  • @GruffSillyGoat
    @GruffSillyGoat 11 годин тому +6

It seems with the drop in battery prices the legacy automakers are passing part of the savings onto the consumer, just not by lowering the ticket prices that reflect the actual level of cost involved. Rather they are seeking to do virtually anything to keep their EV prices high, so as not to impact ICE sales nor erode their efforts in raising car prices over the years. Hence pricing favours discounts and interest rate deals rarther than sizeable reductions in the price of the car.

Bad experience with VW? In a brand's product lineup as large as Toyota's or VW's, it is really dependent on what TYPE of car you purchase - Petrol or Diesel, Manual or Auto, even down to year model. I got a Golf in 2015 from new, petrol and manual transmission, gee it's been a good car, saved me heaps of money (rideshare car, getting to & from work, economical per unit driven) and reliable as! Even with EV's on the horizon, there is still a usage case for the car that you already have, no payments on, cheap to run, all familiar mechanicals so a full service is something one can do for themselves.

EV's are too expensive in general, big discounts for a lot of EV's in quite a few countries at the moment, you don't do that if they are popular. Those who want them have them and will replace them with another, but those who are not convinced will hold off or buy ICE, although hybrids are scaring some.
Something that isn't mentioned with all these price cuts is that it affects the second-hand values as well, a lot of people have paid big money only to see the value tumble.

In the US Toyota sold 9,329 bZ4X in 2023 and will sell even more this year. That's bad news because those buyers are Toyota fans, not new to the brand customers. So it's a double loss for Toyota. Not only do they not make a profit on the bZ4X they also lose one sale of a profitable tailpipe car.

Legacy auto is suffering from denial and fighting tooth and claw to stop change. So they produce substandard cars and sell them at a price that will not sell. Meanwhile China has now signed more free trade agreements with countries in South America giving their car brands a marketplace of 3 billion people who make less than US$5k a month on average. The Chinese care makers have built car factories in South Africa and are now buying car plants of the legacy car makers. So I'm expecting Chinese cars to get both a lot cheaper and higher spec while legacy auto keeps putting up prices and lowering spec.

Further to that, they've cut off their access to new battery tech coming out of China and lack the ability to make their own due to a lack of synthetic graphite and technological ability. less than 5% of Toyota's worldwide car sales are pure EVs. They are slashing prices because people don't really want pure EVs unless it's a Tesla. 25% of their total car sales in the USA are PHEVs and Hybrids. Now that Trump is going to dump EV mandates and slapping tariffs on China, things are looking up for legacy auto makers. Expect demand for all 3 power plants PHEV, Hybrids and ICE sales to soar in the USA . Individual states such as California and couple of other blue states will likely continue with mandates to the detriment of local dealerships and new car sales. There will be a roaring trade of ICE vehicles bought in other states and driven/sold back into the blue states as there is no restrictions on second hand ICE vehicles. (for now)

Absolutely! I've heard stories of people who started with little to no knowledge but made it out victoriously thanks to Ms. Maria Frances Hanlon.

this guy has an obsession with traditional manufacturers, he seems to have bought too many shares in xpeng or zeekr, hence his very biased opinion. it's a shame to lose his objectivity.

He is one of the few UA-camrs sounding the alarms facing the old guards. While the Chinese are expanding the old guards are comfortable with the status quo. Regardless of his position, most of what he predicts are likely in the horizon. Only time will tell.

I believe, like many,he is aware of the tsunami of Chinese manufacturers heading our way. The legacy manufacturers really are struggling in the face of such strong competition and some may well fall by the wayside. We live in very interesting times in the motor industry.

It's far more likely you live in a country with no good access to Chinese cars. Didn't bother even looking at Chinese vehicles this year and then I realized how ridiculous the gap was myself. Step into a Zeekr X7 for less than 40k and then step into a Mercedes Maybach for 180k. Our family has mostly drive Mercedes for 35 years and now a Maybach feels like utter junk compared to a cheap Chinese car. Go step inside these cars side by side. The disparity is massive and it's just ridiculous how much less a Maybach offers. Even the doors feel so much cheaper and boom in a super loud and cheap way in comparison. Even look at the lights in a Maybach... Itd clearly straight from the same model in the 90s

@@robertreid9079 the Chinese auto has disrupted the legacy auto makers in a massive way. Its evident how they are struggling to keep up with the new battery tech which they Chinese are perfecting, let alone the ICE supply chain which they have built for decades. Alot is at stake for the legacy autos and the intense competition they are facing is just incredible. Really interesting times we are in.

I managed to grow a nest egg of around 120k to over a Million. I'm especially grateful to Adviser Ruth Ann Tsakonas, for her expertise and exposure to different areas of the market.

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of
information can be a big hurdle. I've been
making more than $200k passively by just
investing through an advisor, and I don't have
to do much work.. Inflation or no inflation, my
finances remain secure. So I really don't blame
      people who panic.
