Well wide variety depends on the context, the public buses are as varied as in Singapore, but due to a lack of statutory lifespan for buses in the UK, there are tons of interesting private buses here and not to mention preserved buses. As for security, I agree :)
Only places in the Uk where you'll find 3 axle deckers is Aberdeen, Cornwall, (E500s) Cambridge, Edinburgh (E400XLBs) and London ( B8L, BCI enterprice)
By that I mean in frontline service, there are obviously a lot of smaller operator's who have 3 axle deckers, but they're mostly used on school routes and consist mostly of B9TL
