I’ve had one for years now, bought it in 2018. I own made in US, MIM and made in Indonesia, This is by far my favorite tele of the lot. It has a certain sound and the Crispiness of that hummer on the right amp and it sounds beautiful. I didn’t switch the pickups either, they are great just the way they are and the do the job. Great review of this beautiful instrument.
I want one of these so bad for a mod project, specifically in that color. White pearloid pickguard, Duncan QP pickups in the neck and middle and a Duncan Custom 5 in the bridge, use the mini-toggle as a series/parallel switch for the bridge pickup and a push-pull pot to tap the QP strat and tele pickups for a more vintage tone/output. It already sounds pretty good in stock form though. The bridge and middle pickups have a cool, cocked-wah/out of phase-esque tone.
I just grabbed one today. I was surfin' for MIM Strats and one of these, in Honey Burst, popped up from my favourite online music store "Andertons". Should get my hands on it Fri or Sat. 🤞
Holy f*ck I need one😮 been looking for a good tele for a while now… glad I didn’t get one yet… this is my mission now😅 I’m playing a Fender American Special Stratocaster with a Hum in the bridge so I can’t really complain.. but that’s no tele sound and there’s no coil to split! Nice video! Thanks man!
I have just got one of them with Lollar pick ups for all three. It has a three position toggle on it as well. I cant tell you how or why but it has a different sound in each of the positions. That is along with the normal three way selector.
Watched how its made Americanfenders. 4 planks going in clampedup. Sell for alot more? Why not only 2 piece if buy American. Good these in 2011 was bookmatched pine. Underrated guitar.
Any recommendations for a bridge pickup change on one of these? I was thinking the Seymour Psyclone filtertron might be interesting but might not be splitable? The Fender Shawbucker was another thought 😎
For the price, get a used mim. The Chinese modern players are just not good quality. I own a mustang modern player and it looks cool af but played like trash. Had to give it multiple upgrades to make it playable. Has a great neck but hates staying in tune.
I own this guitar. I can assure you that the telecaster modern player plus is top quality built. Maybe this is the reason why they don't do this model anymore...
@@nickmathews6226 in a word: yes. I know it could seem a bit absurd but marketing works sometimes in this way. Technically speaking, if you fix the price too low (this guitar was the most affordable of all the fenders and the only one made in China, as far as I know) you risk to "cannibalize" the rest of your products...

I own this exact model and it's my favorite Fender. I own a few dozen Fender guitars.
Nice. Thanks for this. I just got one used for my 15yo sons Christmas present. His first tele...
I’ve had 2 of them and loved the necks on Em! Great mod platforms for sure!

I've had mine for about 3 years, and couldn't be happier!! Only thing I've done to it is change the strings. Cheers!! :)
Common ran for a string

I've got one of these. Totally agree, it's a fantastic guitar for the money. Bargain.
Definitely, I really enjoyed it. Thanks for watching!
Best report I've seen on these... thanks for that! ;-) What pickups would you put in it if it was yours?
Adding push pull pot for neck on is a good way to get more options.

Are you in Huntsville? I like that Trash Pandas shirt!
Bought one recently. For the money luv it. Tennessee
I have one of these and I’m pretty sure it was over $400.. maybe used or second hand $400.. It goes for over $500 on reverb..

I have one 2 piece 2011 number 300 or something. Must be 1st few hundred made. But 2 piece bookmatched pine. Lovely
Wow 2 piece , Mine is 4
It's a 5-way switch. Suppossed to be anyway.
I am looking at one on Craigslist right now... with an amp... I wonder if this the same one... in Huntsville
I hope not, I told my buddy to let me know if he ever planned to sell it haha!

Also, I ended up purchasing this Tele today!
The CE sticker is a european certification notice to buyer that guitar is built to european standards. lol
🤔
What pups would you recommend swapping it out too
Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge.
SD pearly gates is what I put in the bridge position on mine.
Anyone put a P rail in the bridge?
No body mention this but that's a quartersawn neck!
radiohead
i think of getting one used but "china" puts me off. i would though were it the official guitar of trash pandas
Lost me at "China".
That is what I thought but with Lollar pickup the thing is warm butter flowing through the amp.
