The Mammotion YUKA is the world's first sweeping autonomous lawn mower. The sweeper allows the Yuka to pick up leaves, grass clippings, and other debris. Another unique feature is two floating cutting discs allowing a smoother cut of grass.
In this video, Jimmy unboxes and sets up the Mammotion Yuka, provides a detailed walkthrough, and shares what he loves and what can be improved on this innovative robot mower.

Great review - I'm setting my YUKA up now and can't wait to see if it will manage my lawn since it is a complicated shape.
How did it go? How pleased are you with your Yuka 1500?
@@ana-ruxandrailiescu633 Yes I'm very pleased with it so far - so far so good and this afternoon I'm mapping out a different part of my lawn. I'm not too good with apps or any sort of technology (and my phone is ancient) so if I can manage to get the mower working well then anyone can.
2/3 of the lawn is mapped as a single area which it cuts very well, the remaining 1/3 will be mapped today then I will also set up a 'corridor' to get to a dumping zone in the far end of the garden.
Unfortunately my most convenient dumping zone for the clippings needs an access ramp of some sort building so that will be the last thing I will do once the lawns are properly mapped.
My curved lawn areas are either flanked by overhanging foliage, steep drops, raised stone edging or dry stone walls so it's very different from gardens I've seen on UA-cam - it manages to cut no problem.
However, I have an area on the area I'm mapping today which has several raised fruit beds and instead of trying to map the perimeter then build in some 'no-go zones' into the mapping I'm going to ignore that part of the garden - it's way too tight / complicated and steep for (any) robot lawnmower to navigate properly as you'll see when I upload the video in a week or so.
these are the best mowers ever
How is the Yuka compared to the Segway Navimow i110N? Which one is better? Can they both connect to WIFI?
I love technology - I'm old enough to remember the first shuttle launch and have seen a lot. That said, I find these highly ironic. I'm looking at a reel mower this week! Nice video... technology is wild. I still remember PONG.
LOL - they park in front of the 2 homes of which they are not mowing the lawns! Maybe that was directed!
Not sure why they parked in front of our yard. Maybe they wanted a closer look at the mowers! All the neighbors love coming over to ask about them.
@@freshlycharged I remember seeing one of these for the first time around 2008! The guy across the street fro me had one, quite different then and I don't think it worked well for him (I recall he and his friend spent HOURS out there the first time. I didn't really pay attention to see if they had to put down a line like the old dog fences). WILD how much things change in such a short time. I'd just like to see a world where we have more gardens for yards... imagine walking outside and grabbing half your dinner from your own property... THAT tastes good!
I am between YUKA and NAVIMOW, which one do you prefer? And why?
From your experience how does the Yuka work when it’s under thick trees? I’m on the fence because I have two large Oak trees. Thanks
I came across a wireless robot lawn mower priced at just $599, which is half the price or even less than this machine. It’s currently running a campaign on Kickstarter!
How does the clippings drop work? Does it drop in random spots or can you direct to specific area? Wil it work in the fall with leaves?
dont see why it wouldnt work with the leaves. just covers the yard and sucks it up same way. i dont think u can control where it dumps but i could be wrong. i just guess from the video..
still if its in a pile easy pickup.
You define specific 'dumping' areas either within the designated mowing zones or outside the mowing zones using 'corridors'. I have 2 mowing zones and will set up the dumping zone outside of those zones, in the far end of my garden where I can either throw the clippings / leaves over the edge of a steep bank or use them in the raised beds of my vegetable gardens.
The YUKA 1500 is working really well for me and I love it.
I will upload a video of my ridiculous shaped lawn toward the end of this week.
Take a lot at the TerraMow 🎉 Great mower without RTK. The support of the company is great
I'll check it out! How long have you had it!
I noticed that too! Could it really be true?
nice houses, what is the general price range on your street?
I have a request for advice because my yucca does not reach the boundaries. I set the boundaries to the doorframes themselves and the robot still reaches a maximum of about 60 cm from the boundary. Do you have an idea what to change in the settings or what to do to mow my entire lawn?
I can’t believe there’s such a cheap wireless robot lawn mower on Kickstarter. Is it a scam? But I watched their production video, and it might actually be legit! I’m really torn about whether to buy one now.
Can it bag only leaves or does it always bag grass as well?
How does it handle twigs, sticks and small branches that end up in the yard from nearby trees?
Which is best Segway yuka other ?
So and how does it work on lawn? It was shown on field with weeds.
My garden is a bit inclined and not even. Would the yuka manage it?
i dont think incline matters as much as rough yard... i seen lots videos on all dif kinds. most the 2 wheelers have issues on the uneaven ground. they just sit 3,4 inches high.... so doesnt take a lot to cause issues. where that 4 wheeled one is just way more versatile. The Luba. seems to be best for rough yards atm.
Biggest hold out for me is now it handles a very steep grass hill
How steep are we talking? The all wheel drive Luba 2 can handle some pretty steep inclines.
I am setting mine up today and that is one of the things which concerns me too as I have a few areas which have slopes of around 20 - 30 degrees.
Hopefully I will have good news in the video I'll upload in a week or so. It is a YUKA 1500.
@@ThousandYardStare Please share the results!
My Luba 1 5000 AWD handles our crazy steep hill that doubles as our septic field like a champ.
@@freshlycharged Will do no worries - it handles the slopes with no problem as long as it doesn't have the grass collector fitted and although I had some problems accurately mapping one of the lawns out it's just about there now.
I just keep editing the area until it gets close to the borders. I have a very complicated garden.
But what's the prices
Link in description
Is that $599 price on Kickstarter really for a wireless robot lawn mower?
That’s correct
Wait! You started talking about mapping and testing whether it would travel to your neighbor’s yard. You never went back to that topic. Why? Was it able to do the mapping, travel between yards, over a driveway, and cut a totally separate yard?
Yes. It could cut our neighbor’s yard BUT if it gets outside our WiFi range it can’t communicate to us when it gets stuck. That’s the only drawback.
I just checked the price, and I’m honestly shocked at how low it is-it's even cheaper than wired mowers! Their tests seem really realistic, but I already have a mower!
It's just a tractor... I think a robot barista like Adam would be more efficient than this 😂
Nice reiview, but your grass look pretty pitiful and your neighbors too. How is the good is the lawn mower doing on mulching cut?
You are full of shiz bro. This thing is junk. Problem after problem. OA is total crap, non existent mostly. Gets lost and can't return to the base. Visual guidance fails repeatedly. NOW it's been discontinued. After 4 months. It's done. Screw mammotion. Chinese quality at its best
Edit: don't even get me started on the bagger. USELESS JUNK
This is such a slippery slope. Seems innocent and helpful but the reality is uglier. I'm thinking of the exercise and sunshine that will be missed. The missing responsibility of chores for children. The lack of community... Surely I can't be the only one that sees it this way?
I talk more to my neighbors now than before the robot mower. Everyone is curious and stops to ask questions when they walk by and instead of mowing the lawn I can chat without having to yell over the noise of a loud engine.
I see it as more a sign of the times... people are already at the point you speak of. In my neighborhood, almost nobody mows their own lawn! Hard for me to believe, BUT I didn't grow up here in the city... and I imagine 'these people' have relied on others for much of what they do... but still don't know each other in the neighborhood. I bet half the people in my neighborhood have never poured gasoline into a mower or anything and wouldn't know how to start a simple mower! I'm looking at reel mowers right now!
The fact that mowing your lawn is the main way to get sun, responsibility, community in suburbs speaks volumes
wait until you are 65 like me, forget that exercise stuff... I cut 30 years with a weed eater 1 1/4 acre sloped and steep. It is time for a Robot.
Almost half of households in the US don't have yards, not everyone in a household cuts the lawn, and many people hire a lawn service. So these will have no impact on most people in terms of exercise, sunshine, and responsibility.
Mowing is a primary great EXCERSISE, AND WITH THE EXTREME OVERWEIGHT OF MOSE AMERICANS THIS IS NOT A GREAT PURCHASE.
Mowing your lawn isn't gonna save you from being fat. Sorry.
@@paradyme Your right, it's a combination of things, first of all knowledge and a sincere self worth, but no, that's not possible because because sitting and and watching TV or Computer screens has really removed the self worth from all americans. it's sickening that my post is sincerely responded to with your comment.
The time I save by not having to mow, I’m out running and working out at the gym.
Agree entirely. Last thing we need is even less movement
People are fat today because of poisons and gene altering chemicals in the food. Mowing the lawn doesn’t change that.
