- In this video we take a look at the new sprint run from Spyderco, Manix 2 in 15V! This blade steel is kicked to another level thanks to the special heat-treat protocol developed by Shawn Houston!
This knife is wicked sharp out the box and is extremely well done!
Nice video Sam. Mine should be here Friday. Good job explaining how sprint runs work.
Thanks Frank!
Just got my first 15V Sprint Manix2 delivered today. Amazing knife, and my first regularly sized Manix2, (I also have a St. Nick’s 4V Manix2 XL). I have a second one due to arrive on Friday. Getting these was NOT easy. I was cart-sniped multiple times, when trying to buy from multiple different dealers.
ETA: an important difference between a Sprint run and a dealer exclusive is that multiple runs of an exclusive may be made. However, once a Sprint run is done, it’s DONE. Spyderco will not make that particular version of the knife again.
Yeah I got cart sniped pretty much instantly at least a few times until tonight. And yes, good point about exclusives having the possibility of returning, but Sprints being truly one and done.
Amazing new Manix, Wish I coulda grabbed one of these. Thanks for another great video buddy 🙌🏻
Thanks Jimmy!
Go to all the knife dealers online that list them and click notify by email when available. That's how I got mine.
After diligently searching & narrowly missing out on drops for a couple weeks, I finally was able to order one tonight. I couldn't be more excited! This is such an amazing model with great ergos in any hand position, with a sick thin edge that just annihilates anything you throw at it. I recently was able to grab an S30V factory second from the online sale earlier this month after being without a Mainx 2 for about a year, so now I'm suddenly gonna have two of them. Great model, & I can't wait to see what it can do!
That’s awesome man! Glad you were able to get one! It really is fantastic and I can’t wait to see what Spyderco and Shawn Houston come out with next!!
Just got mine yesterday. I’m super excited to carry this one. I put some BM Blue Lube on the blade and wiped it so it’s just left a thin layer. I haven’t had issues with K390 or 1095 and I live in BC. Rain is a past time here. Lol
Sprint Runs mostly ALWAYS consist of 1200 knives (except for ZWEAR Shaman 2400) and they're allotted to dealers based on sales numbers. Large dealers (Blade HQ and Knife Center) get more then smaller dealers (Indiana Knives and Pure Blades) . Thanks for trying to share info, But you may want to get the facts straight.
The 5000 I threw out was just a hypothetical but thanks for the info on the 1200!
Yes I've also heard the 1200 figure before. Funny you mention them specifically, because I ordered mine tonight from Pure Blades. I suppose I got pretty lucky to get one of theirs if their quantity was likely so low! I'm very thankful indeed.
I have a love hate relationship with the sprint runs. Love em when I can get my hands on one & hate it when I can’t. Been striking out lately but there will be more
There will be!!!
Compulsively watching videos about a knife I’m waiting to get to satiate myself.
This sprint is particularly elusive, dealers are releasing like 5 at a time, and selling out in seconds. The m390 PITS is still in stock from like before October. It’s probably a 600 piece run.
The main drop still hasn’t happened yet! I would t be surprised if stores are holding off until after Christmas to release their main inventory!
How does sprint runs work I think I missed out on the pm2 and shaman drop smh
Spyderco makes a limited number of the knife and distributes them to any authorized Spyderco dealer. Generally larger retailers get more than smaller one. For example Rivers Edge Cutlery got somewhere around 75 15v PM2s.
Does it rust fast???
I think it’s more prone to rusting if not cared for properly. I put Gunny Magic on mine at the end of the day if I carry it!
@@samcarroll_yt oke thanks 👍
