Thanks for the info... skied there during the warm period so snow was melting rapidly... the second piste was closed but I had to ski it as I wouldn't have another opportunity this season...
@@wisecoonieIt's difficult to say, each season is different but over the past few years I have found February to have a warm patch. Personally, I would avoid school holiday time if you can...
@@ChasingSnow unfortunately I have a son so I don’t have much choice in the matter ☹️ yes, we got that warm patch in Austria (Zillertal) and Italy(Val di Fiemme) the last two years as well, it’s such a shame. Strange development of the winter season these last few years. Conditions are much better at the moment but my ski holidays are over 😢
@@wisecoonieOK, understood but maybe the Bulgarian school holidays are at a different time... something to check when you are booking... I was surprised how much was still open even though the snow was melting rapidly in Bulgaria, so it was still a great trip...
Unfortunately, it's out of my control at the moment. I'm stuck in Serbia waiting for my car to be fixed. It needs an engine rebuild, so I'm waiting for that to be completed, hopefully next week, and then I'll be heading to the Austrian Alps. I've hardly skied in Jan and Feb, I'm almost out of content, so I'm squeezing everything I can of the remaining footage.
@@emilsimeonov1979Well, I was driving it around Bulgaria, engine was running fine but using up a lot of oil. It's the third time in for repairs and as they dug deeper, it ended up needing an engine rebuild. Now waiting for that to be completed. I was hoping this week but now hopefully next week.
@@ChasingSnow Мaybe the engine TSI is a volkswagen or something else? My car is a Skoda Yeti petrol 2014 and I had this problem with oil consumption, but it was fixed by good masters in Sofia, licensed VW
@@emilsimeonov1979It's a known problem with these engines, VW 2.0 BiTDI 180 in a Transporter. The EGR cooler has poor metal and then it starts deteriorating with metal fragments going into the engine and causing damage. I didn't know about it until it was too late. I was hoping just the turbos needed repairing but they were checked and all good.
This resort needs far more long runs only 3 reds and everything starts off from the same track…it’s a bit frustrating to be honest but I would go again as it’s cheap and easy to get to for a short break… I think Pamporovo is my first choice over bansko and borovets as it’s crowd free, no cues great for all abilities unlike bansko, and peaceful unlike the others, I’ve had a good time in all of them tho but do your research as huge pros and cons with each resort
Nice run. Done that run loads of times. Can't wait till next March.
Yes, that's my favourite area in the resort...
Unique descent! wow, how little snow there is. These ski runs are one of the best in Bulgaria for me, opened in 1980 for word cup

We would be going to Borovets next year. What would be the best period to have snow and cold?

Great runs even with that thin patch. We sure are getting acquainted with Bulgaria this season.

@@ChasingSnow Wow. Is the damage serious? Engine sounds pretty serious.

Thanks for your feedback... I covered all three resorts last season and might make another visit soon...
