I call Sabaton the Metal History Band. They are known for doing songs that revolve around people and events in history, especially war. The piano chords played here are inspired by Carol of the Bells. As others mentioned, the end you missed by ending too soon was sung by Floor Jansen of Nightwish.
Time to mention the fact that you will find at least mentioned 1 time in any of Sabaton's videos, the drummer of Sabaton Hannes Van Dahl is married to Floor.
@@Templarofsteel88 Yep.
Make sure to listen right to the end, and see if you recognise the vocalist singing during the credits.
Yes, not playing a song to the end is pretty poor to be honest. Perhaps she was busy that day
@@TheMicj38 don't be so rude, she didn't know so what's the big deal.
You should see every Sabaton song until the end. The credits is worth it and sometime there are also more about the story at the end
Floor
@@stefanjohansson2298the floor here is made of floor
WHAT ...... Do you cut Floor Jansen (Nightwish) :(
Sabaton are modern day bards. They travel the world singing stories of brave warriors and battles from times past.
you cut Floor.....
She doesn't know the last part is floor voice
That comment sounds so weird out of context.
Sacrilege!
Sabaton is incredible.
Max Quality.
Floor is married to the drummer in Sabaton and she is also friends with several good bands such as Sawerska from Epica for around 25 years and Ayreon for over 20 years and then she is friends with Alissa from Arch Enemy and Elize from Amaranthe and Tommy from Sabaton
and Floor lives in Sweden now but plays in a Finnish band

so you have some suggestions to look through and they all have a lot of good songs
Hannes, Sabaton's drummer, is Floor's husband. She sings during the closing credits of the song.
Everyone knows it...meanwhile..🙄
All music Sabaton makes is based on real history.
Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band from Falun, which was formed in 1999. The band's songs are inspired by various historical wars. Even the band name is military inspired, as Sabaton is also the name of the part of the armor that covers the foot.
I never heard of this band until I saw other people reacting to them. Very interesting songs and videos. And good music. Sure you will explore more. Thanks for sharing 🎉❤
You have committed the cardinal sin of not watching or listening to the end of a Sabaton song. You commented on the quality of the film and then cut off the credits which mentioned everyone down to the most trivial worker. This was filmed during the pandemic when nearly everyone in the film industry was unemployed so Sabaton hired the very best and gave them some employment. The injured, blond soldier at the start who is the first over the top is Hannes Van Dahl the husband of Nightwish singer Floor Jansen and it is she who provides the beautiful musical ending which you terminated prematurely
Bro calm down. You're acting like she committed a war crime
It is a Capital crime, Bra....😉😉😉
Not a crime or a sin, dude......geesh......chill out...
Thought this was irony. Found out it was not. This is kind of scary...
I will let the 45 thumbs up speak for me
Sabaton is iconic❤
Good reaction, but just a note to not cut Sabaton videos credits. You never know what’s coming.
The first guy you see in vid. Is Floor Jansens husband and drummer in Sabaton 😊 And Floor is singing the outro 😑
Welcome to the wonderful world of Historical Metal Masters Sabaton. The band members was playing parts in the video. Two of them was on the allied side as British soldier and French soldier. The other three was on the German side. The one that stepped up from the trenches was Hannes van Dahl, the drummer in Sabaton. He is also married to Floor Jansen in Nightwish. That's part of the reason they choose her to sing the operatic part in the credits.
Song You should check out is the following:
- 1916 which is a cover of Motörheads song about the battle of the Somme in world war 1. It's also a tribute to all soldiers.
- No Bullets Fly. You MUST choose the Animated Music Video as it tells the background before the song and also the aftermath.
- Nightwitches. Here is the Animated Music Video also a must.
And ALWAYS let the entire video run till the end so You don't miss anything.
Sabaton teach history in a way that all schools should do.
NOOOOOOOOO..........
INNA !! When are you going to learn NOT to stop a video before it is over.
I love your reactions BUT everytime you do this it hurts me inside.
Love to you and more love to Ukraine this time.
💙💛💙🌻🌻🌻
Sabaton prides themselves on the historical accuracy of their songs. While they are not the only metal band that has written music from a historical perspective (Iron Maiden comes to mind), they have definitely taken this concept to a new level.
My personal favorite Sabaton song (other than this one) is "Bismarck." I would happily recommend checking it out.
God bless!!
One of the most bittersweet events of the 20th century.
Please do not stop the credits - it was Floor Jansen!!!!!!!! great song with a great outro!
Sabaton only make songs about war history, they never celebrate war, but those who was on battlefield fighting, and those at home waiting, Sabaton made me discover several heroes of war, i never known existed if it wasnt because they made a song about this..
I recomend you check out the official animated video to the song Night witches next, you will hear a story about a batalion of girls, figthing bravely in the sky..
And it gaves me chills, that you interrupt the Credits...Unbelievable..!🤬
Sabaton is a excellent band. If you want another sad song check out their cover of 1916 that's not long since come out. If you want something a bit more fun I'd recommend Ghosts Division. Another sad one would be Final Solution which is about the holocaust
I´m always crying to this
The distant guns at 7:12 give me chills. Such a small detail hiding such a sad part: in some front sectors, the generals tried to break the truce off with artillery. Oh, and I recommend the 2005 movie Joyeux Noel. It's exactly about the Christmas truce.
10+ albums of Sabatonic Metal to go. History taught with Metal.
They also have a Sabaton History Channel that expands on the subjects.
No Bullets Fly and Night Witches (The animated story versions)
Sabaton songs emphasize the sacrifice, heroism, honor, and humanity shown by individuals or groups during the chaotic madness of war. They do not glorify war and they do not choose sides, they simply tell true tales of those who rise above the insanity and show the best in Man.
My thoughts....people for the most part are good. Governments tend to get worse the bigger they get. Anybody wanting big government is only asking for trouble. May love and peace always find its way into your life ❤.
Her: Do you have any favorites?
Me: Yes.
Her: Which ones?
Me: ... Yes.
Love all your reactions
Welcome to history the Sabaton way. Yes something to wipe your tears with is very necessary when watching Sabaton videos. No bullets fly the animated story video and night witches the animated story video will be a good watch. Just a small suggestion. Always watch Sabaton videos right to the end. Respect love and peace from South Africa
The most important part about the Christmas Truce is that neither side High Command authorized it. It was organized by the soldiers. It just shows how most of the soldiers on both sides didn't hate each other and had no desire to kill.
You should have run the full credits. Sabaton videos are never completely done until the full running time has been filled. Other than that, nice reaction. Check out their version of 1916 and The Last Stand, and Dan Vasc's version of The Last Stand, as well as Jonathan Young's.
Sabaton is a band with a loooong list of history based music. and also an award winning history channel (academic award! not music) that gives background to over 100 if their songs.
Sabaton videos often have dedictions and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but, watching to the very end is frequently well worth it.
Animated STORY videos (short history lessons with music videos in them, just enough history to add to the feel of the music)

Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising against the nazi germans during 1944.

Uprising from poland
En livstid I krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles) , very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war.
these are just some, there are plenty more from them
That cross is still there in Ypres on the Battlefield , the out ro singing in by Floor Jansen of Nightwish who is married to the drummer in Sabaton
.... They were not worried about the "grenade" at all, it was a makeshift ball, you can see them kicking it because in real life they had a football match and apparently the Scottish won lmao. They were worried about the... ya know, gunfire, and artillery in the background, meaning that they have to shoot at the men they just literally met, in a few hours.
Sereno Natale Bellissima Inna
The next day both sides either shot into the air or not at all. The soldiers on both sides were replaced because they refused to kill each other. Some of the trenches on both sides were so close they would talk to each other and tell jokes. The rule was you don't shoot me and I will not shoot at you.
This truce wasn't auhorized by any of the military commands in fact it was a spontaneous act where the German soldiers "started" by singing christmas carols. After the truce many of the soldiers refused go back to the war which is very understandable. However it wasn't popular among the commanders on both sides in fact some even got executed for disobeying orders.
Inna, war is one of those things that is very contradictory. Command tells the infantry soldier who the enemy is, yet the infantry soldier, upon meeting his enemy, realizes that his enemy is no different than he is: Another man who has also been ordered to do the same by his Command.
Yet Christmas Truce proved that if only for a day, people, no matter where they are from, no matter who they are, no matter what they believe, can put aside almost any difference and come together as friends. And that when given a chance, the light of humanity that flickers during war, yet never truly going out, can have a chance to shine.
A couple of history facts for you:
1) The cross Joakim, the lead singer, is carrying, and later, Pär carves into, exists. It actually marks the field where the Christmas Truce happened near the town of Ypres, Belgium.
2) After the Truce ended, one Gernan commander ended up moving his unit to another section of the line, as his men refused to fire on the men on the Allied side they had made friends with the day before.
3) Not a historical fact, but I read a comment once where the poster had said that if it had not been for the Christmas Truce, he would not exist today. The reason is, both of his grandfathers met each other that day in No Man's Land, and their families later were entwined to each other through marriage.
Overall, this is perhaps the starkest lesson humanity should ever learn: Lest We Forget. Only when we forget our history -- good, bad, ugly, and indifferent -- do we allow the evils of the past to manifest once again. Yet, it should give us hope as well, because if these men in a warzone could set everything aside for one day, why couldn't humanity do the same all year round?
Merry Christmas in 2023, Inna. I hope you and your family have a safe and happy holiday season!
The higher ups had to move those units of soldiers to different parts of the front because they wouldn't start fighting again.
LEST WE FORGET
The Christmas Truce was a significant moment in history that Sabaton has powerfully captured in song and video.
In the bleak midwinter, on that Christmas morn,
A truce emerged amidst the battle-worn.
In trenches deep, where fear did reside,
A flicker of hope sparked on that fateful tide.
As frost adorned the earth, soldiers stood in pause,
Guns silenced, replaced by camaraderie's cause.
A young British lad, with hope in his eyes,
Ventured 'cross the lines, beneath the winter skies.
He met a German soldier, once a foe,
But now a friend, in this brief tableau.
They shared a laugh, exchanged tales of home,
In the midst of war, they felt less alone.
They played a match upon that bloodied field,
Their boots kicking up memories sealed.
With hearts alight, they set the hatred free,
For just a moment, they could simply be.
But as the sun descended, casting shadows long,
The young soldier knew this peace wouldn't prolong.
He bid farewell, returned to his trench,
With heavy heart, the truth did quench.
For on the morrow, they'd be foes again,
Sent to fight and cause each other pain.
The war would rage on, relentless and cruel,
Devouring lives, a tragic, endless duel.
And so, he pondered as he lay awake,
The lives lost, the souls for mercy's sake.
World War One, once hailed as the war to end all,
Left wounds so deep, in history's sprawl.
In muddy trenches, dreams lay shattered,
Futures stolen, hopes left tattered.
The promise of peace, a distant refrain,
Lost in the echoes of battles' disdain.
Yet, in that Christmas truce, a flicker of light,
A reminder of our shared plight.
That despite divisions, we're all the same,
In the face of war, hearts still claim.
So let us remember those souls now gone,
Whose lives were lost, in war's cold dawn.
May their sacrifice serve as a plea,
For peace to reign and wars to cease to be.
Both heavy yet joyful. Very strong message. Listen up people.
That takes some skill to make a acoustic guitar sound like a electric😯
Inna, I'm sad that you watched it alone. ❤
"Lady of the Dark" by Sabaton. No spoilers but I hadn't heard that story before.
I was myself late to the Sabaton party but they are incredible. Personally I love Soldier of Heaven and The Ghost in the Trenches.
Don't know if I'm partial (from Swedeb, same as the band) but the know how to tell stories
You missed floor
Aaaarrrgghh! You should have watched the video down to the credits and listen to those gorgeous Singers voice (Hint: Hannes, the Blond soldier who went out of the trenches first is the Drummer of Sabaton AND THE HUSBAND OF FLOOR JANSENS!!!!)
When you do another reaction to Sabaton, do "No Bullets fly" and watch the movie (animated story) till the VERY END (or you miss something)!
Well, try now 1916 from Sabaton. WWI is an important topic for them right now because the last two albums of Sabaton are about that war: "The Great War" and "The War to End All Wars".
This is one of their saddest songs. A great happier songs are Ghost Division and The Red Barron. Highly recommend you watching those
Welcome to Sabaton, deffinetely you should check, Bismark, No Bullets fly (animated video) and 1916, though it´s a cover, maybe not my favorite songs of them, though they had no bad songs, but definetely th must watch videos
It was Machinegun Fire. The Truce is over. You see it in the Face of the French Soldier who stopped the Ball. :(
That cross they are making is real btw.
A moment of peace in a war that never ends? PTSD.
The gun fire they hear before they stop playing football is not a grenade, but rather used to signify that there was still fighting going on during the truce in other parts of the front, and that sadly this event could not last forever.
Sabaton are unique, and while this song always makes me cry (sometimes twice) it is far from the only one to have that effect! Can I recommend _1916_ (official music video) and _No_ _Bullets_ _Fly_ (animated story video) for starters? And please make sure to watch to the end...
Check no bullets fly
Sabaton - No Bullets Fly ( animated story video ).
Great job. Carry on.
Look at there new 1916 (a Moterhead cover)
You should look into the song Night Witches!

In reality they refused to fight each other the days after and the generals had to reassign them all elsewhere.
There should be a UA-cam strike for stopping in the middle of Floor!
You cut off Floor singing at the end. That was her husband Hannes, the first man out of the trenches.
Favorites are Winged Hussars, Lost Battalion and En Livstid i Krig , last on the list really needs to be listen to from their live in Gothenburg with captions on. Any song in collaboration with Yarnhub, always watch the story videos.
Você perdeu uma das melhores partes "os créditos" que são cantados pela FLOOR JANSEN, que é casada com o baterista do Sabaton
Not "sometimes", ALL of their songs are military history lessons. No wonder Tommy Johansson releases mostly lighter covers every Friday 😀
bad move turning floors voice off!
You need to know the best italian metal band in the world. Nanowar of Steel, and the best cross over of all times. La polenta taragnarock
The Christmas truce was something chosen by & set into motion by the soldiers themselves, their officers were not happy about it. They wanted that one day without violence & death, and they didn't ask for permission.
Please react SABATON -1916!!

Loved your review - hope you don't mind me saying, your voice level was a bit low and made it hard to hear your commentary (which I very much want to easily listen to).
Like so many others you cut off Floor Jansen. Hmmmm not good. Hahahahahaha
Just react to more Sabaton. Don't hold back your emotions. We don't .
React Sabaton 1916

You should not cut the credits off.
I really liked your reaction ... unfortunately you didn't play the credits and so you didn't listen to Floor. 😢
