Thanks for the review! The problem is not the RTK station but mower itself. When it moves under trees or zones surrounded by higher walls on either sides, the mower loses satellite reception and it cannot triangulate its position and the mower stops. In order to be accurate in its known position it needs to have both RTK and mower satellite reception to be good. This is highly frustrating and was a huge problem with the current LUBA mower. Hoping this new camera system on YUKA and LUBA 2 can aid in these areas and solve the issue. This was the main reason I reluctantly had to sell my LUBA as it stood more than worked in our garden.
Thanks for writing this comment. It really gives me a better idea. I suppose the problem for me now is to find a more challenging yard regards satellite reception etc
This seems to be addressed with Vision 3D system that kicks in when the GPS or RTK signal are weak or lost (implemented on both Luba 2 and Yuka). It seems to be working fine. I had lost signal completely only when I had some issues with RTK after firmware update. The RTK had a green light on, but there was no signal reported in the APP. Other than that my garden is pretty much in the forest.
@@maciejgk thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear the camera system is making a difference in its ability to continue mowing in areas that have no satellite reception.

Thank you for the review. May I ask if there is any ETA for the full review video? Can't wait to see it in action.
Can you change the battery in the Yuka now or not? I can't find any information about this, you can buy an extra battery when ordering or buy it separately later. I wonder if you can simply change it, which would be an added value for me.
Yes you can. It’s 6 screws and there are actually 2 batteries in my test model I was given and at a guess they are proprietary. I’m not sure if they offer extra betteries
@@lawnporn I've ordered one. I understand that the 2nd battery comes with the sweeper option. As I don't plan to use the sweeper as much as mowing, I'm wondering if this adds to the mowing time. If it does, then it must add to the charging time. Hmm.
Many thanks for the presentation. Can you tell me the dimension of the Yuka. I have a nice niche in my garden to hide it in parking mode but didn't find any information about the overall dimension including charging station.
Thanks, of course. Just wondering how much. Assume it’s mowing along a retaining wall maybe, would it be 250mm, more, less. Be interested in your experiences once you have it running.
What are the obstacle avoidance options? Like Luba where you can have it set so it only avoids on physical contact? I have some Dianella blaze in the garden that borders the lawn, it tends to over hang a little so just wondering the camera sensors will identify that as something to maneuverer around rather than just travelling under.
@@lawnporn my guess it’s about 250mm based on the information provided last night. 100mm r for the difference between cutting width and machine width plus the 150mm they recommend you leave from the edge when mapping. Can I ask about the area you have mapped to cut in the app. What size area are you cutting in total? Have you ever used the Luba? Could that map the same size area? Only reason I ask is I keep getting told there is a minimum area that theses machine can cut, so if you map an area below this it won’t create a map. Seems like a strange constraint
Any chance you’ll have a video up to compare Yuka to Luba? By the weekend? 😊. I am hoping to buy this or Luba (2). Kickstarter sale starts on jan 30th. Luba presale ends on 29th I’ve heard.
Probably won’t be able to do that sorry. I just got back to civilisation today from a work trip and I haven’t had a chance to get an android phone to test. I’ll try tomorrow but here is going to be extremely windy for filming
@@nathanswift6548hey Nathan. I do have a full Yuka unit. I got the android phone and I got it working but it took a few upgrades both phone, app and the Yuka had to go thru an upgrade. The leaf and grass cutting function works very well. I couldn’t get it to dump its load and it seems you can’t dump outside the mowing area. There’s plenty of hiccups at this stage but it’s very early days and Mammotion are really smashing out the bug fixes. Also I think you can change the cut height in the app. I couldn’t get the video link working but that is something they’ll do last I’d imagine. In the should I get a Luba 2 or a Yuka I’d probably look at my area and ask myself 1. Is it a large area? 2. Is it uneven terrain? 3. Do I really need to catch? If you answer yes to 1/2 but not 3 - you are going a Luba 2
@@lawnporn Exactly the answers I was searching for. I was ready to order a Luba 2 1000H but the Yuka actually seems to be better for my needs. Having a robot to help me around the house means that I can give my arthritis a break and save my energy for more enjoyable tasks.
Hey mate, be good you could program it to dump the clippings on the neighbours lawn 😂😂 Is there an estimated price range these will retail for? Something that advanced id imagine 6-10k. Does it have a home charging station it plugs itself into. Whats the runtime on the battery. Will parts and service be readily available. Is it connected via wifi or bluetooth.
Best to my knowledge 1. Should be able to dump it where you please outside of a mow area when they update it. 2. The Yuka appears to have 3 variants the Yuka 600, the 1000 and the 1500. They Yuka 600 can do 600m2 area combined. The 1000 - 1000m2. Looks like you can change the battery (and it might also be a software key or similar) The kickstarter had the 600 for $1400 odd (I’m guessing USD) 3. Yea it has a charger station. Damn ! I can’t see the rest of your questions on my phone app. I’ll send another comment in a minute
I see no need for a catcher. I’ve had a Husqvarna for 6 years and just moved to a Luba. The blades that are cut are so small you never see them… and it’s actually healthy for them to remain in the grass anyway. The best thing about a robotic mower is that you don’t need to worry about the cut grass waste….
This robot is good for nothing. One tree and it failed to create the map. No idea for what the camera and RTK station is good for. When the GPS signal is weak under a small tree it’s impossible to include this area to the map. So if you have no obsticales, corners and trees this device might work
A lot of empty talk! Let me see how he mows the grass, does it leave any marks. Does it pick up the short blades of grass. Everything else he said is bullshit.

Hey an update will be in a few weeks. I got sent north for work.
Subscribing. Really keen on Luba 2 videos!
I will have that in my possession soon.

Just reading this now. I will measure it up tonight after work and give you the dimensions

Is there a drop/cliff sensor?
No it doesn't have that.
@lawnporn I've got a limestone wall at the front and the lawn is raised. Would you trust this guy not to fall off the edge?
8:30 you said "dump its load" hahahahaha
I was thinking that when I said it lol.

@@lawnporn lol
Thanks for the review. It helped in my decision to purchase the YUKA 1500. Suggestion: Delete the background music.
Thanks for the suggestion. You’ll have a great time with the mower
How close to the edge does it cut after allowing for both recommended space between unit and fence and area between body and blade?
Depending on what borders the edge. However there will always be the need for the line trimmer.

Does the ai camera detect dog poo?
How much area does Yuka cover?
There's a few variants. the 600, 1000 and 1500 - covering those meters square. Pretty decent.
600sqm the smallest model
You located in Australia? Bring it up to FNQ for a test on the thick, wet, lush, fast growing lawns of the far north

I don't see the point in the Luba with the Yuka soon available.
The sweeper gizmo is very similar to the Roomba design.
Both are good for their own reasons. The Luna for the tough yard and the Yuka for an easier more manicured situation.
