The “Indycar” Name was removed, now just the CART PPG World Series. The effects of the CART-IRL Split started to come to life. Eventually ended up benefiting NASCAR.

I think losing the ‘ indycar ‘ name especially here in Europe had a big effect. The early to mid 90’s were a golden age in indycar , far more entertaining than F1. !!
