- In today's furniture makeover, I take a plain Jane and give it a dark and moody finish. This dresser had some pretty typical fixes (tips and tricks!) that you may find helpful and I get to finally do something I have been wanting to do for a while, spray paint furniture.

The dresser looked nautical and masculine to me which is very refreshing. I love alot of small details, but simple pieces like this one deserve their moment as well. Really eye catching!😍

As far as the dresser, she may have started plain Jane but she ended up elegant! Like one of the smoking hot actresses from a black and white film! Love it!!

Sexy dresser!!!! I love the goofy expressions you use! "Sticking the sticks!!!" I really appreciate your work Sarah and I like you as a person so much. You are authentic, honest, hard worker and talented! I always enjoy your videos and learn new things. I haven't used a spayer since I do very limited in number furniture transformations and the pieces are all different... a dresser, chairs, table or mirror... a few times I have restored and not painted a piece. Since I learned how to paint chairs without brush strokes I don't need a sprayer. But of course, I do hate doing chairs! Ya know, I've never seen handles like the one on today's piece, put on vertically, only horizontally. I think vertical looks better.

That dresser turned out so nice! Did you like using that type of paint? Was it easy to spray? I just got a sprayer, but I haven't used it yet. It's intimidating to use a tool for the first time. Also....my husband (Bill Williams) is dying to know if you are a McLeod's Daughters fan. 😁

To your sprayer question. It took a little getting used to. I had to hold it a lot closer than I thought I would. While this was my first time spraying with colour I have been spraying with top coat for a bit which now that I think about it was probably a bit backwards…mostly bc if I stuffed up the top coat I’d have to repaint to fix any mistakes 🤦🏼♀️😂 but I think bc I had been spraying the top coat the colour didn’t feel to intimidating.

I just walked by the Wagner sprayers at Home Depot this weekend. The prices are certainly reasonable. If I ever get around to painting my Lane cedar chest I’ll certainly consider spraying. How is the new outside your home job going?
Do you know Edith I walk past that part of the aisle all the time wondering if I should get a second sprayer😆 probably a bit extravagant to have two but the upgrades on the new ones seem to make getting a flawless finish even easier

I definitely think that draw was not original to the piece. They may have taken it from a matching desk like you said. It was so interesting to me because it was so random. Maybe they lost to draw overtime.
