We just purchased a ‘18 BMW M760. Its fully loaded, low miles, dealerships certified, and in mint condition. We paid out the door with bumper to bumper warranty, taxes and whatever fees for $78k. The depreciation is bad in this cars, ours was $170k when new 😱.
Sam CarLegion, thanks! Since the 760 came out, we were keeping an eye on it. We asked our local the dealership to let us know when they got one used, so less than three weeks ago they got one, for the first time, and we were there right away after the salesman called. We are “loyal” clients to that specific dealership (so far we have had 7 bmws from them), and they worked a nice deal. It’s amazing, way too much joy, and it’s GLORIOUS 😉 My husband is the one that drives it mostly, I am stuck with my X7, because of kids 😅
Nice review Sam. I had an Audi A8 D3 4.2tdi for seven years and all i done to it was service it every year, long life oil, fuel and air filters. The fifth year i had it i changed the upper arms on the front to Bilstein ones rather than Audi ones as they were less than half the price of OEM ones and noticed no difference, ( Audi states you have to change all the arms when one goes is total bollocks) and a rear door lock which belonged to an Audi A6 which is the same as the A8 off Ebay (£15) I got the next model now Audi A8 D4 4.2TDI which was four years old when i bought and is now seven years old and do the same service as before and never have any issues. These cars are so well built if you service it regularly and drive it as it should be (luxury car not a track car) you should little maintenance problems.
2013 A8L checking in, 4.0L TT at 140k miles and it's a monster. Paid $18.5k 2 years ago and would do it again in a heartbeat. If you have half a brain to repair things yourself they are an amazing deal.
@TGP795 That's a great price for low miles, imo. If you don't mind higher miles there are some for quite cheap lurking around. In the end maintenance will be a huge cost if you cannot do most it yourself. Not oil changes and brakes, like swapping air shocks and pumps, dealing with old coolant hoses that leak. That kind of stuff that is labor intense and cost big on labor is why these cars are so discounted when they are old.
I have a 2011 A8L with only 73k miles.. Sticker was $105k..I bought it 3 years ago for $28k. Always let someone else take the first initial depreciating hit.

I got a D4 2011 for $9500 last year, it had high mileage, 100k, but I was happy to have the Bang-Olf stereo system which was a $6000 option. Drives great, but I've had some issues with the MMI screen and air suspension. I have a new engine and tyranny ready to go when it goes out.
That 4.2 FSI should never need replacing as long as you do basic maintenance. Sure you’ll eventually deal with things like carbon buildup, injectors, sometimes the occasional HPFP, but overall it’s solid. Oh… and the 8 speed ZF in the D4, bulletproof. Overall I’d say you got a super limo for many years to come.

I just test drove a 2014 a8 3.0T. Almost feels like it is stuck in that gear rather than up shifting to a higher gear. Almost feels like your in a standard and you forgot to shift.
SERIOUS QUESTION, I always thought D4 was like 08or09-13or14 and I thought 2015 with the major changes made the D5s?? I was under the understanding no D4s passed 2015..?
Just bought a 2012 D4 A8L with 126k kms (75k miles), one owner from new, no accidents, clean PPI for $12.8k CAD in Sherbrooke QC. Which brought me to this video. So yeah, I found a cheaper D4 A8L lol. Its the same tech and features as this one, but with 4.2L engine. The D4 in 2018 was an ancient dinosaur at that point, and could in no way compete with S-class, 7-Series, or even a Cadillac CT6. The car was far too outdated then for 2017/18 which were the last years before the new one out now. The D5 is the current one out now, this is just a facelift from the 2011 released model
