Hands down the most beautiful, body positive movie ever made. It’s a shame this film gets so much hate. It taught me that beauty isn’t only about looks when I was younger. Fantastic film.
    Edit for a typo.

@@zohrak8715 His friend is a jerk yes, and he wasn’t actually trying to help him for the right reason.
But that doesn’t make delusional good. If you didn’t notice Hal still ends up happy when he knows the truth which is WAY better. This way he doesn’t constantly come across like he’s mocking people. This way he has actually learned something about people and empathy. “Delusional” is not good, not safe. Even supposedly “positive” delusions have proven to be harmful in real life, if there is a way to treat it, it should be treated.

What I don't understand about it is that he sees not only women differently, but men as well. I thought it was him seeing people for what they are on the inside out. For example Rosemary, and the other women he's met were all unconventionally attractive, but he saw them in a perception from their inner beauty, which made them look and appear super attractive in his eyes. It's also like the nurse who looked old and shrewd in his eyes, but she was seen as traditionally attractive to the world's standards. He also had the same experience with Rosemary's ex and her ex's Hawaiian friend. Both of the men appeared very attractive in his eyes, which made him feel very insecure around Rosemary, but when his controlled vision to see the inner person of others was taken away he instead saw them for who they physically were. The two men were now seen completely different, yet with very similar features than before making him feel different as a person, he started basing them off of who they were as people than only the physicality of what they were. He felt ashamed for who he was as a person more than his looks and felt inferior in comparison to her ex and his friend.
However, the only thing I never understood was how come the only people he didn't see change were his best friend, his boss, the couple he works with, the guy who walks on all his fours, and Jill? How come he didn't get to see what they looked like on the inside at all? Also, the writing doesn't make any sense either.

The hypnosis worked only on people he never met/didn't know. The people he did know like Jill, his best friend, his boss, the guy who walked on all fours, Hal could not see their inner beauty because the hypnosis would be nullified by the fact that he already seen their real actual physical appearances already. Also, he knows what their real actual personalities are like.

Back in the olden days bigger girls were actually preferred by men as their bodys were more suitable for child birth, producing the nutrients the bmchild needs during pregnancy and also they breastes were better for feeding as they would produce more milk more frequently also if their genetics are passed down to the child it would also mean the child would have a higher possibility of being on the bigger to witch obviously if the child was a girl it was seen as a blessing as well yea high valued men would prefer her when she got older as she would be perform their children and if it was a boy that was also a good thing as well yea back then men were doing alot of manual labour and going to war so being bigger was better as it gave them a strength and size advantage over their enemys and allowed them to do the manual labour that the smaller more fragile men couldn't do, men weren't really interested in a girls looks it was more so weather or not that female was going to be a good mate for them to have children with but now days due to social media, TV and all the other bs we have we are tricked in to thinking that skinny girls are more attractive and they are the ones we should all be trying to get with because of the social status behind it ie if you see a guy with a good looking girl you are more likely to think he is cool or doing something right with his life yet if you see a guy with a bigger girl who's not that good looking people want to laugh about it and make jokes, so men now days tend to go more towards the pretty skinny girls rather than the bigger less attractive girls because of that even though the skinny girls have less chance of getting pregnant and their bodys arnt suited for child birth witch puts the child at alot of risks health wise throughout the pregnancy, they also arnt as well prepared for things like breast feeding and so on as they produce less milk and arnt frequent at producing it, also again if their genetics are passed down the child may also be on the smaller side of things

This movie is absolutely, *terrible* 👎🏼😑!
The theme and plot of the whole film’s story is over simplified and overrated.
In fact I would argue that there is a difference between someone being *shallow* compared to those who are; *superficial.*
*SPOILERS* - if a person is ‘shallow,’ they have certain expectations and desires that are both common and natural. By design: being shallow, does came off as a bad thing, but in a general sense; it can also be, a *good thing.* Especially from both sides of the spectrum; involving the men & the women.
Now; if someone is ‘superficial,’ then that particular person would be labelled as: spoiled, self-entitled, vain and *fake.* Complete with a hollow void in their hearts and souls, that nothing will ever be truly real and satisfying for their lives and wellbeing, that would never be fulfilled for one’s need and desires to get by in life.
