Black Sabbath stops attacking and leaves them to their fate of death/Stand userness. Giorno and Koichi never get stabbed (since they don't gain a requiem Stand) so Black Sabbath doesn't stop attacking. Giorno has no idea that the arrow is anything other than a weapon at that point, so of course he was fighting with all he had. I don't remember how much Koichi actually knew about the situation at that point, but even if he was fully aware of the arrow and had deduced the purpose of the test, he might still be concerned about being killed by the arrow, as it is quite pointy and will function as a weapon. It nearly killed him the first time after all, and he has no guarantee that the arrow wouldn't kill them if they got stabbed with it.
@@tokatstorm9270 I'm pretty sure that fighting and defeating or rather surviving Black Sabatah it's an important part. If the only thing Polpo cared about the test was the subject gaining a stand then he would just skip the test and use the arrow immediately. With the test he makes sure that the new member will be responsible, strong and/or smart enough to join the mafia and surviving or beating BS prooves the last two parts.
@@mdsystems4463 But the arrow itself is already a test. The arrow doesn't give Stands to just anyone, only those who are strong enough survive the attack. My understanding was that you have to LOSE to Black Sabbath to get a Stand, since that's the only way you get hit by the arrow. Giorno took a fourth option because he already had a Stand, and was able to fend off Black Sabbath's attacks.
I like that that one dude thought Kira was faster than Jotaro when 100% of Kira's motivation after fighting Jotaro was to never have to fight Jotaro ever again because Star Platinum is too fast to react to.
I suspect people miss simple details, like Johnny being on his horse to use the Golden Rotation in Part 8, because most people have a tendency to just read the speech bubbles in a panel as opposed to taking in the whole panel, or at least they don't take the time to appreciate the panel. It's a problem I had for a while getting back into reading manga until I remembered it's not a novel and half of the story takes place in the pretty pictures.
I think its a bunch of kids that saw Jojo's get popular with the part 5 anime who now want to avoid "missing out" and speedread/read the wiki to get current.
This + probably a lot of people just search "Jojolion/ Jojo part 7 reading" and probably don't even bother reading the panels displayed and let whoever reads it to hopefully resume well. Been a little guilty of that myself but at least had went back and read Jojolion well.
I thought Johnny only even needed to be on his horse when he first used act 4 cause later it shows act 4 when Johnny is on the boat at the end of part 7
I think the "Why didn't Joseph use Hermit Purple on D'arby" question is more about "Why did they bother playing with D'arby when Joseph could've used Hermit Purple?" The answer is that they didn't know D'arby was DIO's minion until after Polnareff lost his soul, and thus they now had to play to try and get Polnareff back. Edit: and, you know, Joseph wouldn't do that to an innocent person.
There's also the fact that they would have to drag D'arby over to a TV to read his mind, which would be super awkward and weird due to being in public where absolutely everyone could see them.
9:50 I belive the person had a misconception about Crazy Diamond as in the anime, the arm is first shown as it hits Jotaro extremely quickly in the first episode
9:45 in the ANIME, when Josuke first fought Jotaro, he only materialized the arm of Crazy Diamond as he didn't need to do any more for regular non-stand users which he had dealt with his whole life, but when Jotaro was revealed to be a stand user (he also did the arm thing) Josuke summoned Crazy Diamond in full. I guess they assumed that because he only used an arm of Crazy Diamond at first, that he wasn't ABLE to summon anything else. Kinda dumb anime only.
With the commenter who was confused about people sensing Shigechi’s death, there was a scene in the anime where directly afterwards it cuts to all the different stand useds looking surprised. However nothing suggests that they are actually sensing his death, it is more implied that they are all just sensing that something bad has happened, but don’t know anything else.
Exactly. They get the vague sense that something big has disturbed the peace of the town, but they still need Reimi (who is the only actual witness to the aftermath of Shigechi's death) to confirm that someone actually died. Nothing ever implied that the Stand users jumped to the conclusion of "oh snap one of us just got murdered".

The explanation for what really happened at the end of Part 6 really did help me understand it better. When they said the Universe reset a final time, I thought EVERYTHING changed but no it was just the fates of the main cast. So thanks for that.
Honestly, the most important thing to consider about the reset universe is that ONLY things affected by Pucci would absolutely change. For example, Jolyne is never arrested and Weather never loses his memory, because those were things that Pucci did. But this also means that the things Pucci _wasn't_ involved in _aren't_ really changed, like the general stories of Parts 1, 2, 4, and 5 (bc Pucci had nothing to do with them even in the og universe).

So on the topic of Polpo's test, the test is designed to benefit Passione no matter the standard outcome as either: A. The person taking the test fails and dies to the stand arrow meaning said person was unworthy to join anyway. B. The person succeeds the test, smuggling the lighter out and back in without it going out which proves their value even without a stand. C. The person fails the test but gains a stand ability which allows them to bring the lighter back more easily and likely lying to Polpo about the lighter not going out at which point Passione gains a new member with a stand.
9:50 I think this comment is referring to how when Crazy Diamond punches Josuke’s upperclassmen, only it’s arm is shown. However, we see multiple instances both before and after when already fully formed stands are able to have only their arms manifested, such as when Star Platinum stopped Jotaro from shooting himself while he’s in jail, Jotaro uses only Star Platinum’s arm to steal the bangle in the Lovers arc, or when Giorno only deploys the arm of Gold Experience to turn Polpo’s gun into a banana
9:52 they're probably referring to the anime where josuke only uses crazy diamond's arm to punch the bully and jotaro before using the whole stand when he saw that just an arm won't be enough to beat jotaro
Honestly, thanks for all the videos they make me happy and love your content Also, I'm not sure if it's been answered yet in the manga, but in the alternate universe, we see dio with the world and johnny with Act 2. Does that mean that the original dio in sbr had the world but not awakened
I would say probably not. One small change like eating cereal for breakfast instead of a sandwich would be enough to cause a split in the timeline and thus an alternate universe where you did eat a sandwich. Most likely one of the changes in that alt universe was Diego having The World. Sure he could have it dormant in the base unvierse but there's really nothing pointing to it
Wasn't it just that they were two separate Diegos? I don't think it said anything about it just being dormant but I haven't read it in 3 years so feel free to correct me
My suppose is: Every Diego has LEGALLY The World as Main Stand BUT in the case of SBR it's different because Diego was under the effect of Scary Monsters. What I think is, when Diego got the eye he was still a dinosaur controlled by Ferdinand, the contact with the eye made The World of Diego change into Scary Monsters becoming his main stand. Yeah, there's the thing that every universe can differs for little things but still The World is the Stand of Dio in every way, was just rewrited into another one for the power of the corpse.

That makes more sense than Hamon Beat's explanation. His feels like "Kars decides to be evil, just because" Or "the mask suddenly changes his personality despite no real setup for this, or even a confirmation from the story itself". Like I understand what he is trying to convey, but it doesn't feel like its something that is tangible as a part of the story. As it goes in Battle Tendency, Kars is hiding his true personality of a trickster, and thus is able to easily defeat Lisa Lisa, and not fall for Joseph's tricks. But in order to hide this surprise reveal of his true personality, Araki writes him very composed and mysterious, and it seems he also added those scenes of protection to further obfuscate his true character. So I think it might just be a messy setup for his character.
@@GBDupree no. He probably meant it as in: "Kars' desire for power led him to disregard his previous principals until he got so currupted that he fully became a monster". And with Will Zeppeli's father it could be like: "The power of the mask overwhelmed him to the point that it drove him insane"
@@deadcool3227 I know, but what I meant was that it doesn't feel substantiated enough in the story to fell like anything more than a simple explanation like "just because". Whereas Zeppelli's story at least makes sense with that interpretation because of the info provided could imply that already. But nothing really makes it seem like Kars had a change in personality for those reasons. If that makes sense? I'm having a hard time finding the proper words to describe this, I've never been the best at explaining things. But hopefully it makes sense. I don't mean to sound like I think he was purposefully handwaving it away, but that was the best he could think of at the time, but it wasn't convincing enough to me. Especially when his explanations usually feel more solid and grounded in material from the series. Basically, he could be right, but only with the context you provided does it feel like that could be an actual intention with the character.
10:01 I think they might've misunderstood what Bucciarati was telling to Giorno I remember Bucciarati telling him how the other members are also Stand users or something along those lines, but he was specifically referring to his own team and the person that commented probably thought Bucciarati referred to the entire Passione
Adding onto the explanation of not all Passione members being stand users, even if Polpo's test WAS the only way to join there would still be members without any stands, since those taking the test aren't stabbed with the stand arrow unless they fail the initial task that's assigned to them.
Passione is an organization that controls every part of Italy, while Polpo only lived in a prison in Naples. Other than asking Polpo for the test, there are surely some other ways to join Passione. Let's suppose that asking Polpo for the test is the only way people can join Passione. Since Polpo can't get out of the prison (for obvious reasons), every new member of Passione would have to travel to Naples and go there. Passione would be MUCH weaker than how it was.
@@likestriscia9190 Yes, I'm aware, this is just a hypothetical scenario I've come up with to show how stupid the idea of all Passione members having stands really is.

8:01 what he's talking about there is how kira block one i repeat ONE of star platinum's punches however the punch isn't even a punch it's more of a lovetap
I always interpreted Kars seemingly abandoning his respect for nature and other lifeforms as that his respect for other living things on Earth stemmed from that other living things could do things that he as a pillar man could not. Like how plants could photosynthesize, or how some creatures can fly etc. etc. Despite how insignificant it could seem, there was usually some innate trait or skill an animal or plant could have that could make it "better" than him and by extension he couldn't imagine himself being above them in any regard. However when he became the ultimate life form he now embodies the powers of all life on Earth. All life is below him now
About Polpo's test, and why not everyone in Passione is a stand user. The test is to weed out the unworthy. Three things can happen with a result of the test The lighter gets relit, and you get stabbed by the arrow and are killed, as you are unworthy. The lighter gets relit, and you get stabbed by the arrow and gain a stand, and join the gang. OR you actually keep the lighter lit, and you join the gang, typically as someone less hands-on, (i.e. intel)
And if the person who can manage to smuggle it out, without either dying to it, or getting caught. Shows that member is still valuable WITHOUT a Stand to help

Could you explain if there is a possibility of any correlation between Star Platinum's speed (faster than light) and its ability to stop time? I've seen some people link Star Platinum's ability to stop time with the fact that it's speed is FTL, using some factors such as the time limit, the fact that he is an extremely physically strong stand, and the description itself where Star Platinum is stated as FTL. 13:39 for a second I thought this would be adressed in the answer of this question lol
Repost: I have a question I'd love to see your take on: How come Killer Queen just happens to have a stomach compartment in which to store stray cat? Stray Cat isn't Kira's stand so how does it get summoned with (within) Killer Queen? Is that an extra ability Killer Queen has? Or can all Stands do this to a certain extent? It's literally the only thing that I think doesn't make much sense in JoJo
I think that's explained by the fact that Stands are made of raw energy, and Stand users can manipulate that energy to some extent for minor shapeshifting. For example, when Star Finger was first used way back in Part 3, it was directly explained that Jotaro condensed his Stand's energy into those fingers. Later on, Kakyoin and Polnareff shrink their Stands against Lovers by decreasing the normal amount of energy that usually goes into their Stands. Kakyoin even explains in that exact scene that the Stands can shrink thanks to being made of spirit energy, and Steely Dan himself admits that Lovers is so tiny because it barely has any spiritual energy to its name. On the opposite side, Joseph and Avdol speculate that Strength (the orangutan's Stand) is massive because the orangutan had huge amounts of energy to put into it. This logically means that a Stand's shape and size is partly dependent on the amount of spiritual power that the user wields in his/her soul. Considering that Kira knows his own Stand inside-out thanks to his skill with it, as well as his father's own advice on Stands, it's likely that Kira also figured this out. This could have allowed Kira to make minor adjustments to the body of his Stand, including the addition of a small stomach compartment just big enough that Stray Cat can fit into it. Not sure how Stray Cat is summoned _alongside_ Killer Queen when Kira materializes Killer Queen, though. That one has me stumped for now.
@@mrreyes5004 I like your answer a lot, and I agree. But the summoning bit, yeah, makes no sense. Unless he never unsummoned KQ after getting stray cat in it, but I'm pretty sure he does?
Ok so i have this question, when Kira got struck by the arrow he gained bites the dust and time rewinded, however later it’s stated that he needs to put the tertiary bomb on a person (Hayato) and then have that person be interrogated about Kira for it to explote and rewind time. How did time rewind the first time if he didn’t put the bomb on a person and nothing blew up? Did being in contact with the arrow temporally buff the ability? Is it an anime only thing? I don’t think this is an Araki forgot but this always confused me. Btw my main language isn’t English so sorry for misspelling
Maybe he was able to put it on Hayato since he was alive in the past? I assume that placing Bites the Dust on someone also rewinds time, since Kira tried to activate it later expecting to go back in time. That might be a bit of a contrived explanation, but it kinda fits.

@@spectralspooky It's a simple test though, just put the lighter in a oxygen-filled room and keep an eye on it. It serves as both a loyalty test AND a stand-chance test, either or being a good thing for being part of that gang.

Very well explained 👍
That's pretty much it, yeah. The entire point of Kars' journey is that he wants to become perfect (biologically). As a Pillar Man, he knows that he is more powerful than other lifeforms, but Kars also knows that he still isn't a perfect being. So Kars protected the flowers and the dog because he wasn't sure if he was better than them yet. But after becoming the Ultimate Lifeform, Kars knew for a fact that he IS better than all of them, and asserted that blatantly.

10:01 To add a little more to that answear, you don't *need* to gain a stand to pass Polpo's test. Renember that the main goal of the test is to not let the fire of the lighter die in 24 hours, then there's three options:
A) The lighter never turns off, you've proven you are a responsible and smart person and you deserve to join the mafia, Polpo wins
B) The lighter is turned off but you've gained a stand and you've managed to defeat Black Sabath, you've proven that you are a strong and smart person that deserves to join the mafia, Polpo wins.

"Why didn't Joseph use his clackers against DIO? Is he stupid?"
I think the "Why didn't Joseph use Hermit Purple on D'arby" question is more about "Why did they bother playing with D'arby when Joseph could've used Hermit Purple?"
The answer is that they didn't know D'arby was DIO's minion until after Polnareff lost his soul, and thus they now had to play to try and get Polnareff back.
Edit: and, you know, Joseph wouldn't do that to an innocent person.

So on the topic of Polpo's test, the test is designed to benefit Passione no matter the standard outcome as either:

Also, I'm not sure if it's been answered yet in the manga, but in the alternate universe, we see dio with the world and johnny with Act 2.
I don't think it said anything about it just being dormant but I haven't read it in 3 years so feel free to correct me
My suppose is:
Every Diego has LEGALLY The World as Main Stand BUT in the case of SBR it's different because Diego was under the effect of Scary Monsters.
Tl:dr: STAND SLOT TAKEN, CANNOT TAKE THE WORLD:ALTERNATE UNIVERSE

19:33 This is my favorite one. No explanation needed lol
@@dr.loboto1171 Yep!
Take a shot every time a misconception is due to the anime's animators mucking something up.
I just jokingly assumed Luca's Stand was his shovel. Sure there isn't anything to indicate such, but considering Hey Ya! has no real ability other motivating his user why can't Luca have a Stand that has no ability other than digging holes?
Hey Ya at least gives advice and just seems like a cool dude overall
@@TuskyBaby Hey Ya is just serotonin as a Stand lmao
wake up babe new hamon beat debunking araki forgot video just dropped
Basic types:
"arakiforgor a plot point that I made up! How are you gonna explain that??"
"I haven't read the explicit explanations throughout the story, how can a writer fail the fans so much??
"Why the rats in part four didn't appear at least another 5 times?? Jotaro could have exploded them with star finger every time, there was so much lead-up to it..."
"Piccollo G has burned his ass, and not even once has he pulled down his pants to show the burn! It was forgotten..."
"An everyday object has been inhabited by a stand, so why it didn't become invisible and phase-through??"
"I don't believe Araki a word of those interviews... And he is also forgetful, he told so himself in an interview!"
Araki forgot to write a bad story
Yet another episode of “Hamon Beat vs NPC’s”
Araki forgot to give this man a raise
7:42 I think the commenter was referring to the scene before when Killer Queen was about to strike at Koichi but Jotaro came up from behind and threw a punch which KQ was able to block in time
9:47 I also think they were referring to the beginning of Part 4 when crazy Diamond’s arm only appeared. Maybe it was Araki not trying to spoil his stand design early and wanted to hype it up before revealing his full design?
8:01 what he's talking about there is how kira block one i repeat ONE of star platinum's punches
however the punch isn't even a punch it's more of a lovetap
I always interpreted Kars seemingly abandoning his respect for nature and other lifeforms as that his respect for other living things on Earth stemmed from that other living things could do things that he as a pillar man could not. Like how plants could photosynthesize, or how some creatures can fly etc. etc. Despite how insignificant it could seem, there was usually some innate trait or skill an animal or plant could have that could make it "better" than him and by extension he couldn't imagine himself being above them in any regard. However when he became the ultimate life form he now embodies the powers of all life on Earth. All life is below him now
Cant wait for the part 9 araki forgots
We already have one: Araki forgot to make Jodio gay
About Polpo's test, and why not everyone in Passione is a stand user.
The test is to weed out the unworthy. Three things can happen with a result of the test
The lighter gets relit, and you get stabbed by the arrow and are killed, as you are unworthy.
The lighter gets relit, and you get stabbed by the arrow and gain a stand, and join the gang.
OR
you actually keep the lighter lit, and you join the gang, typically as someone less hands-on, (i.e. intel)
And if the person who can manage to smuggle it out, without either dying to it, or getting caught. Shows that member is still valuable WITHOUT a Stand to help

obsessed with these videos
19:32 had me fucking cackling
im just amazed there are still enough things to make a 24 minute long video on
Depending on when the TSKR episode with Mikitaka takes place, it could also be that Rohan has already learnt not to intrude on people's privacy without permission
I love your vids. You shed light on all these questions and now, the whole 'Uraki forgets' is debunked and maybe he only forgot one or two things
Your videos are so relaxing and entertaining
Ahh yes my jojology lesson again
Could you explain if there is a possibility of any correlation between Star Platinum's speed (faster than light) and its ability to stop time?
I've seen some people link Star Platinum's ability to stop time with the fact that it's speed is FTL, using some factors such as the time limit, the fact that he is an extremely physically strong stand, and the description itself where Star Platinum is stated as FTL.

for a second I thought this would be adressed in the answer of this question lol
Welcome to another episode of 'ppl cant read' 😂
Also the patience of hamonbeat is commendable

the roblox jjba lore is beyond😂
that anime style tusk in the thumbnail is so good bro I need part 7 asap
hamon beat I love you
i like how half of these is "it never said that"
Repost: I have a question I'd love to see your take on: How come Killer Queen just happens to have a stomach compartment in which to store stray cat?
I appreciate doing these in Part order. As I haven't read part 7 or 8 yet, it made the video watching experience more pleasant ❤️ thank you
Make sure to get reading buddy 👍especially with jojolands starting to come out
LETS GO FINALLY MORE DEBUNKING ARAKI FORGOTS
Average JoJo fan:
*sigh* "I wish I could read"
Alternate title: JoJo Fans Have No Concept of Time
3:45 What about the younger Darby? There was a TV nearby and that Darby was completely harmless. All Joseph needed to do was stop Jotaro from beating the shit out of him
I'll be awhile, but I can't wait to see the Araki Forgot for Part 9
